I'm not the king but a slave: Aamir Khan

'Ghajini' has reportedly collected Rs 90 crores worldwide in the first weekend of its release. India Syndicate's Paarul Vats caught up with the Aamir 'King' Khan at the success party of 'Ghajini'.

Excerpts from the interview:

Q. Your comment on the success of 'Ghajini'.

I am an actor. My job is to entertain. I am more concerned with the creative part. The statistical part is taken care of by the production team. I am glad that people have loved my movie. An artist needs appreciation more than money. Creativity for an artist is of utmost importance than the material things.

Q. Does 'Ghajini' have an overdose of violence?

No. I haven't heard anyone telling me that till now! 'Ghajini' is an action movie. The action in the movie is justified.

Q. What is your take on the Tamil version of 'Ghajini'?

When I saw the movie, I was very impressed by Surya. It was Surya who convinced me to do the role. After talking to him, all my apprehensions were put to rest.

Q. Do you think Kalpana (played by Asin) should have known the truth about Sanjay Singhaniya (played by Aamir Khan) before she died?

Yes, but I think the suspense behind that particular feeling enhances the movie.

Q. How would you rate A R Murugadoss as a director?

Murugadoss is a very good director.

Q. Post the success of 'Ghajini', would you call yourself the king of Bollywood?

No. I'll not call myself a King, but a Ghulam...A Ghulam of my fans

ye rite i don think so aamir is soo trying to be innocent but sadly it doesnt work out getting all the publicity which is just pissing rite now with all those fake and different answers in every interview

Ghajini is growing like the Psunami.None of Amir's films had crossed 50 crore mark,not even rdb,lagan or tzp.

Truly impressive.BOI is going crazy.Good for Amir.I can't imagine another film doing Ghajini business in the near future.

Poor Akshay and CCTC...I hope they can withstand the Ghajini onslaught.

Aamir is what he is. He keeps out of all the muck and controversies of Bollywood and you only see him when his films are about to release. His job is to create and entertain and that he does. Period. Whether he is fake or genuine in his interviews is something we will never figure out.....he is a master of tact and he even covers his slips with panache......truly , he is the ACE Khan....

Congrats on Ghajini.... it has worked like a storming wave.

He is rly sweet n down to earth. even wen i met him n real life he was rly cute n down-to-eart, Infact even SRK is rly sweet in real life. I love both these Khans. They rock the film industry n r the most sweetest too.
