Update Schedule- only for updaters

Pat, I am taking the liberty of posting this topic
here. Please, can u make this sticky???

Well, here is the deal. I see that a lot more new members
have registered and are also interested in updating. Can we
have a firm schedule for updating - like some one doing
for a particular week of every month?? I tried it in Aanandam
thread and touch wood, it seems to be going well. This way,
every one gets a chance(??!!) and the much needed relief
as well. Can we have volunteers?? Once the firm commitment
is in place , we can seal the pact. If any one is unable to fulfill
their job for any day, can request the other updaters for help.
But, once, the schedule is finalized, the members have to wait
for the assigned member to do the update, what say my fellow
IF ians???

Does that mean that you will do the
update for ALL Fridays? I thought that
I was supposed to update this Friday!!!

nO NO NO, pat wud not be around this week right? so i promised to take over for tuesday and thursday, but for this week only naa 😉 . From next week, i wud love to do regular update for friday 😳 😊

Ok, here is what I think about updating -
correct me if I am wrong. Once we have
a firm schedule for updating, let us stick
to it. Some times, the updater who is scheduled
to do it, goes through the horror of watching
it on line ( with all those buffering and
cuts!!) and finishes writing the update - they
go to the thread ONLY AFTER the whole process
is finished and alas find some one has already
posted the update!!! So much time is wasted -
not to talk about the agony of sitting through
crap like Kolangal!!! Also, with different time
zones, updates get shuffled. So, once some one
agrees to do the update, let us wait for it. If that
person is unable to do it, they will either ask
in the thread or by pm - if asked by pm, whoever
accepts to update can post a confirmation in the
thread - X is unable to update and so I step in -
and then do the update. If asked in the thread, well
once again who ever is willing can confirm in the
thread itself. I hope this is understood by all in
the right spirit. If the schedule gets disturbed once,
the scheduled updater is not sure of the next day -
in spite of accepting to do it. Meli what do u think?
Any one having a better suggestion, pls come forward.

At the outset sorry for posting the update
on 31/12/07 - never like to over step/break a
schedule. Since I did not see an update even after
the usual update time and the views were
increasing in numbers, I updated. Sorry Pat.
well, If updates are unusually delayed - like
6 to 7 hrs overdue - is it ok for some one to step
in??? Even then, the person who steps in can post
an announcement saying that he/she will do it
and then do it?? what say people???

This looks fine Roja akka. I see the regular updates are posted roughly before 3AM GMT. So anyone other than the regular updater would update only after 9AM GMT (if there is no update till then) - right akka? I must mention that Netra and you are wonderfully providing the much needed relief to porumai thilagam Pat akka😊

Roja, you idea is really great. I have no problem with your suggestion. As you know, I would normally update immediately after the serial is shown, and if I have something to do, then it would be after probably 2 hours. Unless something urgent that I have to take care, then I update the next day. Any help is welcomed. Also, your idea of a schedule is good, so as to give a chance for others who want to update. I certainly would not want to monopolize the section and love to read others' comments as well.

No Pat, Much as I hate to admit, I am not
a Porumai Chakravarthini like u . I will chip
in only if there is an inordinate delay - like
more than 6 hours or so - and of course, if u
want help on any day, I will gladly step in - that
is about it , ma - Vaathukkum enakkum 28 porutham!!!

Roja, ungal vaile chakara thaan podanum. My SUNTV is lost due to upgrade and the technician is only scheduled to come to my place next Tuesday. So I am unable to update from today till Tuesday and hopefully can resume updating on Wednesday.
