There are some things that can't be explained and I feel they should be left unexplained. Love is one such emotion where the "Why" question here has no meaning. I like to leave it all to one word - MAGIC.

I THINK the feeling of confidence is one of the most important feeling that makes a relationship successful..a woman always has full confidence on her love no matter what.... .thats what love is all about.....the sense of trust, confidence and respect...3 most important feelings that make True LOVE. She had full faith in him..she knew he wont harm her in anyway...although Vijay was not so convinced abt that initially cos his brain doesnt say so..but his heart didnt want to hurt her anyway..he couldnt even bear to see her crying!.but her blind trust on him made him fall in love with her even mre..and also express it!!!

I thought Vijay's initial resitance came due to his profession. Even though he was doing it, you can sense that he always felt women will never forgive him which is why Veera's words took him by surprise. 'a woman can actually fall in love with me' that was too strange a thought for him. So he scolds her and says "humara koi mel nahin hai". He keeps hiding his feelings behind his profession. But when she comes back even after he set her free, he realizes that yes someone can actually love him, she came back for HIM, now he wanted to change and be with her as long as possible. That's why that last scene is so beautiful.
