After receiving Sahiba's message with her phone number, Angad couldn't help but smile. He quickly typed out a reply, expressing his gratitude for her sharing her number and assuring her that he was looking forward to talking to her soon.

Later that evening, as Angad sat in his room, he decided to give Sahiba a call. He took a deep breath and dialed her number. After a few rings, Sahiba answered.

"Hello, Sahiba? It's Angad."

"Hi, Angad! How are you?" Sahiba's voice was warm and welcoming.

"I'm good, thanks. I just thought it would be nice to hear your voice instead of just texting," Angad replied, feeling a bit nervous but excited.

"That's sweet of you," Sahiba said, smiling. "I'm glad you called."

They talked about their day, their interests, and shared stories that made them laugh. As the conversation progressed, they started talking about their unexpected connection.

"Isn't it funny how we met through work, but then found out our fathers are childhood friends?" Angad remarked.

"It really is," Sahiba agreed. "It's almost like fate or destiny brought us together. I mean, what are the chances?"

"I know, right? It feels like everything is falling into place perfectly. I had no idea about our fathers' history until recently," Angad said thoughtfully.

"Neither did I. My dad never mentioned it before. It's amazing to think they were close friends who lost touch, and now, here we are," Sahiba replied.

"Maybe it's a sign," Angad suggested. "I mean, our fathers reconnected through us. There has to be some kind of special reason for that."

Sahiba laughed softly. "Maybe. It's a nice thought, though. It makes this whole arranged marriage situation feel a bit more natural and less forced."

"Exactly. It feels like we're not just following our families' wishes, but also something bigger," Angad said.

"I'm glad you see it that way," Sahiba said, feeling reassured. "It makes me feel more comfortable about everything."

"Me too. And I'm really looking forward to getting to know you better, both personally and professionally," Angad said with a smile in his voice.

"Same here, Angad. I'm excited to see where this journey takes us," Sahiba replied.

Eventually, they said their goodbyes, both looking forward to their next chat.

As the night progressed, Angad found himself unable to shake off the excitement of their conversation. He tossed and turned in bed, his mind filled with thoughts of Sahiba and their conversation at the café. Eventually, he drifted off into a restless sleep, dreaming of what the future might hold.

As the weekend flew by with constant messages and phone calls exchanged between Angad and Sahiba, Monday arrived, signaling their return to the office. Sahiba couldn't shake off a sense of shyness as she entered the workplace, especially when she caught sight of Veer and Garry passing by with teasing smiles.

Trying to maintain her composure, Sahiba greeted her colleagues with a polite nod and made her way to her desk. However, her heart fluttered with anticipation at the thought of seeing Angad again after their weekend of messaging and phone conversations.

Throughout the day, Sahiba found herself stealing glances at Angad whenever she could, her cheeks flushing pink each time their eyes met. Despite her efforts to focus on her work, her mind kept drifting back to their conversations over the weekend, leaving her feeling both nervous and excited.

As Sahiba entered Angad's office to discuss the design, Angad greeted her with a warm smile, his eyes lighting up at her presence.

"Hey, Sahiba! Glad you could make it," Angad said, gesturing for her to take a seat opposite his desk.

"Hi, Angad! Thanks for having me," Sahiba replied, returning his smile as she settled into the chair.

Angad leaned forward slightly, eager to hear Sahiba's thoughts on the design. "So, what do you think about the latest concept? I'm really curious to hear your feedback."

Sahiba nodded, flipping through the papers on the desk as she carefully examined the designs. "I think it's looking great so far. The color palette you've chosen really complements the overall theme, and the layout is quite engaging.”

Angad's face lit up with satisfaction at Sahiba's praise. "Thanks! I'm glad you like it. But I'm open to any suggestions or changes you might have in mind."

Sahiba nodded thoughtfully, her brow furrowing slightly as she considered the design. "Well, perhaps we could tweak the placement of these elements here to create a more cohesive flow..."

As they delved deeper into the discussion, Sahiba and Angad exchanged ideas and bounced suggestions off each other, their collaboration resulting in a refined and improved design concept. Despite the professional setting, there was an undeniable chemistry between them, evident in the easy rapport and shared enthusiasm for their work.

As Sahiba paused by the door, Angad's words made her turn back, a curious expression on her face.

"Sahiba, before you go, I wanted to talk to you about something important," Angad began, his tone gentle yet earnest.

Sahiba nodded, her interest piqued. "Of course, Angad. What is it?"

Angad took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts before speaking. "Well, I wanted to know how you feel about the proposal that our families have put forward. I understand if you have any reservations or questions, and I'm here to address them."

Sahiba nodded appreciatively, considering his words before speaking. "Thank you, Angad. Actually, I do have a couple of questions."

"Sure, go ahead. I'm all ears," Angad replied, his expression open and attentive.

Sahiba took a moment to gather her thoughts before continuing. "Firstly, I'm curious about your family's acceptance of me. I mean, I know our fathers are childhood friends, but how do they feel about our potential match?"

Angad nodded, understanding her concern. "I understand your apprehension, Sahiba. But rest assured, my family respects and values our fathers' friendship, and they're open-minded about our relationship. They're more interested in your qualities and compatibility with me."

Sahiba nodded, reassured by Angad's response. "That's good to know. And what about my career? I'm passionate about my work, and I wouldn't want that to be affected."

Angad smiled, nodding in agreement. "I completely understand, Sahiba. Your career is important, and I wouldn't want you to compromise on that. My family respects your dedication and talent, and they're supportive of your professional aspirations. We can work together to ensure that both our careers thrive."

Sahiba felt a sense of relief wash over her as Angad addressed her concerns with sincerity and understanding. She realized that he was not just her boss but also someone who genuinely cared about her well-being and happiness. With a grateful smile, she thanked Angad for his honesty and openness, feeling more confident about the path ahead.

As the Brar family gathered around the dinner table, settling into their seats for the evening meal, Inder's phone rang.

"Sasri Kaal Ajit- Kiy Haal Hain," Inder greeted warmly as he answered the call. The mention of Ajit's name piqued everyone's curiosity, and as soon as Inder disconnected the call, Manveer couldn't resist asking, "What was Ajit ji saying?"

"Manveer, Ajit has invited us all over to their place tomorrow," Inder informed the eager family members.

Jaspal nodded in agreement, a smile spreading across his face. "Indeed, it'll be nice to catch up with Ajit after so long."

Kiara and Ekam exchanged glances, their curiosity piqued. "I wonder if it's about Sahiba and Angad Paaji," Kiara mused.

Chapter 13

As the Brar family made preparations to visit the Monga house, they busied themselves selecting gifts and ensuring everything was in order for the occasion. Excitement filled the air as they anticipated the reunion with their old friends.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Santosh and Ajit were fully engrossed in making arrangements to welcome their guests. The house was adorned with decorations, and delicious aromas wafted from the kitchen as Santosh prepared a feast fit for the occasion. They had also prepared some gifts too.

Seerat, at her own residence, was preoccupied with her own thoughts, while Sahiba diligently attended to her work at the office. Keerat, on the other hand, was immersed in her college activities, eagerly awaiting the day's events to unfold.

Before the Brar family arrived at the Monga house, Santosh called Sahiba to her side. With a warm smile, she presented Sahiba with a beautifully wrapped gift.

"Sahiba, beta, I got this suit for you. I want you to wear it today," Santosh said, her eyes shining with excitement. "You'll look absolutely stunning in it, dear."

Sahiba's eyes widened with surprise and gratitude as she accepted the gift from her mother. "Thank you, Mummy. It's lovely," she responded, touched by her mother's thoughtfulness.

Seerat, who was nearby, observed the exchange with a hint of jealousy flickering in her eyes. She couldn't help but feel overshadowed by Sahiba's presence, especially when her mother lavished such attention on her.

Santosh, noticing Seerat's reaction, gave her a reassuring smile before turning back to Sahiba. "Hurry up and get ready, beta. We want to make sure everything is perfect before our guests arrive," she said, gently urging Sahiba to go and change into the new suit.

With a nod and a smile, Sahiba headed off to her room to prepare for the arrival of the Brar family, leaving Seerat to grapple with her feelings of envy.

As the Brar family arrived at the Monga household, they were warmly greeted by Santosh and Ajit, who welcomed them with open arms. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and chatter as the two families came together for this special occasion.

Santosh's sister, Sudha, along with her husband and children, had also joined the gathering, adding to the joyful ambiance of the event. Amidst the bustling activity, Ajit's younger sister, Amrit, arrived with her husband and children, completing the familial gathering. The house was abuzz with excitement as relatives and loved ones mingled, sharing stories and creating cherished memories together.

As the excitement of the reunion filled the air, Angad's aunties couldn't contain their curiosity about Sahiba, whom they had heard so much about. They huddled together in a corner, exchanging whispers and excited chatter about the much-anticipated meeting.

"Have you seen Sahiba yet? I've been dying to meet her!" exclaimed Jasleen, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

Gurleen nodded eagerly. "Not yet, but I hear she's absolutely lovely. Manveer Prajai couldn't stop talking about her."

Pravjot joined in, her voice filled with anticipation. "I hope she's as wonderful as they say. It's not every day that we get to meet someone who could potentially join our family!"

As they continued to eagerly await Sahiba's arrival, their excitement only grew, and they couldn't help but wonder what she would be like in person.

Angad sat with his cousins, trying to appear nonchalant, but his eyes couldn't help but scan the room in search of Sahiba. Veer noticed his restlessness and couldn't resist teasing him.

"Angad Paaji, calm down," Veer quipped with a mischievous grin. "You've seen her at the office, and you're still this excited to see her here? Looks like someone's smitten!"

Garry chuckled, adding to the teasing. "Yeah, Angad, you're not fooling anyone. We all know you've got it bad for Sahiba or should i say Sahiba Bhabhi!"

Angad rolled his eyes, trying to play it cool despite the playful ribbing from his cousins. Deep down, though, he couldn't deny the flutter of anticipation in his chest at the thought of seeing Sahiba again.

As the three Monga sisters entered the room, Sahiba stood between Seerat and Keerat. They greeted everyone with a warm "Sasrikaal," their presence instantly drawing attention.

Sahiba, dressed in a traditional light pink suit adorned with gold embellishments, exuded grace and elegance. Her demeanor reflected a blend of confidence and humility as she made her way through the room.

Seerat, Sahiba's elder sister, stood beside her, radiating an air of maturity and poise. Clad in a vibrant saree, she carried herself with a dignified charm, her demeanor, adorned with wedding chooda, reflective of her married status.

On the other hand, Keerat, the youngest of the sisters, exuded youthful energy and innocence.

As they moved gracefully through the gathering, their arrival marked the beginning of an evening filled with warmth, laughter, and familial bonds.

As Sahiba gracefully greeted the elders, her warmth and respect immediately won them over. Kiara and Ekam, Angad's cousins, quickly found common ground with Sahiba, engaging in lively conversation and sharing laughter.

Meanwhile, Angad found himself engrossed in conversation with Sahiba's family, exchanging pleasantries and learning more about them. His aunts, observing Sahiba's demeanor and grace, couldn't help but be impressed.

Gurleen: "Did you notice Sahiba's confidence and grace? She seems like the perfect match for Angad."

Jasleen: "Absolutely, Gurleen. And did you see how she effortlessly mingled with everyone? It's as if she's always been a part of our family."

Pravjot: "I agree. Sahiba has a natural charm about her. I hope it works out between her and Angad."

Their hushed conversation echoed the sentiments shared by many in the room, underscoring Sahiba's undeniable appeal and suitability for Angad.

As the youngsters gathered in one corner of the room, their attention was drawn to Angad and Sahiba, who seemed to share secret glances whenever they thought no one was looking. Sensing an opportunity to facilitate their interaction, Keerat leaned in towards Sahiba and whispered, "Di why don't you go to the kitchen?" She then turned to Angad and added, "And you can use the washroom, it's just past the kitchen." It was a subtle but effective way to give them a chance to connect away from prying eyes.

In the kitchen, Sahiba couldn't shake off the giddy feeling that washed over her, her heart fluttering with anticipation. When Angad arrived a few minutes later, she greeted him with a shy smile.

"Hi," she said softly, her cheeks flushed with a rosy hue.

"Hi," Angad replied, returning her smile. "You look really nice tonight, Sahiba."

Sahiba's cheeks flushed deeper at the compliment, and she murmured a quick "Thank you," before busying herself with pouring a glass of water.

As Sahiba gulped down the water, her nervousness apparent, Angad couldn't help but feel a twinge of concern. However, when they both burst into laughter, the tension dissolved, replaced by a strange yet pleasant camaraderie.

With a smile lingering on her lips, Sahiba set down the glass and turned to leave the kitchen. But before she could take a step, she leaned in closer to Angad and whispered, "It's a yes from me too. That's why Papa called your family."

Angad's eyes widened in pleasant surprise, his heart soaring with happiness. He watched as Sahiba blushed and hurried out of the kitchen, leaving him standing there, his mind buzzing with excitement and anticipation for what the future held.

After Sahiba came out of the kitchen with a blush on her face, the younger members of the family noticed her radiant expression. Angad followed her shortly after, wearing a contented smile. Observing their demeanor, the youngsters couldn't help but feel optimistic about the outcome of their private conversation. They exchanged knowing glances, silently acknowledging that something positive must have transpired between Sahiba and Angad in the kitchen.

The aroma of delicious Punjabi dishes filled the air as the food was served, delighting everyone's senses. Each dish was prepared with love and care, reflecting the warmth of the gathering.

As the Brar and Monga families savored the flavorful cuisine, laughter and conversation filled the room. The elders reminisced about old times while the younger generation bonded over shared interests and aspirations. With every bite, expressions of satisfaction and contentment adorned their faces, indicating their enjoyment of the delectable feast.

From traditional curries to fragrant rice dishes and freshly baked rotis, the spread offered something for every palate. Plates were filled and refilled, and compliments were exchanged between hosts and guests, further enhancing the joyous atmosphere of the occasion.

Amidst the clinking of utensils and the sound of animated chatter, the dining experience became a memorable celebration of togetherness, love, and the rich culinary heritage of Punjab.

After dinner, Inder and Ajit stepped outside for a private conversation. Inder, with anticipation in his voice, asked Ajit if Sahiba had made a decision yet. Ajit's face lit up with joy as he hugged Inder tightly, revealing that Sahiba had also agreed to the proposal. The two childhood friends embraced each other, congratulating one another on the new alliance.

Ajit and Inder walked back into the room, where everyone was gathered, chatting animatedly. Santosh noticed their return and called out to Sahiba.

Santosh: "Sahiba, puttar, can you go get the desserts for everyone, please?"

Sahiba (smiling): "Ji, Mummy."

Sahiba made her way to the kitchen to fetch the desserts, her heart fluttering with anticipation.

As Sahiba busied herself in the kitchen, Inder called Manveer aside, a wide smile spreading across his face.

Inder: "Manveer, Sahiba has agreed to the proposal!"

Manveer's eyes widened in delight, and she clasped her hands together in joy.

Manveer: "Oh, I knew it! I had a good feeling ever since Ajit ji called us over. I even brought a chunni for the rasam!"

Inder's smile widened even further, sharing in his wife's excitement.

Meanwhile, Ajit had also pulled Santosh aside, unable to contain his excitement.

Ajit: "Santosh, I've just told Inder that Sahiba has agreed!"

Santosh's face lit up with happiness as she hugged Ajit tightly.

Santosh: "That's wonderful news, Ajit!"

After serving desserts to everyone, Sahiba returned to the gathering, her cheeks flushed with a hint of shyness. Meanwhile, Ajit and Inder approached Daarthji, the eldest member of the family, to share the good news.

Inder: "Daarthji, I'm pleased to inform you that Sahiba has accepted our proposal!"

Daarthji's eyes sparkled with delight as he clasped his hands together in blessing.

Daarthji: "Waah! Ki khushi di gall hai! Rab ne tussi dono nu ikathe milaaya, bahut khushi di gall hai!" (Wow! What a joyous occasion! God has brought you both together, it's a matter of great happiness!)

The rest of the family, upon hearing Daarthji's words, erupted into cheers and applause, their faces beaming with happiness. Sahiba, feeling a mix of emotions, couldn't help but smile shyly at the warmth and excitement surrounding her decision. Angad was very happy.

Manveer: "Bebe, if you give us permission, can we do the chunni rasam today?"

Bebe: "Chunni rasam today? Why not! It's a wonderful idea."

Gurleen: "But what about the chunni?"

Manveer: "Well, I had a good feeling about today, so I brought a chunni and shagun with me."

Bebe: "That's wonderful! Then let's do it today itself!"

The family members smiled and nodded in agreement, pleased with the idea of proceeding with the chunni rasam that day.

Bebe gestured for Sahiba to take a seat, a warm smile gracing her face as she motioned for Angad to sit beside her. With a mischievous twinkle in her eye, Bebe urged Manveer to begin the rasam, eager to witness the traditional ritual unfold.

Manveer, with a playful grin, carefully draped a red and gold chunni over Sahiba's head, her nimble fingers deftly tying it in place. As the fabric cascaded over Sahiba's shoulders, the room erupted in cheers and applause, the air filled with excitement and jubilation.

Amidst the laughter and banter, Bebe couldn't resist teasing Sahiba and Angad, her jovial voice ringing out above the commotion. "Eh taan sahi gal hai, Sahiba te Angad ik dooje layi hi bane ne!" (This is the right match, Sahiba and Angad are made for each other!)

As the rasam concluded, Sahiba and Angad exchanged shy glances, their hearts filled with happiness and anticipation for the journey ahead. The room buzzed with lively conversation and joyous celebrations, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the two families.

Amidst the festive atmosphere, Veer and Garry seized the opportunity to tease Angad, their playful banter adding to the joyous celebration.

Veer, with a mischievous grin, nudged Angad. "Paaji, you're blushing more than Sahiba Bhabhi!" he teased, causing Angad to chuckle and shake his head.

Garry joined in, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Angad, you should've seen your face when Manveer Aunty put the chunni on Sahiba! Totally smitten, aren't you?"

Angad, though slightly embarrassed, couldn't help but laugh along with his cousins. "Alright, alright, you two. Enough teasing for now," he said, his voice light with happiness.

To be continued....
