Anyone Else Okay With the Marriage Not Happening?

Hey guys, I came here to make a quick post about the recent events of the story line.

This is what's happening in regards to the marriage.

  • TwiNj are getting married for their families' sake
  • Manohar wants Twinkle only because she provides good luck for him
  • Nikki thinks Twinkle is a nuisance and her own worth in the family is being jeopardized
  • Anand couldn't care less about Twinkle's existence
  • Ishu is too young to understand anything
  • Usha basically thinks Twinkle is a s**t who goes around being involved with practically every man she sees
  • Kunj sees Twinkle only as a compromise; he has no personal desire to be with her
In such a situation where Twinkle is not being seen nor treated as a person but rather being objectified in many different manners, I don't want her to get married. As of right now, she is not a human being in other people's eyes. Rather, she is an idea or a trait that is being utilized to fulfill all their needs and desires, even if they are negative.

I would much rather have her not be married and create herself a strong identity that compels people to treat and respect her as a person and want others to beg for the chance to just be in her presence. She needs to grow out of this desire to live out her life in the name of her mother and have her future be decided upon who she gets married to. There is so much more to a person, especially to a woman, than who they get married to and who their romantic affiliations are.

as a girl myself i agree with u
but i think she also needs to think a lot
she first needs to know the truth of that night
she needs to know that kunj was trying to save her
and not the attacker him self
she also needs to ask for his forgiveness
and stop making the snide comments so often to him

If not love, then at least grow a strong bond of friendship with Twinkle again. The basis of their relationship right now is really unstable and it's only going to pose a lot of problems later on.

As for Twinkle, she still has so much to learn and it will be preferable if she learns it all prior to her marriage and out of her own independence.

Yes, this was another major matter of contention for me. Until Twinkle doesn't learn the truth about the night of the farmhouse and is able to see Yuvi and Kunj for who they really are, there will always be problems in TwiNj's relationships. Twinkle is too trusting of people and ends up having her heart broken numerous times. She needs to harden up a little and only allow those who truly mean something to her be so heavily involved in her life.

Gurleen, very valid points.
It is always better to go in a home where u r loved. But the problem in arranged marriages and even love for that matter is the family gets to know one slowly when you really live together and the impressions are created at that point. The only one person who truly matters initially is the significant other and how they support you through out.

With the heavy villiany this week, the focus completely shifted from the wedding. But some good that came from it was Twinkle is totally off yuvi and all her delusion of love has come crashing down. She has bonded with kunj and they both are comfortable with the idea that they will be husband and wife and can joke about it.
Yes the fact they will marry for family rather than affection for each other is a negative that can easily be overcome. The initial care and understanding is there and that is the initial stepping stone on the path of life. Without that they can only grow apart and not together. Yes the MU is a big factor of a certain distrust, which is the ground of them being physically apart till it clears.

She has an innate respect for family and up holding it's honor. He treats her as an equal albeit thinks she is lacking in a little sense. Manohar thinks of her as a charm and is backing her.. What ever the reason, he now considers her a daughter in law and stood up for her and threw yuvi out of the party for maligning her. He is nice to Nikki so I don't see any other treatment for Twinkle.

Anand is neutral he has no issues with her. Nikki will indulge in power play. Usha is needed for the on and off strife that will help Twinkle grow and Twinj bond. He will also be a factor in her growing independent as
he gives people space and is ready to take on the responsibility of being a husband.

Now that Twinks is away from the pampering of her mother and a home maker in her own right she will mature a lot more...

So I am ok with the marriage happening and look forward to the tashan e shaadi moving on to tashan e understanding and then the ishq...

Yes you are 100% correct...

They need a fresh start...they need to get to know one another and discover themselves before anything...

At the moment everything is rushed and misunderstood

Very well said dear
You are correct as a woman.
But Twinkle's character is not the one that develops on her own.
She is immature who realises things late.
Had it not been Kunj's entry she would have never realized that her mother would never accept Yuvi or Yuvi is not correct for her.
Even if she stands up for herself she needs a strong support for eg. she can't alone face Yuvi and need Kunj's help.
So I feel (it's my personal opinion) that this wedding should happen so that she can get that support from Kunj to become independent to stand up for herself and to understand her own life.
If she was left upon herself she won't ever realize because she lives in a pampered environment.
So she needs to discover the harsh realities of life to stand up for herself. And by entering the Sarna family she would see a new face of life
