Lovely topic, the secondary/ supporting cast always fascinated me and I wished more was done with them.

Ram--definitely missed the father--son bonding which ought to have been there. I would have loved to see a track wherein he expressed how he regretted not having stood by his son when he needed him the most; his guilt about being the perfect Lakshman to Durga Prasad's Ram, but his inability to be the perfect father to his own son.

And though the serial did give Annapurna quite some prominence earlier, I felt they didn't keep with this character's potential later on. They showed her being too easily taken in and deceived by Ragini repeatedly, even after Ragu's crimes and misdemeanors had been exposed. IMO, Annapurna was way too canny to have fallen for Ragu's bag of tricks the second or third time round. It would have been so great to see AP battling Rgu's plans behind the scenes---or perhaps even tacitly collaborating with them, with the ulterior motive of wanting to make Swara land up with her own beloved laadla Lucky. 😉

Plus----and this is something which bugs me till today, its not a character as such but a prop. 😉 The infamous red blanket! You remember, the one which kept appearing and disappearing, wrapped around the mysterious cloaked figure (which we all knew was Lucky 😆), during the kidnapping track. The way the plot unfolded, there had to be a minimum of 2 red blankets in the Mentaleshwari mansion 😉 But alas! All our sleuthing skills (such as they are 😉) went to waste since the CVs wrapped up with one blanket only---which was logically impossible. 😕🤪

Anyway, apart from that, I would really have loved to have some solid backdrop to Adarsh and Pari turning negative. The potential for them to feel insecure was always there---Adarsh especially, given that he was the eldest son but was widely seen as less capable than Sanskaar (even DP considered Sanskaar his true heir in the business), and less beloved in the family than Lucky. And Pari---well, with all the "Swara--Giniii!!! Swara----Giniii!!" drama going on, she could have felt left out, too. But these angles needed more development, which wasn't done.

Ganapati bappa morya.
Happy Ganesh Chaturthi people.🤗

May Ganesh ji bless you with all that you need. and all that you are seeking.

yeah to new thread. loved the topic.

and loved the new tags. nynu you are a star.❤️

Changes in a character:

I wish Swara remained her original flawed Swara than becoming a tele bahu.
i would delete her 'behna mere life ka anmol gehna' gene from her DNA.

Will add more spunk and spine to Sharmishta's character. she should have got a new man for herself instead of wasting her life over a sorry excuse of a man she called husband.

Ragini - What possessed her to become Malkin? she was doing great till that point of time.

Sanskaar - he shouldn't have let Ragini humiliate Swara or let Swara beg him. he should have been 10 steps ahead of Ragini during that track.

rest.. Viji wrote it so beautifully.🤗. ditto that.

I hated what they did to swara's character. They had many good actors, they didn't use them at all. I wanted some tracks on Ap, dp, ram. Don't know why Adarsh was in show, just for one cheating drama.

Hehe, I was waiting for something like this to pour my frustration on Cvs for creating a tamasha of my favorite characters, though technically they created these characters but it is because of you guys we got to see the different finer shades of these characters, so kudos to all the humans (don't want to leave any gender :)) out there. I can't hate CVS because they were the one who gave us these characters at the first place.

So I will start with my once upon a time one of the most favorite characters i.e. Ragini.

There was a time when I used to feel bad for her, then there was a time when I kind of supported her.

But then came the Malkin track and all my sympathy and love went downhill. I used to think that no matter how bad, stupid and shallow she is but she genuinely loves Lakshya in her twisted way. She has been hurt by Swara and Lakshya and that's why she behaves the way she does. but when in Malkin track she start showing importance to money and start disturbing Swasan relation I started hating her character. I somehow believed that she was everything but a gold digger. but that track somehow made me doubt her love for Lakshya (WHICH WAS THE ONLY POSITIVE POINT).

It looked like she married Lakshya more for his name and money then love. I so wished that track never come. At least I wouldn't have started hating her character.

Now comes my most favorite character Sanskar. I know most of us believe that he was best written character in the serial (including me). I loved and breathed his character. But what made me furious was his total white character with no depth after Swara accepting his proposal.

I wished he wouldn't have transformed into out and out white character after his redemption. I wanted him to be a bit grey character throughout the serial. Swara was always there to leash his darkness. He was the best example of darkness and she was the best example of light.

I so wish he wouldn't have turned this all accepting and righteous man. Let him have his ways and let Swara control his demons. His parentage and upbringing was the best reason's to have him the kind of soul he possessed, A passionate soul longing for love with no trust in fate.

Few may call me stupid or whatever but I somehow love grey shades (only those who has a legit reason to behave the way they do. I don't like those character who are grey just for money or power)

Now comes Bubbly Swara. I so wished that they would have let Swara remain the way she was at the start of the serial. She was an out and out white character full of life and I loved her that way.

When I see her earlier pics of Swaragini, I only know how much I miss that girl. I just wish that CVS should have let her be the girl she was at the start, bubbly sweet innocent and a bit naive who thinks that she can change the world with her left hand. Who is always ready to fight for the right thing. One thing that I would have removed from her character was her habit of forgiving every single person and believing everyone so easily. I loved bubbly chirpy naive and cute Swara. Though I loved her for the strength of her character in the serial.

Few of her scenes gave me goosebumps as a strong female character without even a hint of darkness (which was indeed a rare thing). Specially the scene where few reporters accuse her for her affair with Sahil, Sanskar and Lakshya. I never wished her to have multi-dimensional character like Sanskar and Ragini. she was the other half of Sanskar and that way she was perfect.

I so wish that Sharmistha wouldn't have gone back to Shekhar after he raised his fingers on her upbringing. This would have saved us from the stupid track of Sharmistha's pregnancy. That track was against the law of biology (not totally but in most of the cases).

I don't believe in giving chance to someone who has backstabbed you twice and Shekhar was one such person. Though I loved Sharmistha in the starting. She was strong, bold and independent the way she has brought up her daughter.

Now I so wish that instead of Dida, Dadi's track should have been ended. Dida was my favorite oldie there.

I hated when they turned Adarsh and Parineeta negative, it was stupid.

I wish they wouldn't have shown Durga Prasad and Annapurna weak in the show. I loved them as strict people.

I wish they would have used Ram's character wisely.

I so wish that there was no Kavya track. It was disgusting. I wish instead of showing that track they would have shown lucky thinking about Ragini and start accepting her (after all she had saved her from death even when she knew that he hated her).

That would have given us a brilliant love story as well.

So you see i have so many wishes. wises and wishes...

I like many characters but still disappointed with Sanskar character most.
Being a grey shaded in starting who is ready to do anything for his love, but what i don't like about Sanksar negligence of giving punishment to Ragini... I mean he never took initiative for punishing her for her sinful crimes but no it never happened, Even in whole both family noone tried to punish her.
He just being puppet of Swara, i mean watever Swara said he was okay with everything.

Although being criminal Ragini i don't liked her because for me Swara and Ragini should be same although Swara suffered alot but she become strong but Ragini was made traditional but she never faced society cruelty till the last point how Swara faced
I really thought in starting that Swara would be shown little aggressive and moody type girl but Ragini would be calm, sensitive and understanding and taking decision calmly but she really shown so opposite but let it be okay.
Swara was ignorant about her affection towards laksh and if Ragini had not tried to realise her then whatever Ragini did that was not needed. She was already not liking Laksh for hurting Ragini so Ragini and Laksh slowly could have made their love story awesome
I was okay she did crime for getting Laksh but after her truth came out, she instead of getting how to get Laksh she was more interested inn Swasan life how to defame and separate them.
But the most shocking for me was Malkin track, she lost everything... i haven't liked her after that even watever good she did or bad.

Swara, well many a times I got it her behanchara, she gave family much more importance but fine she can't give punishment to culprit but whyyy forgave them yaar
Everytime she is ready to forgive her sister, laksh, father ... ohh God.

I would have appreciated if they have shown Ram character well enough to show fatherly figure which Swara and Sanskar missed.

Shomi, if more respectable lady would have showed.

Dida a fabulous character which always ready to solve nok-jhok between swasan and fight with Marwalan

Sanskar character if shown a perfect balance of business tycoon and gery shaded home man

Swara not always forgivable type girl

Laksh and Ragini out of league, they were just dumb type of characters just lost the charm by stepping so low in revenge game.

Hey girls...
I agree with viji...nimmi and ria...u were bang on ...

Even i wanted same changes...

I actually hated dadi most...she was main reason for the malkin track...ok...that was the worst track...i agree laksh was guilty but giving whole property was something stupid, gone out of my head...if we think logically..it was not genuine..it took months for legal formalities if transfer of any property papers is done...they could have just given her house keys...dadi was sole reason for manipulating ragini...n turning her darker...

I just remembered that scene when ragini n dadi were applying black tar on maheswari face...ewww..but swara safe them...bakwas part ...u do so much to someone..n forget in another meeting...pure stupidity

I enjoyed kavya n i dont remember his brother name. Part...when they were avenging maheswari using laksh too...that was nice...could have been much better...but ends in lots of bloodshed...they ruined it...with drugs n stuff...

Urvashi masi part with kavita could be something else...if they actually succeeded in making sharmishta mad...by doing all that planning...n swara concern for mom...giving less time to sanky..causing rift between them..it could be something else..if such thing happens...show would have been something else...

Sahil and kissan part was nice...wrapped up very quickly...suddenly swara memory returns...gosh...they must have shown more time spend between them... or swara falling for sahil and having strong pull from kissan or sankaar...no need for kissan part...just sanky...she gets attracted to sanky...n her views changes regarding him...

At times i felt bad for uttu...twice she was near to getting married ...rajat then other i dont remember after leap..uttu characters has so much scope...only daughter...should have been chirpy...rebelious...demanding...causing trouble...but she was not utilise enough...

I am going to go on about all of them, so be warned, but then because I am a very good girl, I will split the posts😆😆😆

Let us start with the YIN YANG pair of the show - Dada and Dadi.

Dadaji was a perpetual practitioner of the Disapparating Act, he was the expert, I think he was a full time Instructor at Hogwarts and apparated into Badi only when Hogwarts was closed.😕🥱

Dadi on the other hand was a cross breed of a dragon, gaintess and Professor Dolores Umbridge with a hint of Lestrange. A more convoluted character has not been envisaged.

The show started off with her as an arrogant Marwari woman, who is convinced that Marwaris in general and her son in particular are God's gift to mankind, with her granddaughter, Ragini, being a personification of goodness. Acceptable misconception.

She hates her Bengali neighbour, her daughter and her granddaughter with a vengeance, just because she is a Bengali. Acceptable prejudice.

She picks fights with Shobha, on everything under the sun, leaves no stone unturned to taunt Sharmishta and Swara, both she and Shobha make a mockery of themselves and provide general entertainment to the Badi residents. Tolerable intolerance with hint of humour. (background - Tea time entertainment)

Has blind faith and trust in her granddaughter, Ragini, but somehow grudgingly accepts Swara (sort of, I guess, never saw those episodes) once she learns that even Swara is her granddaughter (I make this statement for I do recall how complicit she was when Ragini ganged with Sanskaar to break up Swara and Laksh's wedding). Her choosing of Ragini during those times is but an extension of that blind faith in Ragini, and would also extend to hating and mistrusting Swara. Fine so far. But they still had some hope when during the false molestation charge, she tries to confirm with Ragini, that the incidents did happen.

And finally the denouement, when she publicly apologises to all for never trusting Swara and says "I am sorry for equating upbringing with the style of clothes" and then her attempts to make up to Swara. I really felt that this is a beautiful heartfelt change, Swara would finally have a family and Ragini would realise where she went wrong while Dadi would understand that loving someone was not being blind.

And remember how happy she was when Swara announces her decision to give her marriage with Sanskaar, a chance??

This was further bolstered when Dadi explained to Swara regarding the misconceptions Ragini was creating that Swara was double dating both Sanskaar and Laksh and she delicately hints to Swara to gauge her feelings for Sanskaar. I was 'Go, Dadi Go'

Alas, the CVs got tired and decided to resurrect Umbridge / Lestrange - there is no reason for the Malkin track, the tie up with Uravashi (why was she brought in the first place???🤢), her disgusting attempts to destroy her own grandson and then her descent into madness during the Adarsh villainy. Somewhere the Grandmother who loved one of her granddaughters, mutated to a Medusa who hated that other so much that she destroyed her own innocent granddaughter (not detracting from Ragini's actions, but then she would not have been so disgusting without her Dadi's instructions, guidance and directions).

The best part, what happened to her? Was a recounting of her crimes ever done? Did she ever face any repercussions, any objections or even a mild protest for all her crimes? They showed Adarsh's arrest, I think she left the serial.

A great antagonist who could have been the reason for Ragini's downfall and subsequent redemption of both, completely and irrevocably ruined.

I agree with all of the previous posts...hence no point in repeating them...so instead of changing the characters I would change the CVs who did not capitalize on the popularity of the couples but decided to kill the goose laying golden eggs by leaving every potential track incomplete and jumping to new tracks...
