'Sharda'

I think Sharda must be Mansukhlal's sister? or someone he helped a long time ago and is continuing to support her. I think he is not telling his family about her - because Sharda did not follow "Mansukh lal's rules" - maybe she eloped and got married - or maybe she married someone from another caste.

But if she was a sister then faiba would know about her .. I think she is a friend and she led life in her own terms and suffered .. That led Mansukh to become what he is today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some guess:

She has some special relation with MSL so she can call him "Mansukh",
MSL is not ready to tell his family as he does not want to show his other side of personality (helping nature) to his family members
It is not an affair because MSL only meets her once in a year (in August for some reason)
Daya's own brother knows about this relation so it should not be any wrong relation
OR may be it is a story line from "Yu hota to kya Hota"
