PART 8
Sanskar looked stunned hearing Swara's confession. He indeed knew Swara was not like others. She was definitely not a fake like Kavita. She was not selfish like his mom. He knew she would never betray him or his trust no matter what. He was sure about that...to be more specific his heart was more sure about that. But all the happenings so far in his life had made him weaken...weaken to trust anyone...weaken to bear any more betrayal.
Though hearing that someone loves him, felt like a pure bliss to him but he was too scared from inside to accept what his heart wanted. After so many years, he had got someone like Swara... So selfless, so caring, so loving, someone who never expected anything in return from him but had just given everything to him. Swara was no less than an angel in his life.
She had been always there for him directly or indirectly, but she had been. The thing which his parents should have been doing for him was done by Swara. She came like an angel in his life. He never imagined someone could love him also after what he had been facing from long.
He had started thinking he was the worst person ever. But with Swara, he always felt like a nice person. She made him want to be a nice person. And today, she was confessing her love for him. It was no less than a shock for him.
Swara placed her hand over his, understanding it was not easy for him to love someone again...to trust someone once again. She stared deep into his eyes assuring him that it had been enough bad with him. Now nothing except good was going to happen with him.
Her eyes assured him that he can trust her. Her soft smile told him she would make him smile from the bottom of his heart once again.
Her hold on his hand signalled him her determination... Determination that she would always be with him just like that...always holding his hand...protecting him from all the evils...Supporting him always, no matter what circumstance, situation and storms would knock the doors in their life. Her one gaze was enough to let him know that his life would be full of only and only happiness now.
Swara made him stand properly. "You go to your room. I will be there in a minute" Swara told him with a soft smile.
Confusion again got spread all over his face. It was surprising for him, after confessing her love she didn't demand him to answer or to reciprocate her feelings. She didn't ask him to get into a relationship. She didn't ask him whether he loves her or not. She didn't ask him whether he wanted to be with her or not. She simply asked him to go to his room.
"Trust me. Go. I will be there in a moment" She again said finding him to be still standing there, staring at her. He obeyed her quietly and went to his room. Sitting on the bed by taking back support, he closed his eyes to remember the happenings in past few minutes.
For the first time, he had let someone to break the walls he himself had formed around him to keep everyone away from him. For the first time, he had opened up to someone about his life. Laksh and Ragini had been his friends from long but still they only knew about Kavita. Sanskar didn't even tell his best friends about his life but he did let Swara know everything...every single thing about the incidents happened in his life so far.
This was definitely questionable. "WHY?" Why did he open up only to her? He never did feel that much calm when he was in relationship with Kavita what much calmness he experienced when Swara was around him. Why he always felt good, seeing Swara caring for him? Why did it hurt him like a hell when she was hurt? Why he was feeling the pain when he was dressing her wound? Why did he feel relaxed in her touch? WHY? Was he too having feelings for Swara?
His chain of thought broke with the sound of footsteps. He lifted his eyes to the door and found Swara entering in the room with a tray in her hand. His gaze fell on the plate of food in the tray. She had brought dinner for him. His eyes shined with a thin layer of tears. Once again her care touched his heart. She walked towards him and kept the tray on the bed.
Sitting down on the bed, she forwarded the plate to him asking him to eat, "You didn't finish your dinner. So I brought it here."
"I am not hungry Swara" He tried denying eating. How could one eat just after having an emotional outburst? Swara looked unaffected by his denial.
She took one bite from the plate and forwarded her hand to his mouth, "I am not listening anything. You are eating and that's final." Sanskar couldn't resist her pure care and concern and ate the bite silently from her hand. She smiled as he started eating. She again forwarded him one more bite but he held her hand in a soft grip. She raised her eyebrows at him.
"You were hungry and you also didn't eat." She bit her lower lip. To be honest, she too was damn hungry. Swara Bose could bear anything but Hunger...NEVER. Even Sanskar had got that by then.
She gave him embarrassed smile. "It's okay. You eat...I will eat later" She told him assuring while putting the bite in his mouth.
He moved a little towards her and fed her a bite from the plate glaring at her, "No...You will eat right now...With me and I don't want any argument over it." Swara chuckled seeing his fake anger. They both ate in silence feeding each other.
Swara went to kitchen to keep the plate back after they finished their dinner. She returned back after washing the plate and found Sanskar was still awake. He looked engrossed in something. Anyone would have told what he was engrossed in. Even Swara took no time to understand he was lost in his painful memories. Swara knew if he would keep thinking, he would not sleep the complete night.
She stepped inside and switched off the light, "Its late Sanskar. You should sleep now."
"I am not feeling sleepy" he told without looking at her. Asking him to shift, she made herself comfortable by resting herself with the back support of the bed in a sitting position.
"Sleep by keeping your head in my lap" she said knowing he would be awake all the night thinking over and over about his past. His eyes widen in shock hearing her.
He asked not wanting to make her uncomfortable, "Are you sure?"
She nodded positively. He kept his head in her lap and closed his eyes. Her hand kept caressing his hairs softly yet lovingly.
He asked her not opening his eyes, "Why me Swara? Why every bad thing has meant to be happen with me only?"Swara's hand stopped doing the work they were.
"May be because, God wanted your future to be brightest so he made your past to be darkest. You know Sanskar when we have only happiness in our life, we forget to respect it, we forget to treasure it and we forget to value the happiness. Just forget all the bad chapters in your book Sanskar. I promise you, your life from today will be a beautiful one. And I am sure you will soon forget your all bad memories because we will replace them with our happy ones"
Swara glanced at Sanskar's face as she finished talking. She smiled seeing him to be slipped into deep slumber of sleep. Swara had clearly got by then that inside Sanskar there still was a little kid who was craving for love and care. She rested her head back closing her eyelids and soon she too dozed off to sleep.
