I freaking love you Sammy! 🤗

As for your post, I WHOLE-HEARTEDLY SUPPORT THIS.

If you're having a problem - TALK. Don't feel scared of being judged or be intimidated by any means. If you have something to say, say it.

Don't think it works? Then listen to this.

These are all the ways that TEI, yes, THIS FORUM, filled with strangers living all across the globe have helped me out.

  1. When I was sexually harassed, they helped me to cope with what happened and reaffirmed that what happened was not my fault. It is an unfortunate event that had taken place and rather than having my life be defined by it, it is vital to learn from it and move on, stronger.
  2. When I was going through an existential crisis, they gave me strength by showing their encouragement and building confidence in me. These people, who have absolutely nothing to gain from helping me out, did so out of the goodness of their hearts. They did so because they care.
  3. When I was reconsidering my decision of continuing to write stories because of the whole plagiarism issue that had been taking place; they all banded together and helped to tackle this issue. They understood my stance of wishing to have some space but also stated, they would welcome back me back with open arms.
  4. When I was too caught up with the whole self-respect issue, things had become heated. But they still reached out and understood my perspective. People may not have wholly disagreed but they didn't use that to judge or personally attack me. That's simply not how we function.
Point is, if you have any sort of problem that you wish to talk about, do it. If you're not feeling comfortable doing it publicly by opening a thread as I may have, then send someone a PM. Just talk.

DO NOT hold anything inside as you would be hurting yourself. Find someone who will listen to you and just vent. We all need to vent and rant at some times to keep ourselves sane.

Help yourself and learn that you are precious and you are important. It doesn't matter if it is to the whole world or one person. Point is, you are.

It doesn't help that it also isn't very easy to recognise someone who is depressed. My family had a family friend who committed suicide due to depression. Her family were so distraught. The last thing you could ever imagine is opening a door and finding your loved one lying there lifeless on the floor. It really is heartbreaking when you hear things like this.

I agree with your post. Talking often helps and that's why therapy exists. Depression often leads individuals to thinking that they are worthless and that their life doesnt matter or wont make a difference to anyone. The extremely sad thing is, we are all so busy in our own lives that we actually forget to acknowledge those who need the attention the most, and by the time we realise it, its too late. I understand hectic and busy schedules and I'm not trying to make anyone feel guilty. I live in the UK and everyone here lives by routine, a 9-5 work day. Like I said, its very difficult to diagnose depression but its better to be safe that sorry. Any form of unusual or quiet behaviour should be enough to pull that person aside and make sure that they're okay.

To anyone on the forum, active or silent, that may be experiencing such thoughts or issues, please speak to someone. If you dont want to publicise your problems then PM someone who you know and talk it through. Suicide is never the answer and life is way too precious to just end it like that. Everyone's situations and circumstances change throughout their lives and no bad time ever stays forever. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. And there is always someone there who is willing to listen to your problems. I promise you that.

As a firm believer in God, I've always believed that there is a plan for our lives and what is meant to be will be. If there is a bad phase in your life, it's so that you come out stronger in the end, not weaker. Everything happens for a reason and you need a little rain for a rainbow. The bad allows us to appreciate the good. You just have to hang in there and work through the difficulties and you will be triumphant in the end.

I got a little carried away but seriously, suicide is never the answer guys. It doesnt matter if its family issues, work trouble or relationship problems, ending your life is not going to make it okay. If anything, you leave behind family and friends who genuinely love and care about you. They dont deserve that.

I'm sorry if I've offended or hurt anyone, that was not my intention. Live, laugh, love. Be happy and spread happiness wherever you go and remember you are never alone ❤️

P.S. I forgot to say thank you so much for making this post! Social awareness about issues like these are what will help us overcome them. Thank you once again.

no seriously thank you guys. and very well said.

we have all become so busy with our lives that we forget that there are people out there who might need us. the world has become a place where its 'I, me and myself and my family'. We hardly even pass a smile now a days when walking down the street. you never know when a small gesture can change your life or even brighten up a day!

its not easy- but u will pull through this. use this as an opportunity guys. please take this as a humble request. reach out via pm, post anything

lots of luv

Damn man Gurleen you made me tear up. Nothing more to add because you literally said it so well. In fact you are the one that taught me and made me aware when you made the thread about #2 how this is a public forum and we never know who will take what we say in what way. Ever since then, I've tried to be even more careful to make sure my words don't hurt anyone. So thank you for that <3

I'm being repetitive now, but seriously any time ANY of you need a friend or someone to talk you, I'm always here <3 or tumblr or Instagram lol pretty much everywhere. Just don't hold back, asking for help is the best thing.

Thank you so much for putting up a post as this. I am not ready to share but the fact that you put up something like this that dispels the taboo of mental health as a dark blot is really great! Thank you.

Teddyyy, meri jaan, don't cry! 🤗

You are most welcome! The aim was never to tamper on someone's freedom of expression. It was just to raise the fact that you need to be mindful about what the words you use. Online or in real life. Words are SO powerful and they need to be used wisely. Physical wounds can heal, but psychological wounds are always going to be there, haunting people like an echo.

The sexual harassment for example. It was an event that happened so long ago and I am no longer that deeply affected by it as I initially was. However, it still does pop up once in a while. It is something that has happened and whether I like it or not, it is a part of my life. What's most important is that I am not letting this one bad event to dictate how my life should be run. I am not centering or shaping my life around it.

The key thing is to talk. Don't feel like you are a burden, just talk and let it out. Whether you wish to approach someone you know personally or you wish to do it anonymously. It does not matter. Just talk.

@ Gurleen di.

Di...whatever u've said...is TRUE!
We sometimes need people to vent out our sorrows!
Even in school we learn about this...
And my life is some how like that...
As my parents really want me to do good in studies...
Infact even if i get 70% on any of my subjects...
God knows how many things i have to go thru...
My dad's anger is not less than a lion's!

I don't know di...what u must be thinking about what i've just said!
But right now i just said whatever was on my mind!!!
So kindly ignore it...if u find it useless...😳
