I've noticed one thing that in some shows like TKTG ,GKLB,BAYP,KSBKBT thye alwyas use gujju familes like in TKTG they show Mansukh as a hard headed man who thinks that women are weak. In Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan ,Suryakant thinks that the daugjhters are a burden and in the other show on star one followws the same concept and KSBKBT....I dotn even know where to begin!!!anways but why do they use gujju's as an example for these shows! I mean this is sterotyping and I'm a gujju and I've never seen another gujju family do this type oif thinggs before!I think that this is wrong

Is is not only as Gujju familiy ..I feel that they r targeting Gujarati samaj for the serials..because it is seen that most of the serials have Punjabi families..so to get more TRPs from all over north and West of India they r trying to get more viewership by giving the families Gujarati base.

But I agree lot of serials have Gujarati or Rajastani background now-a-days

I totally agree. They're version is so far from reality. Take this shah family they're shown as industralist, now take real life gujju industralist family of Dhirubhai Ambani. The dils all have successful life (career, charity etc) outside home.

There are so many such examples of gujju families where daughters & bahus have their own identity.

When my mom lived in Bombay, her next door neighbor was a jain gujju. The treatment of girls were not like GKLB, but they were quite close to TKTG. The men were always the decision makers, and the women were not allowed to say anything...but its not like the women were complaining...but whenever they came to my mom's place to chat, they wud tell my grandma, who had only two girls, how its so ok with us that my grandma doesn't have any sons and it is so different in gujju's.

I don't mean to offend any gujju's, just wanted to share my views.
