Katherine. He spent more than a century waiting for the comet to pass so he could bring her back, what more could possibly justify his love for her? I feel he still loves her actually, or he wouldn't be taking all this shit from her. I mean, he's all normal around her and he still brings up the topic of how she chose his brother over him..it still stings him to see that she loved Stefan. It's definitely going to take him more than just a mere month to get over his century-old love for Katherine. It's not like he can just replace his love with hate in that short of a time span.
