He's her boss and significantly higher up in the corporate ladder and here is daydreaming about romancing this girl who's only ever just wanted to do the best job she could do. Does that make sense? I guess it always makes me uncomfortable when I see people in positions of power use that power in this way.

I totally agree with you.
Bold: I feel the same way. Not to mention the fact that when he confessed his love, he promised her that he will wait for her answer and the next morning he sent his mother to her house with a wedding proposal! He put her into a position where she couldn't say no.

His mother and he are two sides of the same coin. They are both controlling people who want other people to live only by their own high standards. Someone needs to teach them some good lessons in order to make them come back to Earth. Vasu fantasizes about a perfect life for his son with a perfect wife who will never ever get sick and Dhruv is daydreaming about a perfect society with no crime and sees himself as the shining knight who will make this happen only by the power of his show.
And does anyone believe that he made it to the top on his own with no help from his rich family, at such a young age? In a world full of corruption? I'm not saying that is not possible, but it is highly unrealistic at such a young age and also in such a competitive domain like mass-media.

I agree 100%. Dhruv-Thapki relationship was always one-sided and with too much power on that side. Thapki never really had much say in that.

relationship need not be so prim and proper. Most of the mills and boons stories had bosses and subordinates at loggerheads with each other at the beginning with sparks flying. No wonder thapki-bihaan exchanges are more fun to watch.

I have read 100s of mills and boons. Most of those with boss/subordinate romance are from 70s and 80s and would be categorized as sexual harassment these days. Many people at high positions get fired these days, when such relationships (even consensual ones) come to light as they are considered a misuse of power.

More to the point - As you say, there was no spark. Thapki never opposed Dhruv - even dreamed of doing anything that would go against him.

Well actually even after her marriage she felt so controlled by Dhruv that when ever she come face to face with him she just act like a docile doll...
Whereas with Bihaan she is always ready to snap bak... compete with him... strong...
The story is about Thapki who is strong...and it can only happen with Bihaan that she feel strong where ad with Dhruv she is just acts like a glass doll...

Even now, the way he's moping around, the way he was reacting when he rescued Thapki from the car and likely how he'll react during his whole situation makes me uncomfortable. Like I get that Thapki and Bihaan didn't want to marry but the fact still remains the woman is your brother's wife now and you're still moping around after her making doe eyes instead of trying to sort yourself out?

Thapki's reactions (mind you I haven't caught up on all the episodes yet and I usually skip most scenes with Dhruv in them - cause again guy creeps me out) are actually quite on point with how I thought she felt about him before the wedding. She wasn't in love with him like he was her. She felt this was a guy she could trust and was one of the good guys in her estimation and she could definitely grow to love him. She respected him and while she was shattered at having that bond of trust broken she wasn't heartbroken or heartsick.

Anyways. I've rambled on too long here. Thanks again for bringing this over and sharing!!

@bold
I agree with you.. thapki dhruv were shown to be as a Cinderella love story, very predicatable. I mean there was nothing new. "Boss falling for his bubbly young intern", we have seen that before million times.

Also, I believe thapki always saw Dhruv as someone whom she idolizes, not someone whom she loves. She respected him as a boss but that's different when you respect someone if you love him/her with heart.

The sad part is Dhruv is going to linger around for a while, because I think his feelings for thapki were genuine, and he is not going to forget thapki easily. Now it ONLY and ONLY depends on thapki to either accept this marriage and move on with Bihaan or keep hopes for Dhruv sir..😕

Yeah agreed... Dhruv also treats her as if she is very fragile and docile types, when she is actually made of sterner stuff! Thats what comes out so nicely in the open when she is with Bihaan! He is like reinforcing concrete in her life!!:-) I mean he adds more strength!

And I love strong females who can stand up for themselves!
