Hall of Annals
Previous set of clarifications on Sakura's Guide to Vajra Lands; link page 1

*Medha was a queen many centuries ago. She is the wife of Agni the king of elven folklore. It is said that she had the power to see the future and her followers had created the line Sambhava. They believe emotions blind your power, and to use the supreme of your power you have to cut off your emotional links.

**Since they were originally the followers of Agni's queen, the Sambhava clan is the priestesses of the temple of Agni. They have ways of altering people's mind or soul, and are very secretive about those. The priestesses have completely destroyed their sense of self, thus breaking the emotional ties with their souls to capture the full potential of their power. They do not practice dark magic however unlike the sect Noir.

***This explains why Sanskar could use Lakshya as a vessel. Because while used, the vessel's mind is locked away, the power is worked on his body not his mind. So the rite performed on him doesn't protect Lakshya from being used as a vessel, healing charms or perhaps mortal wounds. Because they affect his body not his mind.

Res for 14 on this thread. 😊

Un-Res

What a truly magical chapter this was, Saku. šŸ¤—

So many details of the past, revealed with your masterly flick of your wand.
šŸ¤—

So Ram (Sanskaar's father----nice choice of name, BTW) 😊, was a childhood friend of Arya's. That's an interesting connection there, between Sanskaar and Swara into the next generation. 😳 They had been very good friends, very close---did Ram possibly have feelings for her as well? But Arya undoubtedly loved only Rishi Agarwal, though Mohan loved her truly (a fact which both she and Ram became aware of). I loved the calm, sensible way in which Ram said he would uncomplicate the unintentional tetra he had created šŸ˜† by indefinitely postponing his decision on the proposed marital alliance with Arya. He hoped that she would choose Mohan, but she instead chose Rishi...

So Swara is Rishi Agarwal's daughter? And still, despite that, he is only focused on his experiments. Even in the present time, he is bent on "studying" Swara---I guess he realizes she is his daughter? Parineeta is his adopted daughter of sorts (actually the Skia's sister----Agni's daughter. Does she still recollect her elven heritage? Or has Rishi brainwashed her?)

I just loved the SwaSan interactions throughout this piece. That initial scene where Swara muses that she finds it so easy to confide everything to Sanskaar, including her less than pleasant memories of her biological father. I found his response so Sanskaar-ish 😊 He casually suggests, that it may be part of th spell he is casting on her as an Oneiro---which is perhaps kind of the truth, since in an earlier chapter you mentioned how he was following the simple approach of getting her to open up to him, to reveal more and more of her secrets; by opening up to her in turn. One confession from Sanskaar eliciting another from Swara. 😊 But I guess the Oneiro doesn't realize that this spell perhaps cuts both ways. 😳 šŸ˜‰

I loved the way he went into a near trance, so enthralled by Swara, the honey gold glow of her eyes; the fact of her innocent and guileless trust in him. He is falling---no, he has already fallen---hard. 😳

So Lakshya sees Swara with the mysterious Mr Maheshwari---and instantly recognizes his Bhai. He seems rather taken aback and confused by the sight though, and not happy with the apparent closeness between Sanskaar and Swara. šŸ˜• Ragini/ Janki has already started both feeling and giving off these really bad vibes. šŸ˜• And when Sanskaar tucks a lock of Swara's hair behind her ear, gently grazing her earring, she gets an image in her mind's eye, of him being shot and wounded. Lakshya at work? Or Janki/ Ragini? 🤢

And then we had that flashback into Annapurna's memories of her past; of the day Ram got wedded to Aruna, but Annapurna was delighting in the fact that she, despite being the betrothed of the Vajra only as his junior queen, still got so much attention from everyone. Aruna seems to have had the measure of Annapurna all right, doesn't she? 😊

So the seers told Annapurna that she would surely reign as queen for a long time (which has come true)---though not for the king she desired to reign for...Nice, very nice. šŸ˜‰

And then comes the meeting between Annapurna and her beloved "blank bloke" son, with his image, magically transmitted, rather. And we get to know that he has recognized his Bhai after all. Yikes. Worrying, wondering how those juxtaposed spells performed on him (one by the Sambhava witches, was it? Under Annapurna's and Aryamaan's orders), and the other by Sanskaar, wiping his memories---how that potentially explosive cocktail would come into play now.

The ending section was just amazing, a poetic rendering, almost, of the dard ka rishta between SwaSan. Sanskaar is just enable to resist Swara's innocence, guilelessness, her aura of purity. And he has begun to have very serious misgivings about how he is planning to betray her, about how his Ma would treat her once he brought her back to Vajrateerta. I liked the way how he recognized that he had indeed come under the spell of Swara's innocent charm, that he was not immune to her. I loved how he was completely unable to stop glancing at her sleeping form, fascinated by her lovely, ethereal glow.

And then came that lovely scene---of him once again, sharing her pain, taking it away, replacing it instead with happy, pleasant memories of her days spent as a child in the Fortress of the Nagas. He assures her, with determination and grit, that no one os going to hurt her! And he is quite shattered to realize that Swara fears he is the person who would be hurting her, causing her to be tortured.

I was struck by the fact that despite Swara's nightmare, her fear of the Yuvraj of the Vajras, it was still Sanskaar's name she called out in her sleep. 😳

Eagerly going off to comment on the next chapter soon, my dear!

Lots of Love,
