Chapter 52Bihaan who was deep in his sleep, got disturbed by a scream. He quickly opened his eyes and noticed Thapki sitting in the bed looking at the wall with a scared look on her face. He quickly got closer to her and shook her by her arm.
Bihaan: "Thapki... Thapki... Wat happened Thapki?"
Thapki did not respond for the first few seconds but as soon as she realised Bihaan's presence, she quickly and very tightly hugged him. Bihaan comforted her for few seconds and then asked.
Bihaan: "Did u have a bad dream?"
Thapki (in a very low voice) "Yes"
Bihaan wanted to know wat scared her that much but decided to give her some time to recover first. He himself was a victim of bad dreams all his life so he knew how one feels right after waking up from a nightmare.
After some time when he realised that Thapki had calmed down, he inquired her abt her dream. Thapki wanted to tell him the truth but she knew that mention of Dhruv will make Bihaan upset so she lied saying she saw herself falling from a high cliff. Bihaan put her head on his chest and put her to sleep while assuring her that he is with her and nthg bad can ever happen to her in his presence.

Since the announcement of Preeti's gaud bharai, the whole female gang was mostly found around Dadi having discussion abt the day. This time again the whole female gang was sitting in Dadi's room taking instructions from Dadi abt everything. For a change this time, Dadi had given the food duties to Kiran and Sheena. Suman was responsible for the invitation list where as Vasu was handling the things which were important for the main rituals. Thapki for a change was given the duties of decorating the house. Thapki was feeling very excited abt it. Dadi told her to go to store and make a list of the items that were already there. She hurriedly left to do her task.
She was in the store when Bihaan returned home. He asked Preeti abt Thapki and she told her abt Thapki's current location. Bihaan decided to meet her there.
Thapki was busy opening a box to see wat's in it when a small rat jumped out of it and started running towards a safe corner. Thapki screamed and started running out when she collided with Bihaan who was just entering the store. She could have fallen but Bihaan's tight grip stopped her from having a bad fall.
Bihaan: "Be careful Thapki... U could have fallen and hurt urself so bad if I had not come to catch u"
Thapki: "U always save me from getting hurt. Please be always there for me like this so that I never get hurt"
Bihaan wanted to seal the promise with a kiss but got interrupted by Suman's "ahem ahem" who was just passing by the store. Bihaan and Thapki both hurriedly left the store while Suman's laughter followed them.

Dhruv and Shradha were sitting in an expensive restaurant. Dhruv was having coffee while Shradha was taking small sips from the glass of fresh orange juice.
Shradha: "Our date tonight reminded me of the old times before our marriage. We used to come to this restaurant a lot"
Dhruv: "And before that we used to go for our shopping trips like today"
Shradha: "Ya that too but y it seems that we have grown apart since last few months. It seems that everything has changed"
Dhruv: "Nthg has changed. Its just that we have become so busy in our lives that we do not have much time to spend together"
Shradha: "May be but there r other ppl around us who seem so happy when together... I miss being like them"
Dhruv: "Who r u talking abt?"
Shradha: "No one in specific. Just look around us and u will find so many couples having carefree smiles"
Shradha lied to Dhruv as she was thinking abt Thapki and Bihaan and how they seemed to glow around each other. The love between them could be sensed from miles away.
Dhruv: "If u r done with ur juice then we must leave. I will drop u home and will leave for some business"
Shradha took few sips from the juice and let the half glass on the table. She asked Dhruv to move. Dhruv not even once asked her to finish her juice. It seemed as if he was waiting to leave. The sadness in Shradha's eyes was not hidden from Dhruv but he did not want to get late for his party with his friends. The two quietly left the restaurant.

Bihaan was doing some work on his laptop when Thapki excitedly entered the room. She put the cup of tea on Bihaan's bed side table and sat on the bed right in front of him.
Thapki: "Bihaan I need ur help"
Bihaan: "Wat for?"
Thapki: "Help me to choose the color of my dress"
Bihaan: "Which dress?"
Thapki: "The one I will be wearing for the function"
Bihaan: "Oh. So which options do we have?"
Thapki: "I can have any color dress is wat Dadi has told me. She is making same dress for all bahus but in different colors"
Bihaan: "Wow lucky u. So select any color of ur choice"
Thapki: "But I want u to select na"
Bihaan: "Y me?"
Thapki: "Coz I want to get ready in a color of ur choice... so that I look gud for the love of my life"
Bihaan put the laptop aside and looked at Thapki.
Bihaan: "I wanted to tell u this earlier but u were so busy the whole day that I did not get the time to do so"
Thapki: "Wat is it Bihaan?"
Bihaan: "Bau ji is starting a new line of business for Sanjay and Ashwin. And I am handling the whole starting setup. As Bau ji has not told any one abt it so I also can not disclose the details to any one at the moment. I am telling u this coz for that business I have to go to Delhi for some important meetings"
Thapki: "U r going to Delhi but when and when will u be back?"
Bihaan: "I will be leaving tomorrow evening and will be back after a week"
Thapki: "Tomorrow?? A week??"
Bihaan: "Yes dear"
Thapki: "But the gaud bharai is in the few days and it means that u will not be here for that too"
Bihaan: "I wanted to be here but these meetings are important and can't be postponed"
Thapki looked at Bihaan with teary eyes.
Bihaan: "Wat happened Thapki? It is just one week time. I will be back soon and yes I forgot to give u sthg"
Thapki: "Wat?"
Bihaan took out one big and one small jewellery box. He first opened the big jewellery box and showed the gold set to Thapki.
Thapki: "Oh this is so pretty. Just like we ordered. But we wanted to give it to Preeti Bhabhi together and with u being not here... I feel so sad"
Bihaan: "To brighten up the mood of my lovely wife, I have a small gift for her too"
Bihaan opened the small box and took out a beautiful gold anklet. He asked Thapki to move her left foot on the bed and hooked the anklet in its place.
Bihaan: "I knew it will look perfect on u"
Thapki looked at the anklet and praised Bihaan's choice.
Thapki: "Bihaan this is so pretty. But y this gift and that too this expensive"
Bihaan: "I bought this for u coz I wanted this to dance with u at the function"
Thapki (blushing): "I am not dancing"
Bihaan: "Don't lie. Kiran has already told me abt ur latkas and jhatkas. So where did u learn these latkas and jhatkas from?"
Thapki: "From the DVDs that Preeti Bhabhi gave..."
Bihaan: "Oh My... Again those DVDs... So wat else u learnt from those?"
Thapki knew Bihaan was pulling her leg so she did not reply.
Bihaan (with a mischievous smile): "So when can I see u dancing?"
Thapki: "No never"
Bihaan: "Y not?"
Thapki: "I will never be able to shake a leg in front of u. I will be so nervous. No u can't"
To avoid any further discussion abt her dance, she quickly left the room.

Thapki was getting ready for the function. She was wearing a beautiful frock and churidaar pajama style peach and gold combination dress. She was wearing her golden sandals when she saw her anklet. This reminded her of Bihaan. She had been missing him badly. It had been 5 days since he had left and they had been talking regularly on phone since then. In fact she had spoken to him in the morning too but it seemed as if she had not spoken to him since ages. She touched the anklet and it felt like touching Bihaan.
With a sad face she took her dupata from the bed and opened the door of her room. She was abt to walk out when she realised that the perfume was missing. She walked back in and sprayed some perfume. She once again looked at herself in the mirror when she noticed Dhruv standing at her bedroom door staring at her. She turned towards him. He suddenly walked away. She felt strange and scared. She recalled the dream and quickly left the room to be with the whole family.

The whole function went so well. Everything was arranged perfectly. Thapki was praised not only for her beauty but for the decorations too. She was quite happy but there was sthg that actually troubled her the whole time. She felt like some one was looking at her through out. But the feeling of Bihaan being there with her through the anklet helped her in staying calm.
Finally the whole family gathered to give gifts to Preeti. Thapki went upstairs to bring the gold set, she and Bihaan had bought. She was abt to enter her bed room when some one held her from her waist and pulled her into the bedroom.
