Part6"Don't touch me!", he repeated.
She took a deep breath, ignored him and started tending to his wound.
"Hey! Vidu!" trying to release himself from her grip but couldn't because of the piercing pain, thanks to the glass pieces. She washed off the wound with Detol and started tying a bandage. He kept looking at her. There was just a sense of duty in her eyes and less love. He failed to notice a drop of her tear when he turned away rubbing off his lone tear of love.
Without a word to him; she went inside their room and after a few minutes came out wearing a nighty; puzzling him. She headed straight to the kitchen without paying attention to him; who was sitting in the sofa blowing slowly to the wound. He got up, puzzled by her action, followed her, "Hey! Ena velila poliya?"
She turned just then holding hot water in a vessel with a cloth and he dasheed right into her spilling the vessel and the water spilled on Tamizh's leg as he jumped in pain, "Aiyoo!! Amma!! Adi pavi! Ena kola poriya?"
She, who got scared when the water split, just stared at him and continued to the hall. He followed her wincing in pain and confused at her behaviour. He was about to sit on the sofa when she came and pulled him inside the room, "Hey! Valikuthu kuttima! Methuva!"
She pauseed for a second at his mention of 'kuttima' then controlled her tears and went inside the room with him following. He sat on the bed as she took Burnol from the cupboard and started applying it on his feet. He remembered the time when she had hurt her foot and he had to apply medicine. He smiled at the memory and slowly as the pain subsided, "Etho veeta vitu poren sonna.."
Thulasi, "Naan ein ponum? Ungalathaa veeta vitu thorathanum."
Tamizh; shocked and knowing this was something she might do, "Ena?"
Thulasi; still applying the cream, "Maranthu pocha? Ithu ein veedu."
Tamizh, "Athu seri. Appo naan poirava?"
Thulasi who had been controlling her anger all the while threw the cream tube on his face and it hit his left eye as he cried out, "Aiyayoo! Ena kola panurale!"
Thulasi closed her eyes and opened one eye to see if the coast was clear and then opened both her eyes and controlled her laughter.
He rubbed his eyes in pain. She stopped him from doing it. She rubbed both her hands together and applied the heat on his eye. He looked at her with one eye open. Slowly she repeated it. The third time when she was about to repeat it, he held her hands and opened his eye indicating he was ok now, looking straight into her eyes, "Kuttima, ena vitu pogamata la? Evalo kanavu vechurukein theriyuma? Namakunu oru veedu. oru car...athula long drive...foreign trip..ithu elam Suchi irunthathaan mudiyum kuttima! purinjiko!"
Thulasi who had melted; got all the more angry with him mentioning 'Suchi' again. She sternly looked at him and his hand and him again, "Ein kai pidichitu irukirathu nalatha pochu ilana solla mudiyathu adichirupen."
Tamizh, finding it weird because this is the first time she had spoken like this, "Huh? Kuttima?"
Thulasi, "Kuttima! Aama periya kutimma! Cha! Vidunga kaiya." and released herself from his hold and kept her hand in her head.
Tamizh, "Ena achu?"
Thulasi, controlling her anger,"Kolantha aluthu."
Tamizh blinked his eyes. That was a joke. Did it mean that she was back to normal?
Before he could say anything, she looked straight into his eyes and asked, "Enaku oru vishyam matum puriyalanga. Charu sonna namburenga. Suchi sonna namburenga. Naan. Unga kuttima sonna matum ein namba matengireinga? Naan ivunga unga nalathukaga sollalanu sonna ein nambamatengireinga?Ein varuthaiku konjamavuthu mathipukuduka mudiyatha?"
Tamizh, understanding for the first time the truthness in her words, "Athu..apdi illa.."
Thulasi stopped him from saying anything further, "Vendam." She wasn't ready to get any lame excuses from him. She got up ,went to the hall and brought the bundle of money back and gave it to him, "Ithu enaku scholarshipa kedacha money, inthanga." He just looked at her. She placed it in his hands and turned to leave. Before leaving, she turned to ask him, "Dosaya? idlia?" Just then Tamizh's phone rang and he picked it up and not changing his gaze from Thulasi even once, he answered the call, "Hello Suchi?..Illa..Registration odana vendam..enum 2-3 options pathutu solluren approm documents ready pana pothum...Listen to what I say. Don't call me again with this regard." and he cut the call. He got up all relaxed and happy. Thulasi, still not convinced or even as if not bothered, repeated, "Idli? Dosa?"
He walked towards her; holding her by her waist, pulled her towards him much to her shock. She opened her eyes wide in surprise when he leaned forward and placed a quick kiss in the nape of her neck. He whispered into her ears, "Only romance come best for me. From now on, except this in all other aspects, you decide!" and he continued in what he was best at as she giggled knowing her Tamizh was back.
