Hey Everyone,
I'm guessing that Vini is either tired from playing dandiya or too sick so I'll just do Wednesday's update now.
Leela is talking to Menka about taking care of Shlok. She gives her like twenty tips. Leela, Rani and Payal leave. Menka talks to herself about how did Janki live here? There are too many rules - don't do this, don't that, don't sit here, don't eat that. Then she starts playing with her hair and says, but now, there is no one around to rok and tok (tell me what to do and not to do). She has an evil smile. I am the queen of the house, even the walls are bowing down to me. She looks at all the keys she has and is thinking about the money in the tijori.
She goes to the room with the tijori and opens it with her key. She is amazed by all the money and jewelry. Menka takes all of the money and jewelry out and sets it on a table. The finds a little treasure box and opens that too and is amazed by all the jewelry inside. She takes it out and puts it all on ( she looks so crazy with 5 heavy gold necklaces on. She says, I really am a queen. Menka continues to stare at the jewelry. Rani comes back into the house and is calling for Janki. Menka hurriedly takes off the jewelry (but leaves it all open in the room). She runs to where Rani is. Rani asks why she is panting and why she came from that room with the tijori. Menka says I 'm not panting, I was just organizing all my jewelry. Menka asks why she is back so soon? is the play over? Rani says no, the costume designer got Rajni ready and everything but the rudraksh mala broke and they didn't have another one. Rani continues saying, then I remembered that Dadisa* had given me one before she died and I put it in the Tijori. Please give me the keys and I will go and get it. Menka hesitates because she left the room in a mess. Menka says I will go get it, just wait here. Rani declines and says how will you know where it is? You don't need to take the trouble, I will go and get it. Menka says you are arguing too much, I said I will go and get it. Rani feels dismayed and she has a sad look on her face. Menka tries to cover up and says I just told that I was organizing the jewelry and the room is in such a mess, you won't be able to find the mal. Menka leaves, Rani has a sad look. Menka hurries Rani out of the house and Rani is confused.
Menka goes back to the Tijori room and cleans up so no one finds out. As she is putting everything away, a necklace falls under the couch and she doesn't notice it. Then she leaves
At dinner time, HC is praising Rajni's acting in the play. Leela and Varun also praise. Payal feels bad. Rajni asks Payal if she liked the play and Payal says it was good. Everyone feels bad. Payal says she will go and do vaghar for the sabzi (put the masala in the vegetables) but Dharam stops her. Dharam says he wants Janki to do the vaghar and then everyone else agrees. Menka is unsure what to do. Everyone urges her. Menka goes to do it but then Shlok starts crying so Menka says I will go and do the Vaghar and then feed Shlok since it is time for his feeding. Dharam says no, its okay. Go and feed Shlok, we will have the sabzi later. Menka is happy. Leela tells Menka to feed Shlok and tells her to feed him your own milk, since he is getting weak drinking the bottled miilk. Menka goes along with it.
Menka is feeding Shlok with a bottle in the room. There are pictures of Janki as a Dulhaan (bride) around and it keeps zooming to the pictures.
In the Kitchen, Rani is cleaning up when Payal comes and says when she was cleaning the Tijori room, she found a chain and a locket under the sofa. Payal says this is expensive and it might have fallen when someone went to go get something from the room but only Janki has the keys to the room. Janki never does this kind of carelessness. Rani is shocked. She remembers when she came home and Menka was panting and looking worried. Payal then says that this will look great on Gudiya though. Rani smiles and agrees. Leela comes and sees the locket in Payal's hands and asks her where she found it. I had been looking for it forever. Shlok will look so nice wearing the chain. Payal agains is very sad, about to cry. Rani tries to console her.
Leela goes to Menka and puts the chain around Shlok. She says that this chain is not only made of gold, but it also has love and blessings. Payal is watching from the door. Leela says when he is wearing the chain, nothing bad can ever happen. For many years, the chain was gathering dust but now it is Shlok's. They say, everything has a time and place destined for it. Payal is very sad at that. Rani is also watching and she sees how bad Payal is feeling.
Payal leaves the room and she is thinking about leela's words. She says Gudiya is turning in circles and gets dizzy and falls but she isn't hurt. Rani follows. Payal says (in a loving manner, she isn't yelling at Gudiya), how many times do I tell you not to play like this. You have to listen to mummy, I am telling you for your well being. Every blessing and prayer in this house is for Shlok. No one does anything for a granddaughter and no one will do anything for you. But you are my daughter and I will never let tears come into your eyes. Rani says, what are you saying Payal? Payal says, Rani please! Don't say that I am wrong. Even a blind person can see the differences between a grandson and granddaughter. and today even Taiji made the difference clear. Now I don't want to listen to anything or understand anything.
The Next day...
In the Living room
Rajni and Rani see Leela looking for something. They offer to help. At the table, Payal is teaching Gudiya the alphabet. Gudiya looks so cute. Leela says no one can help me, only I can find it. Menka walks over to Leela. She finds it and says it is some calender or something ( i don't catch it) She says that tomorrow is a shubh din and mothers keep fasts for their children so they stay healthy and happy. She says that mothers keep this fast for centuries so their children are never hurt by anything. Payal walks over and says then should I also do the fast for Gudiya? leela saays no you can't keep the fast. . Everyone's faces are shown and they are confused. leela says that mothers keep this fast for their SONS only. Rani and Payal are upset. Payal looks very angry and leaves from there. Leela tells Rajni to call the Pandit for the pooja tomorrow Leela prays that nothing bad ever happens to Shlok, etc etc. It ends on Rani's face.
*remember way back when, Dadisa was the one that came to talk to Pari about Rani and Rishabh's rishta that was already fixed when they were kids. And she was treated badly by HC and Leela so Rani brought her to live with the four brothers .... then she died.
I think Rani is beginning to notice the differences. Maybe something decent will be shown as a solution to this problem. In other shows when this problem came up, they ignored it. (Ex. Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan)
