2.A diary and orange juice

Swara received her things but then was immersed into deep thoughts. Her brows were knotted, her chin rested on the knuckle of her hand... she appeared lost, confused and blank.

"Mr Maheshwari..."she called for her aide in a soft, musical but tired voice.

"Any problem, Miss Bose? Do you want to inform your family?They must be worried for you.

"Family? She felt a bout of pain around her temple, but managed to utter that word.

"Yes, family. All have one.Okay, I get it, your parents don't live in Mumbai then. Then I must inform your flatmate or friend. By the way where do you live?

"Boy, he is so chatty!Swara thought with apprehension. God! This headache... she could hardly think of anything.

"Excuse me?I'm asking you something?

She hesitated a bit, then look at him. "Actually that's the problem. I can't recall anything...No address... parents... friends... Absolutely NOTHING ! I don't know what I'm supposed to do with... this...AAAHH! she pointed at the camera. At this point she felt her skull was cracking with pain... She couldn't find one single piece of answer, neither a familiar face nor a place down her memory lane.

She tried to get up from bed, and the world around her took a spin. She was about to fall and hit the metallic headpost of the bed, when Sanskar caught her by the waist. Their eyes met... a pair of tormented dark black eyes found soft, concerned gaze of chocolate brown ones...

Sanskar was mesmerized glancing at this vulnerable beauty. Her long lashes were wet with tears of pain, her full, luscious, pink lips quivered as she was this close to breaking down, her slim waist fitted perfectly in the shackle of his strong,muscular hands, her chest was heaving up and down matching the rhythm of her uneven breath.

The doctor suddenly cleared his throat, making them embarrassed. Sanskar carefully laid her on bed and followed the doctor. Dr Sinha assured that Swara was not sexually assaulted by those goons, except few scratches on neck and arms. But she did had a hard blow on her head and had to go through a traumatic experience before Probably that's why her brain chose shut down the memory store completely.

Sanskar pondered for a while,overwhelmed with the turn of the events.Suddenly his eyes twinkled as a thought passed his mind. He dialled a number, "Hello? KKN?"

Someone from the head office of Kapoor & Krishnan News picked the call after three rings, "KKN headoffice.How can I help you?"

"Your employee Swara Bose, meet an accident. Can you-"

The voice from the other side cut him hurriedly, "Sorry, she doesn't work here anymore. The guy paused for a moment, "They sacked her yesterday."

"Sacked? Sanskar was astonished learning this new piece of info "But you know her place or contacts, right?"

"No... I hardly knew her. Listen I've to go."

"Stop! Aap jane ho woh kaha rehti thi? . At least inform her friends or family..."

"Listen, I don't know that either. Swara Bose never had a reputation of being social. The speaker's voice got unnecessarily rough."

"But-"

"Whoever you are Mister , I'm happy to hear that she's still alive... He lowered his voice, "Don't try to the find anything else until she does it herself. There are black sheeps in KKN too and she is paying the price for that. She has a hefty price tag on her life. Rumours are there, it's ten crore, only if she is dead. Ek baar bachake le aaye ho aapne. Keep her safe, let her live longer. Bye."

"Who is ... Hello hello..."

And the line was dead... for good...

Sanskar glanced at the innocent looking girl, who had managed to seep inside and tug an unknown corner of his heart. Suddenly he felt a strange protectiveness towards her. He couldn't let Swara, he would do everything for her survival.

After talking with Swara's ex-colleague, he was shocked getting the gravity of the situation. Her mind was like an empty diary, where all writings were invisible currently , as if they were written by orange juice... as if they were secret code.. to be discovered by right person at the right time. Perhaps with right amount of heat, those invisible letters will appear as brown scribbles again ... But naked cruel flame from any demon ... could burn her into ashes in no time...

"Mr Maheshwari?Could you find anything?"

His sagged back and downward gaze told her the answer. Her tiny light of hope extinguished all on a sudden...

"Miss Bose, it's not safe for you to stay here anymore. All I know is, you're in some kind of danger. I'm going to arrange for your discharge. he held her hand, pressed to lend some assurance, "Don't worry, you'll remember everything in no time.

Swara didn't find any reason to reply as she was thrown into a state of limbo. It seemed with memories she had lost the ability to feel anything. Except her eyes, they seemed to remember they were ought to get moist at the time of despair.

"Swara... Sanskar's deep masculine baritone was full of concern, "I hope you don't have a problem about staying in my home."

"Main aapke saath... kaise... "She looked down, clearly apprehensive of the idea of staying with this handsome generous stranger under same roof.

"Please don't hesitate ! My whole extended family live with me.I assure you, there will be a lot of people to trouble you." he smiled, concealing the disappointment he felt about her not trusting him enough. But he jerked it off. Any girl in her state would have done same.

"Thanks for your offer. But...I really don't want to trouble anyone."

"No one will be troubled, Miss Bose.Sanskar let a sigh, and rolled his eyes, "Alright, you can leave after getting back your memories... Can you remember what you've studied? I mean, your basic education?

She nodded. "Yes, I mean I could read that ID card."

"Fantastic!"he beamed, "You can tutor my brother's kids then. Is it okay for you?

She had a faint smile at last "I think that's okay for me."

"Kaam hogaya?

A bald man in his early sixties was seated inside the study. He had traditional dark black attire, a golden Rado watch on his wrist. Only a table lamp was lit inside, light and shadow played on the beige and brown walls. The man gripped the handle of his armchair in one hand and his other hand was holding his cellphone, close to his right ear. "I asked a question. Did you kill that reporter girl?"

"Maaf ki jiye, par humara kam adhoora reh gaya."

Anger flashed into his eyes, his jaws clenched, " Useless bas***ds! Tum log ek bhi kam dhang se nehi kar sakte ho kya? You couldn't kill that chit of a girl and you call yourselves men!"

"Pura baat toh sun lijiye, Durgaprasad ji!" The leader of the goons tried to coax him, "She had an accident while we were chasing her. Jis haal main uss ko dekha tha, woh aab tak mar chuki hogi."

" You are not getting your money till you confirm her death." Durgaprasad Maheshwari, patriarch of the respectable Maheshwaris in front of the society and the most ruthless Mafia Don of Mumbai underworld in stated in his cold, authoritative voice. " Swara has the proof that can destroy us . Kisi bhi halat main uss ko zinda nehi chod na chahiye. Next time call me when you'll have the good news. I'm giving you 24 hours."

As soon he cut the call the study door opened with a bang. A young man of medium height, cropped hair, and strong build in his casual shirt and jeans stormed in. He slammed his fist on the desk in front, his black eyes were spitting fire at Durgaprasad, "How dare you Mr Maheshwari? How could you kidnap my fiance? "

"Yeh kya badtameezi hain? Tum ko yaha aane diya kis ne? Durga rose from his seat, sounding dangerously grim.

The young man was standing to close in from him, his voice dropped yet remained stern. He raised his finger in front of the Mafia king,"Listen, Mr Maheshwari. Agar Swara ko kuch hua... toh mujhse bura koi nehi hoga... Yeh Laksh Mehrotra ka wada hai..."

Durgaprasad didn't tell anything, perhaps scrutinising the young man before him, while Laksh's expressions suddenly take u-turn, his grimace was replaced by impish grin, "Swara ki mangetar hone ki naate mujhe yehi toh kehna chahiye, haina Papa?"

And that's for all today... Set a field of conspiracy and betrayals. NowI've grabbed a box of popcorns and eagerly waiting to you people play with this. It's upto you whether you want Sanskar to be negative or positive..

Wicked stunts are there in chapter 1 too dyuti di. Waise will anyone mind if I write on a concept which is really different from the usual. With a pinch of adventure apart from drama and romance.

Ok, so I have updated the first chapter. Hope it's not too cliched. And sorry for the small chapter.

Chapter 3

{Knight in shining armor}

Sanskar was driving back home with swara when he got a call

"Yes sir"

"I will be right there sir"he saw swara was watching outside the window lost in her own thoughts.

"you alright" sanskar asked

"Yeah! I am fine" swara replied

"We are here" sanskar said opening the gates of the car. He gave the keys of the car to a servant and told him to park the car.

"Let's go inside." He said

Swara was watching the house open mouthed. She observed the house. It has 4 pillars at the entrance. The walls were of fade white colour. A big garden with a fountain. In short we can say it was a mansion. So is he prince charming of my life' swara thought for a second then discarded her silly thoughts. The huge gates opened and they were inside the house with an awkward situation.

"Mom... See chachu chachi leke aaye hai" aryan said shouting at the top of his voice

"Aryan... shut up" sanskar said closing aryan's mouth with his hands

"Bhabhi... she is a friend." Sanskar said introducing swara to nirmala

"Oh... friend yaa girlfriend" nirmala also started teasing sanskar "what's her name?" She asked

"Swara... Bhabhi it's not like what you are thinking I will tell you everything but now I need to get going I have some unfinished business. "Sanskar said before leaving swara under nirmala.

"Swara...Take care and don't stress yourself. I will be back in 2 hours bhabhi please stay with her." Sanskar said before leaving.

"Ji devar ji" nirmala said

"Swara...You look week I think you should rest. Let me show you your room." Nirmala said and swara followed her.

"No...I won't give it to you guys" swara said

"Ok don't give it we will get it after killing you" goons said. The goons were trying to strangle her to death when she bites the goon and started running. She was running when a car hit her. She woke up with a jolt. Her whole body was sweating. Her breathing was abnormal. In order to calm herself she reached for the glass but instead of grabbing it she pushed it. Sanskar was already was already there when Everyone else ran into her room hearing the voice of broken glass.

"Swara...Calm down" sanskar said giving her a glass of water

"What happened... Are you alright?" Nirmala asked

"Hmmm... it was just a nightmare" swara said

"Okay... then have your dinner with us on dinning table" nirmala said patting Swara's head and she nodded in yes

"Bhabhi I need to talk something with swara. So we will come together. Don't worry" sanskar said assuring nirmala everything is Okay. Nirmala headed out when sanskar asked swara if she remembers anything. Swara was already curious about the dream and sanskar's questions made her more anxious. She tried hard to remember anything but no nothing popped into her mind. Seeing swara trying hard to remember sanskar remembered Dr. Sinha warning not to pressurize swara or else she can go mad also. That's why sanskar told swara to relax. "Don't worry swara... There's no need to try this hard Dr. Sinha said you will eventually remember everything. "Let's go have dinner." Sanskar said and both of them headed towards the dinning area. Nirmala was observing swara quietly. She understood there's something wrong with her. "Sanskar we need to talk and It's urgent" nirmala said when she was sure swara went into her room after dinner.

"What's up with this girl sanskar. I know she isn't your friend. Tell me the truth" nirmala asked

"Yes bhabhi...She isn't my friend. Actually yesterday I was driving on highway when suddenly she popped out of nowhere in front of my car and she fainted. Dr. told me she has lost her memory due to shock and she will be alright in some time" sanskar said clearing all misunderstandings.

Swara checked and rechecked her bag but she didn't found anything besides a camera and an ID which had her photo and her name on it. She opened the camera but the camera had no film. She thought maybe sanskar knew anything about the camera. She was standing outside sanskar's room when she heard sanskar talking to someone named Mr. Malhotra. She tapped the door and entered inside the room and saw sanskar cutting line. "Sanskar I wanted to ask you something. Did you checked the camera before me" swara asked "No I didn't what happened did anything happened" sanskar asked looking concerned. Swara told him not to worry and stepped out of the room.

Swara was inside her room thinking about the Mr. Malhotra. The surname was so familiar to her. She was feeling a strong connection with it. Next morning after breakfast nirmala asked everyone to go temple with her.

"Bhabhi you know na... I don't believe in stone figures" sanskar said

"Sanskar...shut up you don't believe in God it doesn't means he is not real. You wait and watch he will catch you red handed one day" nirmala said

"Okay bhabhi I will wait for that day... OH yeah bhabhi when is bhai coming back" sanskar asked

"I don't know... he didn't told me exact date. Swara will you come with me" nirmala asked hoping she will agree

"Ok bhabhi I will come" swara said smiling

Nirmala was doing pooja when swara got a phone call. She went outside in order to hear it before she could say anything. "Ahhh... leave my hand "swara said. "We will leave but first we need you know what" head of gunda said

"What... I don't have anything" swara said trying to get free of there hold.

"You won't listen Ramu take her to the car" the boss said and ramu started dragging her to the car. She was crying for help but nobody came for helping her. Ramu was dragging her inside the car when another hand caught ramu hand. Swara looked up and saw it was sanskar. He freed swara's hand and then fixed her hand in his.

" Kya yaar itna kya gussa ki tum in logo ke saath jaa rahi ho" sanskar said

"Nahi wo..." swara tried to say something

"Chalo chodo jaldi chalo bhabhi wait kar rahi hai" sanskar said and started walking

"Arey arey... kaha chal diye ye ladki hamari hai" boss said stopping sanskar

"What are you talking bhaiya she came here with me if you know her then give some proof" sanskar said

"Accha chodiye swara you know them" sanskar asked swara

"No sanskar" swara said

"Suna bhaiya ab hume jane dijiye" sanskar said but the gundas were blocking his way. He punched so hard on their faces that their vision black out for a minute and in meantime he fled with swara.

"Thanks Mr. Maheshwari. I don't know how I will pay for all your favours. "swara said breathing heavily. He felt a pain struck in his heart when swara called him Mr. Maheshwari.

"Swara...It's no favour but if you really want to pay please call me sanskar only whether we are in home or not" sanskar said looking straight in swara's eyes and she nodded in yes. Swara asked about bhabhi and he assured that he have already sent bhabhi home.

It's all dark when someone enters in sanskar room and started checking his almirah. He unlocked the safe and caught hold of something. He brings it in the light. It was a pendrive.He was having a sly smile on his face. He was looking at the pendrive when someone knocked the door. He putted it back in the safe. "Sanskar... Sanskar are you awake" nirmala said entering room with a glass of milk. She switched on the lights and saw sanskar sleeping. "Sanskar...Wake up and drink this" nirmala said and woke up sanskar. He woke up with red eyes. "Thanks bhabhi "sanskar said and drank the whole glass in one take and slid again inside of quilt. Nirmala started scolding him for drinking milk like a child and then switched off the lights before leaving.

After a while sanskar woke up with a jolt. "Swara..." he shouted cum said. He was looking worried for swara and then he started laughing like a maniac.

"Swara...swara...swara" he said and slept smiling.

Swara was sleeping when she woke up sweating heavily. She saw the time. It was 2 A.M. she was feeling thirsty and the jug was empty. So she decided to fetch water from kitchen. She was about to climb down the stairs when she tripped. She thought next she is going to open her eyes in hospital only but when she opened her eyes she saw dark molten brown eyes looking at her. She realized it was Mr. Maheshwari who saved her this time also like a 'knight in shining armor'.

"Swara can't you even walk normally...You were going end up in hospital again if I wasn't able to save you" sanskar said scolding swara.

"I am sorry Mr. Maheshwari" swara said looking down.

"It's ok...I am sorry I shouldn't have shouted at you" sanskar said with guilt. "Where were you trying to go at this hour" sanskar asked

"Woh pani..." kitchen swara said stammering

"Okay... let's go together" sanskar said he was feeling guilty for scolding swara this bad. They had some water and swara took a bottle with her.

Swara was sleeping when she opened her eyes and reached to her bag. She took out a small key chain with a stuffed toy. She opened the stuff toy and took out a chip from it and smiled slyly. "Mr. Maheshwari I know you won't let me die until and unless you are sure what you have is the correct information. But don't worry till you crack the code of the pendrive my work will be done" swara said putting it back from where she took it out.

Poor girl, you have to bear my first blow... 😛 But I know you'll handle it nicely... But you to wait a day or two. I wrote half. But my own story is keeping me busy... I hope that's okay wid you.
