I freaking love you Sammy! đ¤
As for your post, I WHOLE-HEARTEDLY SUPPORT THIS.
If you're having a problem - TALK. Don't feel scared of being judged or be intimidated by any means. If you have something to say, say it.
Don't think it works? Then listen to this.
These are all the ways that TEI, yes, THIS FORUM, filled with strangers living all across the globe have helped me out.
- When I was sexually harassed, they helped me to cope with what happened and reaffirmed that what happened was not my fault. It is an unfortunate event that had taken place and rather than having my life be defined by it, it is vital to learn from it and move on, stronger.
- When I was going through an existential crisis, they gave me strength by showing their encouragement and building confidence in me. These people, who have absolutely nothing to gain from helping me out, did so out of the goodness of their hearts. They did so because they care.
- When I was reconsidering my decision of continuing to write stories because of the whole plagiarism issue that had been taking place; they all banded together and helped to tackle this issue. They understood my stance of wishing to have some space but also stated, they would welcome back me back with open arms.
- When I was too caught up with the whole self-respect issue, things had become heated. But they still reached out and understood my perspective. People may not have wholly disagreed but they didn't use that to judge or personally attack me. That's simply not how we function.
Point is, if you have any sort of problem that you wish to talk about, do it. If you're not feeling comfortable doing it publicly by opening a thread as I may have, then send someone a PM. Just talk.
DO NOT hold anything inside as you would be hurting yourself. Find someone who will listen to you and just vent. We all need to vent and rant at some times to keep ourselves sane.
Help yourself and learn that you are precious and you are important. It doesn't matter if it is to the whole world or one person. Point is, you are.
