Thats a great rule for writing 😊 there s a quote in my English classroom "what is written WITHOUT EFFORT is generally read WITHOUT PLEASURE"

That is so true!

If you haven't put in the effort to put out a good product, then the people reading won't like it either. I had a similar experience just recently where I had gotten some serious writer's block and people were constantly were asking for updates. So I put up all the updates one after the other and just finished the entire story. There were good plot twists but the execution itself was so horrible and it fell flat in the second half when it should have been really strong. 🤔

Anu - I am so glad for that. 😆

Because honestly, this update was starting to hang over my head like a burden. 🤔

That must've been really frustrating for you:( sometimes we can only learn the thing we are told when we have experienced them.

It was actually. It was from that time forward that I decided if I'm going to write, I'm going to do it for myself first. I'm going to write stories that I would want to read and would enjoy. Even for updates, I'm going to put them up when it is most convenient for me as that is when my best work comes out; not when I'm constantly under pressure.

Good call. I watched a video with a famous author somewhere on YouTube and he said that if you don't enjoy writing you're not doing it right- and it's true. The likelihood hood is that if you don't enjoy writing it, people won't enjoy reading it:/

I agree with that. Writing is a creative aspect of a human being that should come out naturally. If it's forced then you're doing it wrong. It becomes commercialized and the initial purity that one sees in it gets lost. It becomes so much more like another thing that you want to get done and over with and when it comes down to that, it's the saddest thing ever.

Well said 👏 it's one of those things that can't be forced, no matter how hard you try.
