A deeply emotional moment unfolded on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa after contestant Sufi Motiwala opened up about his mental health struggles and revealed that he had attempted suicide twice when he was 16 years old. His confession left fellow contestants visibly emotional as they listened to his experience.
During a conversation inside the house, Sufi recalled one of the most difficult phases of his life. He shared that his therapist had informed his grandfather about the suicide attempts. Speaking about his family, Sufi said he grew up in an orthodox Muslim household where expectations from him were high.
Describing how the situation affected him, he said, "Meri family ne mujhe apna maanna chhod diya, mujhe akela lagne laga." He added that he eventually started feeling like "a living disappointment" and admitted, "I was brought to the edge of suicide, but my anxiety stopped me."
Sufi also spoke about the thoughts that crossed his mind during that period. "I had thoughts ki kahan jaake girunga, yahan atak jaunga, kisi ko meri laash saaf karni padegi. Kahin main is shaadi pe na gir jaaun. Woh anxiety ke moment pe bhi main kisi ko disappoint nahi karna chahta tha, which is why I came back from there," he said.
His remarks were followed by silence inside the house as contestants reacted to the emotional revelation. Several housemates later came forward to support him, setting aside ongoing differences in the game.
Actors Ram Kapoor and Shilpa Shinde, along with content creator Shreya Kalra, were seen comforting Sufi after his confession. The contestants checked on him and offered words of reassurance as the atmosphere inside the house shifted from competition to empathy.
Sufi's disclosure has also sparked conversations among viewers about the importance of discussing mental health and seeking help during difficult times. His decision to speak publicly about his past experiences highlighted the emotional challenges that many people continue to face, even if they are not always visible.
