Chapter 6
The memory of that day still haunted both Swara and Sanskar.That day created and destroyed life. That day made and broke relationships. That was an eventfull day.
Many Years before
...
In the club waiters were serving drinks . A man was setting in a corner, while all were enjoying their drinks and dinner his eyes where on the stage. He had a glass of whisky in his hand. But he had barely touched it. He was waiting for someone like a hunter waiting for his prey. And his eyes were burning with hatred .
As if his eyes had summoned a young women walked on to the stage. She started to talk to the audience .Her voice was sweet as honey and the face it looked so innocent. He laughed at his thought innocence and Swara it dont go together.
Swara was nervous . She don't know why but from the time she walked on to the stage she did not feel good. The stage was the only place where she felt good. The music made her forget her worries and well it paid her bills too and today that feeling was gone.
She started her usual routine. Talked a bit made people laugh a bit and then started her work. Singing. Though singing was her passion still singing here was not a thing she was comfortable with. The clothes were far too reveling for her to be comfortable and heels she was forced to wear was too high. But it was part of her uniform or costume and she had to wear it.
The man in the shadows watched her do her job. Is this what people call a job he thought. He took out cigar and was to light it when a waiter approached him and said " Sir this is a no smoking area".He put it back and smiled at the waiter. And looked back at her. He was determined to bring her true colour, out to show them what she pretends to be is not what she really is.
His gaze went to the table at front yes he is there and its time to bring home some truth. oh Boy she was sure to get some shocks today.
Swara took a long breath and started to sing.
"Saathi Rey Thoda Sa Thehar Ja
Abhi Raaste Kuch Badal Se Jaayenge
O Saathi Rey Thoda Thehar Ja
Yeh Paanv Bhi Ab Sambhal Se Jaayenge
Phir Wohi Barsaat Hogi
Aur Ashq Saare Dhul Se Jaayenge"
She looked divine like an angel while singing. Her curly black hair and the mouth a cupid's bow. Lips made to ki.. made to sing he thought.
Her job for the day had ended and Swara was back in her green room. She was late today. She decided not to remove her make up and just to change out of her dress. She really hated these short clingy dresses she was supposed to wear. She knew it was not just her voice but her figure too that got her the job. But many a time she found it a bit difficult to go on stage like that.
Especialy those rich brats those who cant understand a no is a no.
She unziped the dress and she sent a silent thanks to god that it opened at side and not in the back. Suddenly the door thrust open and entered a tall angry man.
Swara cliched the dress to her chest and glared at the man at her door. She was about to shout at him. But he beat her to that. Sanskar walked angrily towards her and asked " What kind of a woman are you?"
She was shocked and speech less. He barged in to her room and had to audacity to ask her what kind of woman she was. Swara looked angry shouted " Who the hell are you and Get out of my room."
Sanskar suddenly covered the distance between them and put his hand around her back. Brought her closer to him. Sanskar looked in to her eyes brought his face close to here. His lips were mere inches from heres. He tightened his hold on her. His other hand went behind her head making it difficult for her to move. He whispered to her" I am your worst nightmare." And placed his lips on her's.
Swara was shocked for a second she tried to wiggle out of his hold but he held her closer and kissed harder on her lips as if asking her to open up her lips . Slowly she lost herself in his lips and eyes. She was not sure on which. She moved backward with out breaking away from the kiss his hold on her loosened a bit. One of her hands curled around his collars making him move more closer to her.
Her back hit the dressing table knocking a bottle of water on them which pulled them out of the trance . And She pushed him away.
"Sansakr what the hell do you think you are doing." Swara asked him. " Oh now you know me is it Swara Gadodia. I thought you have forgotten me just like you seems to have forgotten that you are not Miss Gadodia but Mrs Maheswari."
She looked at him with disgust and asked " So the little performance you made now was showing your ownership over me was it Mr Maheswari. Good to know that you are still very much the man i loath."
"Oh there seemed to be no complaint on your part at that time swara or are you afraid of fact that you enjoyed it a bit too much. A kiss from the man who you hate so much."Sanskar mocked her.
