Anyways, I don't watch Siya Ke Ram. I actually am interested in reading Ramayan from Sitas' perspective. From a woman's perspective and what all she went thru and would a woman want Lord Ram for a husband, etc, etc, - intriguing... I'm sure its controversial - my last part of the statement! Its actually a shame to say something like that being a Hindu...
Devdutt Pattanaik's works is supposed to be good... It has been recommended to me by a friend, which I am yet to read. Mahabharath is much more interesting and complex than Ramayan I would say - In fact my favourite as a story is the Mahabharath.

Hey Amina.. If you want to read some mythological novels, try THE PALACE OF ILLUSION. It is from Draupadi's perspective and very intriguing. For new mythological novels' information, try this site www.mywritingmyworld.wordpress.com

Honestly? From what I have heard, Mahabharat does sound more interesting to me simply because it seems to be more complex 😛 Hence, why I was interested in Jaya.

You know, I once held a presentation about Hinduism in school, it's been a long while, and the scripts especially important I mentioned, I think, were the Vedas, Puranas etc... But to be frank, it was a simple presentation.

Exile is something I am OK with Amina... Sita voluntarily goes along... I dunno whether you know the story - its something like Sita gets kidnapped by Ravana and Ram goes on a war with Ravana and brings her back... Whch is all so romantic... But later he returns and becomes the King. Sita gets pregnant and people start talking abt her - that she stayed at Ravana's palace. Eventually Sita is thrown out of the kingdom by Lord Ram. So a pregnant queen is in the forest in search of food and shelter - this is the part I am not OK with. Lord Ram as a husband should have trusted his wife is my take...

Actually Mahabharath is really exceptional. As they say, there is nothing in this world that has not already happened or dealt with in the Mahabharath. Its vast and complex.

Yes of course we have Vedas and Puranas and Upanishads which are the vedic scriptures. All our rituals are mostly based on them - the vedas... Of course its too much to even think of understanding one at least.

Sorry for boring u with so much details... But I can really go on and on abt the Mahabharath...

You read the books, hats off, bhai.😆I brought book 5, but couldn't get over the first few pages. Maybe because I had already watched all five seasons. Strong heart, tell me about it. I cried for days when Rob Strak died, but then eventually I got adjusted to the amount gruesome murders and now I watch only for the politics and Tyrion😉

Well, not all of them, but yes, books 😆 And really? I love Tyrion, as well! Who couldn't? His wits, his character - everything! And apart from him, my absolute fav is Jon Snow - and I won't believe he is no more until Martin gets done with the next book! 😛

@Dplee: Sure, join in! And yes, I have heard of that book. I like fictional works on these things a lot, as well 😉

Ah. Hm, well, I read people write that Ram was aware of Sita's innocence but his responsibility towards his people outweight his love for his wife or something. But I do see why this aspect is regarded critically by many! It does sound harsh, especially since Sita was pregnant. Did they ever re-unite?

And don't worry about it 😆 I know what you mean - get me started on Karbala or the lives (biographies) of any of the Masumeen [prophet Muhammad [s] and his Ahl-ul-Bait [a], e.g. daughter and successors from her progeny (and her husband, of course)] or, to some extent, Nahjul Balagha [which I am getting more familiar with] and I wouldn't be able to stop, either! It's the pure love speaking 😳

Yes u r right... As a king Lord Ram was obligated to throw Sita out but as a husband it was wrong. Must have been very difficult for him to take a decision as well... And the fact is he is a ekapatnivrathastha - meaning one woman man and he never remarries... but still how does it save Sita from all the turmoil she went thru. She was entitled for protection from her husband, but she dint get that when she needed it most. And they never re-unite. She refuses to accompany Lord Ram when he calls her back and asks the Goddess Bhuvaneshwari, I think (Mother Earth) to take her away. So she never reunites with Lord Ram and he returns to his kingdom with his two children - Lav and Khush. A sad story that is...

Good u understand... Sometimes I write so much and I feel guilty abt boring with such things!!! 😆

@Desire and Amina
GOT is has been highly recommend to me but haven't watched it so far as I stay from violent/gory stuff. I love horror and thriller but not slasher stuff.

About Siya ke Ram - I am skeptical they far they will go in showing the story from her perspective and how different it is going from other soaps. All soap FL lead are mahan, self-less, pati-vrata, scarficing being. How can sita maiya even hope to compete with them? I would be more interested in seeing it from Laxman's perspective especially his guilt after sita is kidnapped.

@Maty: A tragedy, then, is it? Sounds like Sita stood up for her self-respect by refusing to go back with Ram. Though, kind of sad for the kids 😒

@Priya: Sure, just jump in whenever you like 😆 And yes, I think Zindagi Gulzar Hai is a Pak show, though, I'm not watching it, am watching Gul-e-Rana! And Maty, do try Pak shows out! After watching Diyar e Dil, you can't imagine how stunned I was that the Pak show industry has improved this much! They have good material!

@Katori: Then, you should stay away from GOT 😆 It's either, you hate it or you are intrigued - and as I said, mass-murder of characters!

Hm, so are you following that show? I guess it's a main point of concern for many that it's from Sita's POV so, there's a huge chance of femenism-touches to infiltrate it 🤔 Just hope they don't villify majority of the men, lol. And I see! Yes, Lakshman seems to have been an amazing brother- I love me some good bromance, as you guys know 😆

Btw, Fatima kaha hai, aj kal? Wanna know if you know Main rahu ya na rahun by Nadeem Sarwar? (To be found in my sig) I swear, I'm not getting this out of my ears 😭 If you have not heard it, yet, then do listen to it! Beautiful lines, it has! ❤️

Zakhmon pe zakhm pyaas ki shiddat mein khawunga
Lekin mein nana jaan se wada nibhaunga

Razi ho mujhse mera khuda chahta hun mein
Mein hun Hussain sab ka bhala chahta hun mein

Mein aur karun yazeed ki bay'at? nahin nahin

I adore Tyrion but after Rob, I have always kept my expectations low. You never know what's going on in Martin's mind. Any idea when Mr.Martin will complete his sixth book? Jon's fate seems to be in a catch-22 situation.
Otherwise, you might have to catch up on the TV series to see your fav's fate.😳
