May 11 (Fri):
I ALMOST BROKE MY TV REMOTE WATCHING THIS EPISODE!

Continued from yesterday. Ram's dad goes in, devastated. Kasthuri tries to talk to her MIL but she is told not to speak to her ever again. Ram goes upstairs. Everyone is in a corner sad (goes on for at leave 5 minutes) 😡

Kasthuri goes upstairs and questions Ram. She asks Ram why is she being treated as the culprit when it is Ram who did wrong. Ram still says that he did no wrong. He says he could never live with someone he loathes. Kasthuri sits ont he bed and starts crying. Ram is totally disgusted.

Ram's father is in his corner thinking. He tells his daughter to go upstairs and call both Ram and Kasthuri down. They come downstairs. Everyone is gathered. Ram's dad apologizes for spoiling the livesof Ram and Kasthuri. He further tells Ram that Kasthuri is a very kind hearted girl. He lectures about the deities in the temple - they are made of black stone but we still go there to pray everyday. He tells Ram to look beyond the surface because color and beauty is only skin deep. He once again apologizes to Ram and Ram tell his dad that he needs some time to get adjusted to a life with Kasthuri. His father is happy with Ram's decision.

Rekha is doing alangaram for Kasthuri (but still forgets to tie Kasthuri's saree properly 😡 ) Kasthuri says she is not happy with the situation she is in. Rekha tells her it is everyone's wish that both Ram and Kasthuri should be happy as husband and wife and hence the 'first-night' preparation. Her MIL comes and compliments on Kasthuri's beauty. Rekha takes Kasthuri upstairs where Ram is waiting in the room. Ram has this fed-up and the usual 'can't stand it' look. Rekha send Kasthuri in and gives her the milk. she asks Kasthuri to tell her everything in the morning and leaves, closing the door behind her. Rekha is in tears as she leaves the room 😭 .(Wonder why 😡 )
(This part I don't understand 😕) Kasthuri goes in and stands near Ram. All of a sudden Ram is all smiles and takes Kasthuri and sits her beside him ont he bed. Kasthuri is shocked and looks at Ram happily. THODARUM.

May 14 (Mon): ANOTHER BORING EPISODE!

Continued from Friday. It was Kasthuri daydreaming😍! Ram shouts at her saying that Kasthuri is stupid to think that he would ever be a husband to her and says that Rekha is stupid to arrange all this and think that he would comply. He tells Kasthuri that he only loves Rekha even if she doesn't. He turn to take the bedsheets but Kasthuri stops him and takes it herself and as usual the floor for her.

It is morning and there is a knock at the door. Kasthuri goes to open the door but stops and turns around to smear some kumkum on Ram and then opens the door. Rekha comes in and is pleased at the picture portrayed. She then give her usual lecture that his parents only wants him to live happily with Kasthuri. She says "Mr. Ram" please live happily with your wife Kasthuri and leaves them.

Ram tells Kasthuri that what he told his parents the day before was all lies and wants Kasthuri to help him comvince they are happy by pretending to be all lovey-dovey. Kasthuri tells Ram it is a sin to cheat his parents but Ram doesn't care and forces Kasthuri. Kasthuri agrees.

At Shiva's house, bit EMIL and ESIL are having coffee. EMIL i reading some joke in the newspaper. Her equally evil daughter tells her other that she stole Thanam's pay because she was unwilling to give it to them herself. Shiva comes out of the room and they change the subject. Mother asks Shiva for his and Thanam's pay but Shiva says there has been some problem and they will only get the pay next day and leave. Mother tells daudhter that Shiva has become a slave to his wife and daughter tells her not to worry as she wilo take care of it.

Rekha is serving food for her in-laws. Masilamani asks where Kasthuri and Ram. Rekha says they are getting ready to go out. Both Ram and Kasthuri come down and Kasthuri informs them they are going out for a movie. Masilamni and his wife are happy and tell them to eat before leaving to which Kasthuri says they are eating out. Masilamani then asks if they are going in their car. THODARUM.

May 15 (Tues):
Ram tells his father that they are going on their own and will decide on the movie to watch when they go there. Masilamani tells both his son and DIL toenjoy himself. Kasthuri asks her in-laws to follow them for the movie and also Kasthuri. Masilamani declines and tells them to go and Ram takes Kasthuri out watched by Rekha.

Sumathi is reading newspaper and the phone rings, she picks it up and it is Thanam's dad. After pleasantaries, she calls Thanam and they talk. Thanam then asks her dad to tell Murali to meet her at the office and she hangs up and goes to her room.

Thanam is in her room, tensed. Sumathi goe to her room and asks her what is wrong and Thanam tells her to go out. Sumathi leaves but Thanam stops her and ask her where is her money. Sumathi says that she took it and gave it to her mother. Thanam says what right she has to steal her money. Sumathi says by right Thanam should give her mother the money and as she didn't, she took it instead. Thanam gets angry but is unable to do anything. Sumathi leaves the room.

Rekha is at the mottai maadi thinking about Ram and Kasthuri being happy. She decides that it is time for her to leave them. Suddenly her conscience (athan ma manna satchi) appears and asks what will she do after leaving them. Rekha says she wants to lead her live as herself. He manna satchi says it is imposible because society will not leaveher alone. Also when it is time for her childto go to school, the father's initial is needed. Manna satchi then gives example that some women tolrate their abusive husband because they dont want to face other human beasts. It also tells her not to be hasty and to think carefully. Rekha says tht she wanted justice for Kasthuri and is happy about it. Also says that a woman can live alone and she will do it. Rekha tells the manna satchi to only come and tell her good things and not to confuse her. Mana satchi tells her to be confident until the end and dissapears. Rekha thinks some more.

Shia is sitting on his motorcycle outside his office thinking. A colleague goes to him and asks what the problem is and finds out it is MIL/DIL problem. They talk about how to face the problems. Shiva tells him the problem is about Thanam's pay which his mom wants. He then asks if he can help him to borrow $7000. His friend says he can't but says if Siva can give him some jewellery, he may be able to help. Siva says all his jewellery is with his mother and calls her and asks for his chain. His mother tells him the chain is for Thanam as they want to go for a party and want to use it. His mother says it is not with her as she has pawned it and used the money for anna thanam Thanam is also listening to this converation. After that Megala tells her daughter that Shiva is asking for his chain after instigation from his wife and tlks bad about Thanam. After Thanam leaves, Megala asks Thanam to and give the chain to her to hide.

Gaja, attai and her father are at a shoe shop wanting to buy shoes, the shopkeeper calls the shop assistant and are socked to see Palani working there. Palani is also shocked. The shopkeeper asks them if they know
Palani and he introduces Gaja as his wife. Gaja looks at him. THODARUM.

May 16 (Wed):

I liked the second scene between Thanam and Sumathi. Thanam really looked lovely in her saree!

Continued from yesterday. The shopkeeper praises Palani because he is willing to do any job until he lands a good job. He also tells them that Palani is a very honest person and he trust him with the cash register. Gaja leaves and is followed by attaiand her father. At home Gaja is thinking. Palani returns from work but she does not acknowledge him. Attai comes there and scolds her saying that she should be thankful that Palani is willing to work for his living and not loaf around. Murali too comes there and says that Gaja is responsible for Palani to do such work. He continues saying that Gaja was fasting without caring about her or her child's health and that is why Palani had decided to get any job that came his way. Murali then shows Gaja a letter from a reputable company asking Palani to come for interview. Gaja reads the letter and looks at Murali. Murali says the letter came this morning and that he is not lying. Gaja is happy and gives the letter to Palani and both are happy. Gaja's dad come home and his sister tells the good news and both go to the altar and pray.

Sumathi is in her room, tensed and looking for something. Thanam comes in and ask why she is tense and what she is looking for and if she can help. Sumathi looks at her and ask where the chain is. Thanam tells her that she took the chain. Sumathi wants to know where it is and Thanam says she took it and pawned it. Sumathi says how dare Thanam took her chain to which Thanam says just like Sumathi took her money, she took her chain, sorry her husband's chain and pawned it for $7000 and gave the money to her father. And if she wants the chain back she can go redeem it and saying that puts the receipt on Sumathi's hand. Sumathi is furious! Thanam leaves but turns back and tells Sumathi that she is the DIL who has come there to live and will live they way she wants to and Sumathi better keep that in mind. Sumathi just looks at her.

Kasthuri is folding clothes in her room when the phone rings. It is Ganesh and he asks for Rekha. Rekha answer the phone and Ganesh tells Rekha that Ram has to come back to the ofice immediately and there has been some problem. He says that someone misappropriated $300,000 and is putting the blame on Ram and it is imperative that Ram returns to the office immediately. Ram comes there and Ganesh tells him the news. Ram tells both Rekha and Kasthuri to tell his parents about leaving the same day. Kasthuri goes to her in-laws and tells them that Ram has to return to the office immedaitely as there are some problems and they are leaving. Ram's dad asks why Kasthuri had to go too. THODARUM.

May 17 (Thurs):

Masilamani asks his DIL why she must return with Ram. He asks Kasthuri to stay for a few more days and Ram can come back and take them home. Kasthuri says not necessary for all that and that they will soon be coming for Jayanthi's wedding. Finally FIL agrees and Kasthuri is happy.

Masilamani is reading papers and Rekha comes down to say good bye. Masilamani thanks Rekha for everything and both him and his wife want her to come back with Kasthuri for Jayanthi's wedding. He gives some money to Rekha. Rekha refuses at first but take it after her FIL's persuasion.

Upstairs, Ram and Kasthuri are packing. Ram tells her to talk good things about him to Rekha and try and change her thinking once they reach home. Kasthuri says OK and they go downstairs. They take leave and go to the car. Rekha tells Ram to sit at theback with Kasthuri while she sits in front. Ram goes to the back with an angry face.

Mommy-Daddy are in the living and mommy is grumbling about Rekha not returning yet. Rekha return and both parents are happy. Mommy asks what took them so long and Rekha says that she has been very happy at the village and that she had been able to do the things she wanted to do. Kasthuri looks at them worriedly and Ram looks with anger on his face. Kasthuri goes in to prepare some food and Rekha tells her dad that she is going upstairs to get ready for office Both parents tell her to rest first but Rekha is adamant.

Ram is sitting on the bed and watching Rekha get ready for work. He tells her to rest for at least 2 weeks as she has been working like a servant at his house. Rekha says it is the fate of the women who marries him that they have to be a servant. Ram asks what he can do to make her happy. Rekha tells him to get a house for Kasthuri. Ram says he will do if Rekha will live with him. Rekha says that she will never be his wife again and wants to see him live with Kasthuri. Kasthuri comes in with the luggage. Rekha tells Ram to see the live that Kasthuri is living her when in her in laws house she is treated like a queen. Rekha tells her that she will soon have to leave and live in her own house with her husband. Kasthuri tells Rekha she will bring juice for Rekha but she tells her to bring for her husband. Kasthuri looks at Ram and Ram tells her to bring the juice and he says it rudely. Rekha tells Ram that Kasthuri is his wife and not a servant and to be polite to her. She also tells Kasthuri to be brave and demand a proper life, otherwise she will always be in the kitchen.

Rekha comes downstairs and calls Daddy but no answer. She asks Kasthuri where Daddy is and is told he had already left. Rekha calls her Daddy's cell and he tells her to rest today and can come to the office tomorrow. Rekha agrees and is happily swinging with Mommy when Ram comes down ready to go to work. He says bye to Rekha and Rekha tells him that she is not going to the office today because she is very happy. Ram looks at her with anger. THODARUM.

May 18 (Fri):

The saga of Vathu Madachi Kasthuri) and Manga Madachi (Rekha) continues:

Rekha tells Ram to buy 10 molam of malipoo. Ram is all excited and shows his 32 teeth 😃, but shortlived when Rekha continues saying that half for her and half for Kasthuri. Ram gets angry and even Mommy gets angry. Rekha goes to Kasthuri and says that both of them are like sisters and should share everything. Ram's famous dialog - 'CHE' and leaves.

At the office, Ram asks Ganesh what is going on and Ganesh fills him in saying that some guy misapproproiated 300K office fund. But now the problem is solved. The Manager wants to see Ram and when Ram goes in, the manager asks if Ram has any problems. Ram says no. The manager then tells Ram to see the doctor to see is he has high BP. Ram gets angry and tells him he is alright. anyway the Manager tells him to take it easy. Ram leaves with his pulicha idli face! 😡

Ram returns that evening and sees Kasthuri. He asks her where everyone is and is told that they have all gone out. Ram asks her to go to the mottai maadi as he wants to talk to her. When Kasturi arrives, Ram starts his usual arrogant talk, saying that Kasthuri should have left when was told to. He tells her that there is no one else he loves other than Rekha. while they ar talking Mommy and Rekha comes home and Rekha goes upstairs looking for Ram. She find them talking at the mottai maadi. Ram who was shouting at Kasthuri immediately changes tune and sweet talk to her upon seeing Rekha. Rekha tells then she is happy to see both Ram and Rekha in so loving terms and goes away.

Ram is sitting on his bed. Rekha comes in and ask what is wrong and Ram says nothing. Rekha says that she is missing Ram's village and his people. Ram as usual says 'CHE'. Then Rekha changes and tells Ram that she will send Kasthuri to sleep with him and that she will sleep in the hall or even in the kitchen where Kasthuri has been sleeping all along. Just then Kasthuri enters with milk. Rekha tells Kasthuri to sleep in the room but somehow Kasthuri closes the door behind them and leaves. Rekha tells Ram that she knows how to get Kasthuri to sleep in the room and gets to bed on the floor as usual.

Next morning, Kasthuri is sering coffee to mommy who is worried about Rekha's behavior. While they are talking, Suresh enters. Kasthuri is shocked. THODARUM.

May 21 (Mon):

Another boring episode...I could have trashed EK if she was infront of me!😡

Suresh enters the house and Kasthuri is shocked to see him. She asks him why he is there and Suresh says he had to attend an interview. Mommy tells Suresh to stay for at least a week and suresh is happy to hear it but Kasthuri says no he has to leave that evening as he has his educationto think about. Kasthuri takes him inside and ask him the real reason for coming there. Suresh tells her that they had visited her in-laws and they told how good Ram is to Kasthuri and all that. Kasthuri also tells him that Ram is now a changed man and she is very happy. Suresh then tells her he wants to meet Ram and apologize to him. Suresh goes upstairs and tells Ram how happy he is with Ram's acceptance of Kasthuri and even falls at his feet. this is watched by a confused Radha. Ram tells Suresh not to worry and that everthing is allright. He tells Suresh to concentrate on his studies and not to worry about anything else.

Radha goes downstairs and tells Kasthuri about Suresh falling at Ram's feet and ask why he should do that. Kasthu tells her that the last time Suresh was here he was worried about paying his fees and that Ram had helped him out. Radha is happy to hear this and when Suresh comes down she tells Suresh to continue his education and not to worry about fees as they would take care of it. Suresh is happy. Kasthuri then takes some food for Suresh and asks him to eat but he says he is not hungry. Kasthuri feeds him and he gets all emotional. He then packs to is ready to leave but is sad that he could not see Rekha because she is late. Kasthuri give shim some money saying that Ram has asked her to give it to him before he left for work. Suresh is again hjappy and leaves but Ram enters. Suresh thanks him for the money and Kasthuri reminds Ram about the money he supposedly gave her.

Suresh goes to Ganesh house and relates everything to him. They are happy that finally Kasthuri is happy. Suresh just feels that Kasthuri should have her own home and Ganesh assures him that it will all happen in due course. Megala is in her house pacing the living thinking about how to destroy Thanam's life. She calls her evil daughter and asks her to take Murali's photo from Thanam's album. Sumathi brings it and the eveil Megala asks her to write a love letter to Thanam sent by Murali. Later Megala brings an envelope and gives it to Shiva saying that the letter came for Thanam. Siva opens it and sees Murali's photo. Megala tells him to read the letter too and Shiva reads it. Both the devils are watching. Shiva reads the letter and tears flows from his eyes and he looks at them. Megala tells him how Thanam might run off with Murali if he is not careful. Shiva continues to read and looks at both the devils. THODARUM.

May 22 (Tues):

Well Sue Nair you are right!

Shiva reads the letter and has tears in his eyes. His evil mother tells more bad things about Thanam and his equally evil sister joins in and tells him that Thanam had a thing going with her cousin since college days. Siva goes in with the letter and gives it to Thanam. Thanam reads it and is shocked. Shiva says that it is written by his sister but Thanam does not believe but Shiva says he had taught his sister to write and he would recognize her handwriting anytime. He tells his wife that only Sumathi wrote this but the words are spoken by his mother. He tells her that the only way to win them is by being patient. He then asks Thanam to bring coffee.

Ganesh comes to Rekha's house and is greeted by Kasthuri. Kasthuri tells Ganesh that Ramis treating her well these days and Ganesh is happy and he then reads a letter written to him by her MIL. Ram comes down ready for office and asks why Ganesh is there. Ganesh tells him that Rekha asked him to come and that's why he is there. Ram want's to know the reason Rekha called him. Rekha comes there and asks Ganesh to go upstairs so that they can talk. Rekha tells Ganesh to look for a house for rental so that Ram can live there with Kasthuri. She tells him its about time Kasthuri had a better life for herself. Ganesh is happy to hear this and praises Rekha. He then goes downstairs. Ganesh tells Kasthuri that Rekha had asked him to get a house for both Kasthuri and Ram and leaves. Ram is furious and goes to his room and ask Rekha what she thinks she is doing. Rekha tells him that it is time for him to live in a different house with Kasthuri. Kasthuri is outside the room listening to their conversation.

Ram tells Kasthuri how can Kasthuri live alone in the hosue. Rekha tells him that Ram is to live with her. Ram gets angry and tells Rekha that he will not do so and that they should give Kasthuri some money and 'settle' with her. Rekha tells Ram that just because he is richer than Kasthuri he wants to settle her with money. Now that Rekha is richer than Ram, can she give him money and 'settle' and how much he is worth. Ram gets angry and shouts at Rekha but Rekha is not scared on bit. She tells Ram off. Ram goes out and sees Kasthuri outside.

Ram later calls Kasthuri upstairs and blasts at her saying that she and Ganesh are instigating Rekha and accuses Kasthuri of ruining his life. He tells Kasthuri to talk to Rekha about her decision and also tells his MIL about it so that Rekha will back out from her decision.

Mommy is lying down on the sofa and Kasthuri comes to her and tells her that she has something important to tell and for her to not get angry. Mommy says she will not get angry if the news doesn't annoy her. Kasthuri then tells Mommy that Rekha wants to move out on her own. Mommy is shocked. THODARUM.

May 23 (Wed):

The VM(Kasthri) tells Mommy about Rekha wanting to move out. Mommy is shocked and calls for her husband.

Next morning Mommy asks Kasthuri to bring coffee and she walks into the living. She finds Rekha sleeping on the floor and is shocked. She wakes her daughter up and wants to know why she slept there. Rekha tells her that Ram was very angry with her for telling on his decision to move out. Again Mommy does not believe her and calles for her husband.

She tells the husband and accuses that it must be Rekha's work. Rekha comes down and tells them it was Ram's decision to move and not hers. Mommy is not believing Rekha and supports her SIL. Daddy asks her what is going on and Rekha tells that Ram has another personality that they don't know about and only she knows. She says he has been wanting to move for the past 3 months and has been torturing her. Kasthuri is all blink!blink! Rekha also says if they know what Ram has done they would be shocked! Kasthuri tries to stop her from telling. Rekha tells her dad to believe her and asks him why would she want to leave her parents home. She also tells them that Ram said that his employer had allocated a living quarters for him and that is why Ram wants to leave. Ram is listening to this and is shocked and angry.
Rekha's dad is very angry and when Ram comes down, he asks him if he had asked to move out. Ram thinks and affirms it. Both Mommy and Daddy are shocked to hear this. Ram goes upstairs.

Rekha goes upstairs to see a seething am sitting on the bed. She tells Ram that she will not leave him in peace until she gets justice for what he did to Kasthuri. She also tells him, if she is Kasthuri she would have killed him for what he did but Kasthuri is such an innocent that she takes the abuse and keeps quiet. Ram is shocked at this revelation. Rekha tells him to pack his mootai mudichi as he will have to leave soon. Ram says he will not leave and Rekha laughts at him saying that he himself had told her parents that he wants to moveout and as such he cannot go back on his words and so saying leaves.

Downstairs, Mommy apologizes to Rekha for being so blind. Daddy then tells Rekha that as her husband, Ram has the right to take her anywhere to live but he has no right to raise his hand against his daughter. Daddy tells his daughter to ask Ram to come down as he wants to talk to him. THODARUM.

May 24 (Thurs):

Mommy is sitting in the living when daddy comes in. Mommy wants her husband to talk to Ram about his decision to move out. Daddy says there is nothing to talk because Ram did not ask if they can move out but told them he did not like staying with them. Daddy then tells his wife that he will talk to Ganesh and find out the real reason why Ram wants to move out and leaves.

Ganesh is getting ready to go out when hsi door bell rings. Daddy comes in and starts to talk about Ram's decision to move out. Ganesh says that Ram is a good man and wants to live on his own and raise his family without his in-law's help. Daddy is satisfied with that and thanks Ganesh and leaves.

Rekha is packing and tells Ram to do the same. Ram refuses saying that he will not leave the hosue. Rekha reminds him that he has told her parents that he does not like to live with them and ther is no way Ram can change his mind. And to make sure he doesn't change his mind, Rekha had told them that Ram is even raising his hand on her - so now her parents have no respect for Ram. So saying Rekha opens the door and finds Mommy and Daddy outside. she asks them to come in and both parents tell them they are agreeable to Ram and Rekha moving out but to see a good day and time to do so. Daddy also tells Ram to take care of his daughter and he should not see her shedding tears. Ram tries to tell them otherwise but Rekha intervenes saying that Ram will not tell them it is okay but after they are gone will abuse her as this has been going on. Both parents tell Ram not to do anything to hurt their daughter and leave. Rekha tells Ram that no way he can escape by cheating. She tells him if man cheats only the family will suffer but if woman begins to cheat, the whole world will suffer and leaves. Kasthuri comes there to talk to Rekha but Rekha refuses to talk and leaves. Ram tries to shout at Kasthuri but Kasthuri runs off!

Mommy is in the living sitting alone. Kashturi is in the corner cleaning. Ram comes down with a pavum face and tries to talk to his MIL. MIL is not in the mood to talk to him and says so. Ram says that he really does not want to leave but had no choice. He only said he did not like to live there because of circumstances and it is not from his heart. MIL tells him that she knows what kind of person he is and refuses to listen. Ram tries to talk again. He does not see Kasthuri standing in the corner. THODARUM.
