Aaya Mein Tujhko LeneThe Taneja's house was lit up with various colored lights, the air fragrant with freshly picked flowers, and the walls echoing the noise from the loud
dhols and the booming speakers.
The living room was decorated with bright colors and people were scattered around, laughing, gossiping and having a merry time.
Amidst the highly joyous occasion, Twinkle was sitting with her friends, laughing as she teased Chinki about her fiancee.
"Bol le jitna bolna hai. Jab tumhari shaadi hogi na phir dekhungi kitna has thi ho." Chinki replied making Twinkle be on edge.
"Baat toh aise kari ho jaise meri shaadi kal hone wali hai." Twinkle said back. "Aisa waise koi ni mila jisse mein shaadi karoon, okay."
"Kisse bewakoof banane ki khoshish kari ho?" Chinki asked her, gesturing a hand towards her.
Twinkle too straightened up and put her hands on her hips.
"Tumhe banane ki kya zaroorat hai, tum toh ho hi bewakoof." Twinkle retorted.
"How dare you Twinkle Taneja! Ab dekh mein tumhari kaisi band bajati hooni." Chinki challenged Twinkle, getting up from her seat and walking away.
"Kya Twinkle, tu bhi kisse panga le ri hai." Sanju commented.
"Penkh ri hai. Kuch ni hoga usse." Twinkle leaned back on the cot, waving Sanjana's worry away.
"Oh really?" Anju spoke up. "Then what is he doing here?" She raised her eyebrows in the direction of the main entrance.
Seeing who entered through the main door made Twinkle's eyes pop out. Ironically, the song that was playing from the speakers, suited the situation well.
"Isse kisne bulaya?" Twinkle shouted.
"Maine!" Chinki volunteered with a wide grin on her face. "After all, Leela Aunty ko bhi toh pata chale ki unki hone wale jamai kaise hai."
"Dekh, tu aisa kuch ni kare gi." Twinkle pointed at Chinki, agitated about what type of effect his appearance is going to have.
"Why are you so worried Twinkle?" Anju purposely asked. "I mean, you don't have anyone in your life, right?" The knowing look on Anju's face irritated Twinkle to no end.
Twinkle slowly brought her finger back to form a fist. She tried to calm herself as she saw her mother greet him. Goosebumps rose on her arms as her mom pointed at her.
He saw the apprehensive look on her face and smiled at her.
He's totally in cahoots with them all. Twinkle thought, looking at her friends and then him.
As she saw him approach her, she got up and walked away before he could reach her.
However, to her surprise he had caught her hands from the back and pulled her against his chest.
"Tere ghar aaya main aaya tujhko lene." Although the song was playing the back, Kunj sang along. "Tere ghar aaya main aaya tujhko lene." He hugged her from behind but Twinkle broke away. "Dil ke badle mein dil ka nazrane dene." He pulled on the heavy dupatta of her lehnga and caressed it with his cheek.
Twinkle pulled the dupatta from his grasp and pushed Kunj away so that no one noticed them.
"Meri har dhadkan kya bole hai," Kunj, who had dramatically fallen back onto the white-cloth covered cot, became immediately surrounded by Twinkle's girl friends. "Sun sun sun" He gestured them all forward to listen to him.
Getting up from their seats, they all dance to the signature move for the chorus.
Saajan ji ghar aaye
Saajan ji ghar aaye
Dulhan kyun sharmaye
Saajan ji ghar aaye
Twinkle rolled her eyes at all of them as they were merely functioning to create a bundle of more problems for her. When her eyes landed on her mom, she saw the way she was looking so keenly at Kunj and at the way, he and her friends were interacting not only with each other but towards her as well. Fearing for what connections she might piece together, Twinkle left the scene.
She had entered her room and sat down on her bed, trying to think of a million and one excuses to distract her mom from what she had seen today.
"Kya re Twinkle," Kunj exclaimed walking into her room like he owned it. "Kitni mehnat kar ke aaya hoon aur tum ho ki bhav bhi ni deri." He laid across her bed, not caring who might see them.
Twinkle glared at him.
"Pagal ho kya?"
"Last time I checked... no." He answered smugly. "But if you want to check me out thoroughly, I don't mind." He winked at her, cheekily.
Twinkle rolled her eyes, disgusted.
"Men!" She muttered underneath her breath.
Kunj pulled her from behind, making her fall back onto the bed as well. "Oh hello, it's women too okay." He said, defending the entire male species.
"As if!" Twinkle scoffed.
"What's your problem?" Kunj asked getting irritated now.
"My problem?" Twinkle asked him incredulously. "How can you even ask me that Kunj? Sab ke samne haath pakra, dance kiya... do you have any idea how much trouble I can get into?" She asked fearing the interrogation she would be getting from her mother soon.
"Hey, no one is going to say a thing to you." Kunj consoled, now sitting up and holding her face in his hands. "Jo meine neeche kaha voh sirf dance ke liye ni tha." Twinkle looked at him confused. "Mein sach mein tujhe lene aaya hoon. I'm going to ask your mom for your hand in marriage."
Twinkle's eyes teared up.
"Are you..." She began not really able to believe what he's saying. "Are you really..." She broke off.
Kunj nodded, wiping away her tears. Giving her a kiss on the forehead, he hugged her tight.
"It's about time you become Twinkle Sarna." He teased her, making her blush profusely.
