Hi ladies lovely idea and congratulations on the new thread...
Well how I fell in love with the show was through my mum and she was like lol check the promo should we watch I was like yeah bring on the music...

Have to say though I love swasan a lot but what hooked me to it from the very start was our beloved dida and the intercultural twist of the story...I was like finally we get to see some spice...

But have to say as each beleloved character entered I just fell in love more and then came the mohini and revenge twist and that was it hooked for life. ...

I miss them and there crazyness if only they had changed ts time or plot twist...wishes just crazy wish

Happy post if people

Take care razia

And I finally make my presence felt.

When I start watching Swaragini? Difficult one, for I do not think I actually watched much😆😆

Let me start from the beginning, those days I would only watch english serials (Blacklist followed by Mentalist) or it was Monk- not Indian TV serials for me. My mom was interested and the times clash, so I maganimously sat with her for one of the early episodes (Where Sharmishta lets Shekar know that Swara is his daugher) and actually I was not impressed, with neither the cast nor with what I grandly predicted the story, (I still remember how smugly I denounced it saying, "Maa, this is the TV version of the film Kalyana Mandapam, they both will fall in love with same guy and then it...). I think my mom hated me for it did turn out to be true.

I never watched it for quite some time, though mom would try to update me, she hated SwaLak (because it was unfair to Ragini, was her stand) and just to rile her I would tease, maybe Ragini should get married to Laksh's cousin (I have not even seen Sanskaar nor heard his name) and Mom would get so upset, she asked to either watch in silence or leave her alone (guess she was indirectly a SwaSan shipper, but then she simply disliked Laksh very very much - she got them quite right😊)

The bigger they are the harder they fall - true for me, such a big skeptic and I fell...

I started watching in bits and pieces during the Ragini expose for Blacklist got over and I thought watching a brain draining, absolutely nonsensical Hindi serial would let me get over the misery I felt at not having an English serial to watch. So I watched those three or four episodes (but seriously, it was a little to drawn out, right) and then I would sit beside Mom for the next few days (sort of watching, reading my story)

The moment I fell in love...

When Swara and Sanskaar are walking in the baadi, after the whole confrontation and all hope that Swara and Sanskaar decide to stay married(in slow motion, though my heart even today starts racing) he wearing a pink blazer (really, I hate men in pink) and she in orange (not my favourite colour, not then not now...) and she remembers his drunk confession (goosebumps for me, even now) and he recalls her accusation of betrayal of their friendship because he fell in love with her.)

And I was a gone case...,

caught up in a whirlwind, I hunted the net, caught up on all the back episodes, (muted and fast forward) till I stumbled on the sindoor scene and finally the confession scene (I think the youtube videos must now not load properly🤣 I watched so many times), found IF and discovered my lovely friends and this forum.

Surprisingly, I never watched much of the rest of serial either, bits and pieces and once my nephew was born, TV was what of question. And yet, here I am, long after the serial has been taken off air.

How can I ever forget it, the serial which gave us such a golden couple, my muse. May this forum be around and alive, even if barely, for a long long time.

Dyuti,

Okay so it was to be Amanita, I actually googled Anahita and kept wondering why you wanted to channel the Goddess of Water😆

And yes, the performance was stellar, I remember two scenes:

just after Ragini stabs Swara and finally confesses everything, there is a scene where the camera focuses on Sanskaar who sort of give a signal to Swara and she slowly rises, Ragini falls silent knowing that something is off and then

the camera pans towards Sanskaar who, without breaking his gaze with Ragini and Swara (a sort of smug arrogant expression on his face) bends and the camera shifts to his hand and Laksh reaches out to that.

I know it is nuanced, but the four of them (Laksh at that point was definitely not as good as the rest but still) in one frame- amazing scene.

And then the CV's ruined it😕, but that is a discussion for another day.😆

Nope Nynu, Anahita was what I wanted. I typed Amanita in this thread by mistake (and many other times in WP). Amanita is scientific name of mushrooms, that's a quite no no! 😛

Anahita, well I chose for she represents healing and wisdom, and you know I'm a doctor and currently working as lecturer. She personified water but I would say it's an irony. As much as I love to dip my feet(only feet) in the sea for hours, I'm hydrophobic by nature. That day me and Kam were wondering how similar we are. My attempts at learing swimming had been a failure so far. 😭

So our SR story is almost the same. Though for me it had been numerous English series including masterchef seasons. ( I detested the Indian version, Australian one was my fav.

For me "Pahadi se fek doon?" dialogue by Sanskar was the moment I knew I would be a fan of the actor, and the deadpan express Swara gave there . Truth to be told that I never hated Raglak, they were like salt and spice in the mixture. Without their idiocy or evilness we couldn't have notice them. Stars like them can be visible in the darkest night only, not in bright daylight, right?

what a wonderful thread Nynu.
and loved the replies here.
❤️.

how did i chance upon Swaragini?
laziness and destiny😆.
my earlier home was Laagi Tujhse Lagan forum. the show got over and the forum archived but since i 'starred' the forum i could drop there without much fuss.
and then i had problems logging in. network had issues where i couldn't bookmark the page. it was a chore to select colors page then click archived forums then scroll down and go to LTL forum. me being the lazy me discovered a short cut. if i select any 'live' forum and go to page two .. i can find LTL forum direct link there. just two clicks and i'll be home. and i selected Swaragini as that 'live' forum. first i simply used to go to page two and then my home. slowly i stared checking out threads in SR forum out of curiosity. most of the threads and comments were name calling, accusing and decrying a character named Sanskaar. for being a horrible guy, for separating someone named SwaLak, for reports that he shall be the new hero for some girl named Swara.
i was amused and intrigued. the way the guy was trashed i thought he sounds like an interesting dark character.. maybe i should check him out.
those were SwaLak days and people posting belonged to that fandom.

so i checked out the show. Swara taking entire marriage calling off blame on herself thereby letting Ragini off the hook; ragini questioning her later and warning her and then stepped in Sanskaar announcing: Swara is not alone. i am with her.

i was hooked. but not line and sinker for i didn't like Swara taking blame on herself. i am allergic to 'mahaan' bahus. been scarred too badly by those entities. thought she was would be just the same. and then came to know that Sanskaar will confess his love soon. bleh! i care for journey more than destination. here the destination is already reached. so in my prejudices and wrong perceptions i stopped watching the show. but kept checking out the forum.
then i saw people raving over the confession of Sanskaar. i was intrigued again. so one fine day i checked the serial again... and then never looked back.

Sanskaar and Swara won me over. especially Sanskaar. and i was totally, absolutely, fatally captured by the magic named SwaSan.
i went back and checked older episodes and finally understood Sanskaar. He became my love and muse. and so Sanskaar chronicles was born.
and then this forum became home. and beautiful people out here.. friends and homemates.

and i was never set free. from Sanskaar, SwaSan and this home.

Surprising, how most of us are still hooked despite not being avid fans of Indian Television. Or maybe it is only we, the non fans of Indian Television who are around, the "true" fans have already migrated to the other forums shows.

@Harshada, I am so sorry to hear that things are not so fine with you. I do miss you on my RR thread.
Sanskaar and Ragini - I loved their "pairing" not in the romantic way but in an intellectual way, my greatest regret was that the CVs never gave them a chance to solve Urvashi's murder and proved Swara innocent - but that is for another thread. I so love the mind games they play, the sharp wits they possess - maybe that is why in my stories, they are always friends, they might not see eye to eye on most things, but friends they would be.

@Kamila - I thinking flipping over Sanskaar (the characterisation is brilliant) is a common feature for those of us unable to move on😳

@ Talia - That bridge scene - I was amazed at Ragini for that scene, all innocence, all tears , Swara bewildered as to what is up and then that push , though I guess you fell for SR😆

@Razia - so you are one of the earliest "watchers"😊

Amanita is definitely a NO then😆

I love water, though I have not learnt to swim, the rivers, seas and the rain, I can never resist their call. The murmur of brooks, the pitter patter of rain, the roar of the oceans, the lightness you feel when in water, the cleansing of the rain on you skin...I could go on

So our SR story is almost the same. Though for me it had been numerous English series including masterchef seasons. ( I detested the Indian version, Australian one was my fav.

High 5 on MC - I only watched the Australian ones, quite a few seasons till I found it repetitive, never like MC India or the US one.

For me "Pahadi se fek doon?" dialogue by Sanskar was the moment I knew I would be a fan of the actor, and the deadpan express Swara gave there . Oh yes, Sanskaar was brilliant in all the scenes there, though I found the fight (between him and Laksh a little over the top) RagLak, nope never hated them, just felt that the serial did not do much justice, it just dumbed them down a little too much.

Nimmi,

"And I was never set free. From Sanskaar, SwaSan and this home"

That describes us all so well🤗: As Rumi said:

And that is precisely what happened to all of us. One scene, one dialogue, a chanced glimpse at an expression and we fell in love. And are now staying there.
