Is There Too Much Spirituality In Indian Serials?

I have always found the level of spirituality in Indian serials to be a bit much. I know it forms a great portion of Indian daily life but honestly do the creatives have to stress on it so much. The protagonists are always going in temples and crying and yelling at the murties and the antagonists sometimes even go to the temples and challenge Bhagavan saying they are more powerful than Bhagavan and throw flowers mockingly and apply sindoor / chandan on their forehead to acquire victory in their evil quests.

To me this is highly unnecessary as these Hindu paraphernalia are sacred and should not be used for such a purpose.

I know it's all fictitious but still they really need to tone it down with the religious stuff.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Please respond as I would love to get as many opinions as possible….

One should definitely have a love and respect for God the almighty. And being spiritual gives one a sense of peace. Being spiritual is important for human existence, in my opinion. Shouting at murtis and making threats to them is not acceptable form of behaviour. You should do your best always 110% and leave the rest up to God. And as far as I see BMTD has given evil too much importance for which we blame to creatives. I think what should have happened is for us to have seen that one who is spiritual and practicing their love for God in such a way as Divya and Amar and Aditi be showered with divine protection from evil Sindoora. However, this did not happen. Having said this evil's end is always bad! Always! Only in serials like BMTD it is not so!

Its mainly coz...Indian shows follow d films in their approach to storyline n there was a time in Indian film industry where much was attributed to divine intervention.....hence d influence on TV soaps....

Don't know about other shows (don't watch them) but BMTD has definiately given a wrong impresion of religeon and religeous people. Thats why it is so fake. You think a person who keeps shoutin 'God can't win over me' will actually win? Hell No, Never

It was definitely overdone & I totally agree with diamondgirl148 - BMTD showed evil winning too many times while prayers of the faithful ones fell on deaf ears.

I don't mind the spiritual angle of the Indiam soaps...its when they start using GOd per their convenience thats when I get angry! In these stories the protagonists are usaully real ardent bhakts of GOd and yet God always sends all kinds of trouble and problems to them only and evil survives all the time.
I don't thinks thats very realistic..... and when they show a flower or garland falling from GOD's hand as a wish granted or the diya flickering as an omen for something bad to happen..... all that it very crappy!
So keep spirituality but limit it to being realistic and believable!
