Episode 10
Rain hammered on the roof like a hail of bullets. She looked out of the shut window to see the heavy downpour.
She asked herself, "When is this going to stop?"
He put the fishing stuff in a corner and started unbuttoning his shirt.
She took a towel and started drying her hair. He took off his shirt revealing his strong, muscular body under a semi wet vest. He squeezed the water off his shirt and put it on a chair to dry.
He turned to look at her. The rain had drenched them really bad. Her wet saree clinged to her body like a second skin, revealing her concealed beauty. His gaze unconsciously traveled along the curves of her body.
He snapped back to reality as she tried to set her saree straight.
He turned away and asked her, "Towel, please" trying to distract his thoughts.
She put the towel on her shoulders and turned to look at him. She noticed a bullet mark on his arm and went near him, "How did this happen? Did it hurt?"
He smiled at her curiosity and care and said, "Yes it did. It was during one of my assignments 2 years back."
She touched it, he jerked.
"Does it still hurt?", she asked confused.
He smiled, "No", he looked at her innocent face which was still examining the long forgotten wound. Her hair was semi wet, dripping a drop of water, now and then, on her face. He wanted to wipe off the drop and feel the softness of her cheeks. He remembered the first time he had touched her cheeks to wipe off the mascara; he smiled at the memory.
He had never felt this protective towards anyone.
He had never felt so attracted to anyone.
It felt strange. It felt good.
Was this the love everyone talked about in movies? He hardly knew her 24 hours back but now it felt like he had been living with her for ages. It felt like having someone for himself and only himself.
Smiling to himself, he took the towel off her shoulder and fortunately or unfortunately, the saree pallu also came off. She gasped and held on to her saree shocked. Before both of them could say anything, thunder struck and she held on to him tight, breathing faster. The wind came in carrying drizzles through the open door. She didn't move, their breath rate rapidly rising. He held her shoulders and she slowly released her grip from his vest. He took his arms to her cheeks and made her look at him. She looked at him straight in his eyes. He could hear her breathes and she could hear his. Her mind went blank. She couldn't and didn't want to think of anything. She just closed her eyes when he leaned towards her. She felt time go still when his lips met hers, shocked to find her body responding without waiting for her mind's opinion on the subject. She put her hands lightly around his neck. Was this for real or just another one of her imaginations?
She opened her eyes expecting it to be a dream, but it wasn't. He also opened his eyes and let go slowly. He loosened his grip and looked at her. She wasn't angry. She wasn't smiling either. Her left hand was still around his neck. She dragged her right hand to his chest feeling his heartbeat.
Her forehead creased into a frown, but he gave her no time to react, bending over to kiss her again; his mouth so delicious and tender on hers. Giving in, she reached up to tangle her hands in his hair, losing herself in the pleasure of his kiss. He kissed with a tender gentleness that somehow contained within it an almost overwhelming passion.
He slipped a hand to the small of her back and pulled her close, the warmth of his body inviting her closer as she surrendered to his arms. She felt tears running slowly down her cheeks. She found herself longing to belong to him. She wanted to believe that he wanted her just as he pulled away. He came back to reality. He didn't know how to react. What he did was a mistake. He must say sorry, but he didn't want to say it because he wasn't sorry. He wasn't sorry for kissing her. He wanted time to be still. He wanted to be with her and only her. He wanted her to be his. His worst fear was her past, what if there was a man in her past? Nevertheless, he started saying, "I.."
To his surprise, she kissed him, putting an end to his guilt. He put a hand up to cradle her cheek and looked at her with an intensity that made her incapable of looking away.
"Thulasi"
She smiled and closed her eyes as he slowly caressed her forehead, her eyes, her cheeks with his lips. He put the strand of wet hair which fell on her face behind her ears; his fingers tracing a water droplet down her ears to the nape of her neck. She shivered as he kissed her neck. She turned and he put his arm around her waist and hugged her from behind resting his chin on her shoulder; caressing her cheek with his. She held his face and kissed his cheek. With one arm still around her, he wiped off the wetness on the tattoo. His eye caught sight of the string he had tied this morning. He smiled weakly, his heart rate increased and with his shivering hands, he undid the string. She opened her eyes in shock and turned to look at him. He also looked at her, realizing maybe he had gone too far. Thunder struck again, this time it shook them and both of them lost their balance and they fell on the bed soaking themselves in the rain of their new found love.

The sky cleared, the storm ended, the rain stopped, the sun began to set, the birds traveled back to their nests...
She smiled and turned over on her bed to hug him. She found an empty space and she opened her eyes to find him gone. She woke up with a little shock. She looked around, there was no trace of him. She got up and walked to the door to find no one.
"Tamizh?", she called out weakly.
She looked at the chair, the shirt was gone.
Puzzled she looked around for a small sign of his presence.
She looked out of the window at the woods, still moist; glistening in the sun's rays. Where was he? Did he leave her?
No, that thought killed her even more than not knowing her real name.
She closed her eyes and the day's conversation came to her and she remembered how he had said he wouldn't marry anyone. Did it mean that she was just another girl for his pleasures?
Her heart ached like never before.
Even if it was that he was cheating on her, she wanted to hug him and only him for solace.
She didn't cry. She didn't regret. She loved him.

Quoting from Episode 9
"Let's meet at our tree-house."
"Wait. I can't come. I'm in-charge of security for the minister's son's marriage tomorrow."

Episode 11

"So you are telling me that the thief just ran away when he saw you and you just took it down to the tree-house because of the storm rather than going to the police station? How can I believe that? Tell me Tamizh. What are you hiding from me?", Anand insisted again.
Anand continued his chatter, "I hope the constable has got the car back to the minister's house safely. I should arrest you but I have no other go but to buy your stupid story. After all you are my friend and a police informer. By the way have you bought Charu a farewell present? The flight is at 11 tomorrow. We have to be at the airport by 8 and..."
Tamizh wasn't listening. Was it right to leave her like that? She would be sleeping. What if she woke up? If she finds ou that he isn't there, she might think he left her and might even attempt to kill herself again.
"Oh my God! No!"
"What?" alarmed Anand stopped the police car. He turned to see Tamizh sweating profusely.
Confused Anand asked, "Tamizh! Are you alright?"
Tamizh, "Turn the car! We have to go to the tree-house and I have to tell you something."

Thulasi came out of the house and got down the tree. She noticed the car also gone. She felt a tear but she wiped it off with a determined look. She wasn't going to cry. He might have gone to get food, she consoled herself. She looked up to the sky as she sat on the last step of the tree-house stairs. It was twilight.

Deepa and Praba were seating alone in a corner in the wedding hall with random people being busy about their "not too much interested" marriage. Where was Shruthi? That was the only question on Deepa's mind while Praba was busy texting his girl friend occasionally both of them looked at each-other and smiled away the awkwardness. Just then Suchi walked in giving a heart attack to Praba. He saw his mother taking her away to a room and both of them were smiling and laughing. It hit him that she hadn't come to meet him but his mother, which made him more uncomfortable because he got casual lovey-dovey messages.

Bhuvana to Suchi inside a room with closed windows and door, "Suchi, don't worry! It is all because of my father. He made a will that the whole of properties and the company would go to Deepa and it would be transferable or saleable only if she is married; if she dies before that it will go to the orphanage. The only way it would go to Praba is if he marries her. That's is not all, after she dies he will get it, everything in the name of her husband, whoever it is. So maximum 2 months and after that she is going to die. So please don't disturb him till then, because if she comes to know about it earlier she can easily transfer it to anyone else's name."
Suchi, "But Praba said that he is going to divorce her."
Bhuvana, "You know him. He is a softie. He will not agree if he gets to know this."
Suchi, "How can I be sure that you will not do anything to me later?"
Bhuvana, "I would not be telling you this, if I didn't know you enough. I know you love Praba more than anything. He will be happy with you. That's what I want."

"Thulasi!", Tamizh got off the car and hurried towards her. Thulasi smiled when she saw him and ran towards him, but stopped outrightly when she saw a police officer get down from the car. Tamizh went next to her and held her hands and gave her a comforting pat, "Don't worry, Thulasi! Anand is here to help us." Thulasi looked at Tamizh confused and wasn't so happy to see a third person. Actually she didn't even bother to know her past now that she knew her future was with Tamizh. Anand, who was usually a cool guy, stood in his place stunned at the fair maiden in front of him. He slowly brought his hands to his cheek, remembering a tight slap from the same lady in a totally different attire. She looked so homely and pious now; but the girl in his memory was modern and powerful, "Miss Shruthi?" Tamizh looked at him amazed, "You? You mean? You..You know her?", he turned to Thulasi, "Did you hear him? Miss Shruthi. I have never been more happy. He called you a 'miss'." Thulasi gave him a sly look and he looked at her with more love, letting out a sign of relief. Anand, "Have you really lost your memory? How come? But what are you doing here? You should be in the US. Your visa has elapsed and you have to be deported. What are you still doing here? You are an American citizen!"

"Here you go. 2 passports."
"They look so real. Thank you so much.", the man from the subway handed over a suitcase in exchange for the two passports.
"I don't need your thank you. The amount is correct; now don't waste time here. Go. You are not to disclose our place to the police, if at all you get caught, or you will regret it."
