Feelings: Chapter 6
The next morning, Kiya woke up with a slight headache. She squeezed half a lemon in a glass of soda and drank it in one breathe. She felt relieved after some time. That day KD told Kiya to meet him as he wanted to buy a gift for Panchi for her birthday. Kiya met him near the Infinity Mall and they started finding a gift for her. While they were still shopping, Kiya got a call from Ranveer.
"Hello Ranveer. I am at Infinity with Keshu... KD." She hit her forehead with her hand.
"Your friendship with KD is growing every day. What's going on?" he asked.
"He wants to buy gift for Panchi, that's why he asked me to accompany him so that I can choose some gift. I had called you to inform about this but you did not answer my phone."
"That's because I have work, I am not idle like you and KD. I am busy with my internship under one of the finest architecture of our city, do you even understand the meaning of it? What you guys are doing? I will call Panchi and talk to her." Ranveer admonished.
"Shut up Ranveer, this is a surprise gift for her, please don't call her. You have a problem with me right? Why are you bringing them between us. He has not done anything and why are you always after him. He will see what he has to do; does he bother you in any way?"
"OMG. So for Kiya madam, her boyfriend is nothing but KD, her so called friend, is a great person. Are you sure you guys are just friends? I mean anything is possible in today's world." Ranveer shouted.
"That's it Ranveer, you are crossing your limits now. I can't believe your thinking is so cheap. I am ashamed of you and your beliefs. I hate you."
She hung the phone. KD understood the situation and tried to console her. He told her they should leave and dropped her home. Kiya was continuously looking at her cell phone. She was expecting a call from Ranveer, but he didn't call. It was a horrible day for her. She was not ready to accept what he said to her. KD too received Panchi's call. They had a fight too, Ranveer had called her to tell about this. Panchi was badly shouting at KD as if he had committed some big crime.
Few days passed. Kiya and KD did not call each other. Kiya was unable to understand what exactly was happening to her. She and Ranveer patched up later, but still there was some emptiness in her heart. She used to call KD but he never received nor called her back. Panchi had started ignoring Kiya from that day. She used to eye Kiya disdainfully. Kiya felt like whacking her at times, but then, decided to remain cool.
A few days later Kiya thought of calling KD again. But she ended up messaging him
'What happened to you? Why are you not calling me? Call me asap!'
KD did not call, neither did he replied to her message. Half an hour later she went to a nearby P.C.O. and dialed his number.
"Hello..Hello...who's this.Hello?" said KD.
Kiya did not speak for a long time, KD too didn't disconnect the call, he kept asking who is on the line. She hung the phone after a while. She started walking towards her home and after taking a few steps she came back to the same P.C.O. once again and dialed his number.
"Hello... who's this?"
"What do you think of yourself? Why aren't you calling me from so many days? I called you several times, messaged you... but no reply from your side. What happened Keshu, have I done anything wrong? Tell me please." She said this almost breaking into tears.
"Kiya, I want to meet you, can you come at the Rustomjee Park in half an hour?" he asked.
Kiya saw KD sitting on a bench in the park. She went there and stood in front of him. He gestured her to sit besides him. He did not speak for a long time. Kiya was silent too. After a few minutes he spoke-
"I am sorry, Kiya. It's all my fault." He was tensed and sad.
Kiya was unable to understand what was happening. She was amazed and confused to see KD in such a state.
"I know you must be wondering that why didn't I pick your call or message you from so many days, but now the time has come to tell you why exactly these things are happening." He said.
"Tell me what has happened, I am listening." Kiya told him.
KD took a deep breath and started his confession-
Two years ago, in the evening, I was lying down in my room. I was tired that day, I was listening to music, Ruchi was busy watching some television show in her room. After some time a doorbell rang, I called Ruchi several times but she did not answer me. I was very irritated by this, I went in her room and found out that she was in deep sleep and so couldn't hear my voice or the doorbell. I went to open the door. Where did I know that my heart was going to miss a few heart beats soon. I opened the latch and pushed the door back, and that was it, I saw a girl standing in a cute blue fork, her hair tied.
She was asking me something but I was not able to understand it. I was so much lost in her, there was something in her, unusual than other girls. One word that came to my mind after seeing her was 'BEAUTIFUL...' I would love to see her as my wife. I don't know how this came to my mind. I didn't know what happened to me to think in such a manner. She came inside and asked me about Ruchi. I gestured her that she is in her room. She went inside Ruchi's room and along with her, took all my attention too. I was becoming crazy for her. Her one glimpse took over all my tiredness; I was feeling full of energy. She came out to take few books from Ruchi's shelf, I don't know how I stopped myself, but I felt like holding her hand and grabbing her in my arm, I wanted to feel her, I wanted to kiss her hand and ask her to be mine forever. She, on the other hand, was just casual. I felt like asking her as to how she can remain so cool after doing this magic on me. I wanted to tell her that I would give her all the happiness in the world, respect and love her as my wife and cuddle her when she feels like a baby. I had no idea what love at first sight meant, but I wanted to say to her that I LOVE YOU AND I WANT TO LIVE FOR YOU! But before I would have behaved in any stupid way in front of her, I thought of leaving from there. I went downstairs but my mind was still lost in her. I knew if I would have confessed it to Ruchi then she would have not liked it at all. I went home after some time, but she was not there. I had known her earlier too through Ruchi but that day she was someone different. It was you Kiya. After that day I decided to forget about you. A few months later Panchi proposed me. After thinking a lot on it, I agreed. Once again you came in my life through Panchi. I did not understand why God was playing with me. Later, I came to know that you are dating Ranveer, I liked the way he used to care for you, I felt happy. The day when Ranveer and Panchi fought with us, I realized that they were correct. I don't know what we exactly feel for each other now, but I know that you love Ranveer and I love Panchi. Kish, I think we should end our friendship here. I know you are not at fault but to avoid futher problems and misunderstandings, we should end it here.
KD looked at Kiya's eyes after confessing that bitter truth. He felt as if she was hurt. Kiya stood from there and went outside the park. She immediately went home and did not speak to anyone that day. She was in a state of shock, not able to understand what is going on in her life.
She was stuck up between many complications. She liked and respected KD but never had those feelings for him. From that day, both stopped talking to each other. She decided to concentrate on her studies. She used to miss KD badly and also their late night chats. Every night, she used to pick her cell phone up and try to call KD. But, after dialing his number, she used to delete it and go back to sleep. Life with Ranveer was steady, although they had small and at times big fights.
And the day came which changed their life like hell. A dream that changed everything. Life turned upside down and everything was left shattered...
