Something Serious - but Important *Small Note* - Page 5

Anisha, considering you called me 'di' today, sister to sister I'm telling you that things WILL get better. I remember being in your position as the age of 14, believe it or not. The arguments at home got so bad that I used to find excuses to stay out of the house for as long as possible. I used to stay behind in school just so I didnt have to argue with my parents again. Believe me when I say this sweety, its not just your parents. A LOT of parents are like this. Your parents just want the best for you, unfortunately they dont know how to show it to you properly so they think constantly criticising you will do the trick. Similarly to you, all my friends had happy family environments so I used to vent my frustration through crying my eyes out in the comfort of my own room. One day, I decided it was enough and crying wasnt going to solve anything so I started blocking my parents out. Whatever they said went into one ear and out the other. Since that day, I have never cried (no joke) Eventually I did well in all my exams, passed college, got into uni, started driving and got myself a job. Since then, things have significantly improved with my parents and as much as I might dislike them in the spur of the moment, they are still my parents and they have my best interests at heart. They just just took the approach of nagging which I wouldnt personally have chosen. So trust me, it will get better. I thank you for all your kind words. The purpose of me sharing something so personal is to let people now that your past and your experiences should never be considered as a weakness. Turn it into a curve ball and use it as your strength and start making a difference :)

We all will fall - we all have to face our demons - no matter what always remember that there is light at the end of every tunnel ! Its never to late to start - be it at the age of 14 or 40.

@Anisha- i have been there so I understand but i will tell you this

sometimes you feel the grass is greener on the other side. Might not be true- yes its difficult for as individuals to make our parents understand. But this is all a phase. Our parents come from a school of thought, which cannot be changed, but slowly times are changing. No matter what always remember this - yes its unfair on how our parents react. But they will always be our parents and our reason for our existence. So hang in there. And like I said we are just a click away.

@Samy @Gur thank you so much for sharing the issues you are going/went through. I am so proud of you guys. You guys are inspiration. It was so sad to read yet i am so happy i did coz this inspired me a lot. So thank you so much. I am so glad to see all the positive people here. you guys are truely amazing. I always see so much positivity from you guys. it makes me smile. Whenever i visited other forums i saw ppl are fighting with each other in very ugly way that to for some celebrities. But here its really different except for some random incident, the respect you guys have for the other is incredible. I really consider this as my big virtual family. coz this gives me lots of positivity to forget any sadness i have or whenever i feel low. So thank you so much guys. you all are amazing human being. I really dont think i will see another forum like this or i will meet other people as awesome as you all are. coz you all are irreplacable to me. Love you all. a big hug 🤗

This is so disturbing. 2 years back one of our classmate did the same. tht time too i saw how we were discussing tht we couldnt reach to her. it was really sad for me. Whenever i hear this type of news it depresses me, may be we get to know this coz they are celebrity but there are thousands of ppl in real life who are going through this or even worse and takes such dangerous steps. I hope God gives us patience and strength to face such situation strongly.

I'm so sorry to hear that :( It's worse when it's someone that was close to you because you feel like you could've done something but it's important to remember that it's not always in your hands. That's why like Samy and Gur said, talking is most important!

I completely agree, I hope everyone who is going through such a situation can find someone they can confide it and get help <3

Thank you so much for making a post like this. It was much needed and I agree with everything you've said. Life gets very difficult sometimes but it doesn't mean you have to face those difficulties alone. The one thing that really attracted me to this forum was and is how everyone is always, always, always there for each other. The unit here is one of the strongest I've seen.
