SwaSan's journey is one of the most beautiful journey I have ever experienced on Television. I have never been so crazy about any couple before. And my most favorite part of their journey was when they had started falling in love with each other and yet they didn't know about it.
Did their love happen overnight? No
Did they realize it overnight? No
Did they win each other overnight? No
Did they unite overnight? No
It was a long, beautiful journey filled with love, friendship, trust, respect, angst, pain and separation. But before we reach the end, lets start from the beginning.
Sanskaar Maheshwari, the lost and presumed dead son of the Maheshwari household, came back after 5 years, only to revenge the death of his love from his uncle and his cousin. His ultimate victim was Swara bose. He was blinded by his revenge and his partner in crime, Ragini was blinded by her obsession over first love. They both start their revenge game, to do anything and everything in power to separate Swara and Laksh.
Swara was able to break the walls of his revenge without even knowing his real identity. He realized what he did and what he was doing to her wasnt right. She shouldn't be punished for the crimes others committed. And he planned to back off. So is it out of his overnight love for her that made him back out? NO. It was his guilty conscience of letting her suffer made him feel that way. He already had suffered the loss of his love and he certainly didn't want anyone to feel that way, at least not that innocent girl. Finally, he exposes himself in front of her, by first saving her from Mohini and then telling her the truth. She understood him, forgave him and gave him the chance to redeem. Was that out of overnight love that she developed for him? NO. It was just out of the understanding that the poor guy had suffered way too much. She understood his pain of losing his first love, his pain and his demons and let him go. She wanted to give him the second chance. And that is in her nature. The girl forgives everyone and believes in second chances. And let me not remind how many second chances Swara has given to her sister. Sanskaar realizes his mistake again and tries to pull Ragini out of the mess he had pushed her into. But Ragini was far too gone before he could even do anything. He calls Swara the same night to thank her for helping him see the truth and to promise her his support whenever she would need him. Was that out of overnight love or friendship or trust? NO. He was just grateful to her for that second chance she gave him even after the horrendous things he did with her. Did Swara start trusting him then and there? Did their relationship on trust and friendship develop overnight? NO. But there was something he did develop overnight. Respect for her, which was yet to develop. Swara didn't even trust him then. She started trusting him when he did anything and everything in his power to make sure she reaches the mandaap on time and Ragini doesn't succeed in her evil games. Sanskaar thought that he finally got a chance to make up for the wrongs he did on her. He encourages her to fight and get up, apologetically picks her up in the bridal style when she is not able to walk, carries her to the car when he is himself hurt by the nail. "The Enchanting Pal" that my dear friend Sumi calls it was actually the beginning of the relationship of trust between them, which was yet to develop. But call that her bad fate (I would certainly call that a good fate and so would all the SwaSanians I can bet) that she didn't make it on time.
She had lost everything. All her relations except of her maa and dida had misunderstood her and disowned her. Her parents broke up. Sanskaar was again guilt driven even after Swara's constant assurance that he wasnt responsible for what had happened. Swara wanted to fight, not because she wanted to win her "louuu" back but because she wanted to reunite her parents. Sanskaar wanted to help her fight this battle. Even if not completely, he was still partly responsible for what had happened. The girl had helped him fight with his own demons and reunite with his family. And now it was his turn to do so. He extended the hands of friendship, which marks the beginning of a new relationship between them, which was again yet to develop. The base of their friendship was the little amount of overnight trust they had developed for each other. And the fight began. With each passing day and with their new plans, their trust and friendship kept developing. Sanskaar started respecting her more and more with each passing day. He was surprised to see Swara, so positive, so rightful and still being full of life, even after being wronged by so many people in her life. He spent 5 damn years of his life in pain, darkness and revenge. So her positivity towards everything attracted him, just like a magnet. He starts caring for her, falling for her beautiful heart. He loved spending time with her, discussing with her, knowing about her and also arguing with her. After 5 damn years, his heart once again starts beating, starts feeling happy and content, because of her. He realizes it as well but doesn't let her know. Instead he shows it by not letting anyone harm her or insult her. He feels her happiness when she is happy. His heart cries with her when she is crying. And when he couldnt take her pain, he decided to end all her miseries by confessing to all his and Ragini's crimes and get her the well deserved justice. But while confessing to his crimes, he confesses those feelings that he was trying to hide. He confesses how he has fallen in love with her, how he doesn't know why it was just her that he fell in love with, how he doesn't know whether his love would get any reciprocation but he still loved her and he couldnt live without her. I believe, Sanskaar himself realized the intensity of his love that day. This confession is one of the best confession I have ever seen in the history of Indian television and I think majority (SwaSanians and non-SwaSanians as well) would agree with that. He had realized that he seriously cannot live or breathe without her, after all she is the same person who had instilled a life in him after being "lifeless" for 5 years. Swara learns about his feelings and was shocked. She couldnt take it because she was not ready for it. She took it as a "dhokha". She ridiculed his feelings, not because she wanted to. But because she didn't want to feel distracted from her goal of uniting her parents. Because she didn't want to suffer the same heart break yet again. She was in denial. But even before she could tell that to him, Sanskaar knew that his love will always remain one-sided and that she would never love him back. And hence he had promised himself that he will support her in everything but will never force his love on her. Swara was still in denial and didnt understand and still called his love a dhokha. She even broke the friendship that they had. It pained him a lot but he still took it for her. Sanskaar didn't let her insult his feelings for her but yet he did support her until she got her deserved justice. And they were successful in uniting her parents. Swara also thanks him for the support. So, was it an overnight development of love for Swara from Sanskaar's side? A BIG NO.
Now comes the next question, Was Swara's love realization and confession for Sanskaar an overnight development? Lets see.
Due to the circumstances created by her sister, Swara was again forced to go back to MM and pretend to work on the relationship with Sanskaar. But before doing so, Swara does apologize to Sanskaar for always insulting his feelings and breaking off their friendship as per her convenience and using him for her plans. She gives him the way out not because she hates him. But because she didn't want to use him and his redemption was over. But Sanskaar doesn't back out. He still supports her and promises to stand by her. He tells her that he is doing it out of their friendship. But Sanskaar, SwaSanians and even Swara knew that he was doing it out of love for her. But she didnt argue over it. Not because she has fallen in love with him. But only because she respected him and didn't want to insult him any further. She trusted him and his friendship. She knew he was a man with true words. He had promised her that he would never force his love on her and she knew that he will keep his promise. She respected his support despite of her constantly insulting him few days ago. And now, there was no need to feel distracted anymore since her parents had reunited. Sanskaar, by mistake, does give out hints of his love for her but eventually covers it up with friendship vows. Swara, realizing it, doesn't react which does surprise him and even SwaSanians but even he ignores. He feels at peace for finally she had accepted their friendship again. He cares for her and protects her like a true gentlemen. She is left awestruck every time he does something for her. Be it giving her water when she is coughing, or fasting for her during karva chauth or be it taking the blame on himself for the decision they both take. She does get mad, but it is like a wife getting mad at her husband. He explains to her in the most general way of how she shouldn't force her decision on him when he is doing the same and she agrees. Her respect for him keeps increasing day by day, second by second, which slowly develops into care and concern for him. The reason is because she has never seen such a man in her life who is so giving and respectful towards her. She starts worrying for his health, his medicines, his water intake, his clothes. She had started falling for him, especially his selflessness, not realizing it then. She feels attracted when he flirts with her and compliments her but doesn't pay attention to those developing feelings of her. Not because she is still in denial but because of the mess created by her sister and devarji, being the constant distraction. So definitely, love didn't happen overnight from Swara's side.
Did the realization happen overnight? A BIG NO. How? Lets see.
Swara blames Sanskaar for Ragini's kidnapping and unintentionally committed one of her biggest mistake of her life. She didn't trust him and that breaks him completely and he finally breaks their friendship. Sanskaar is someone who gives trust the most importance, in any relationship, even more than love. And he believed that he and Swara did come a long way to not break their trust on each other. But Swara did and he couldnt take it. And the moment he broke off their friendship, she felt as if she lost everything. She still didn't realize what it was. All she knew was that she felt empty without him. She felt lifeless without him. She felt as if someone just snatched the strongest pillar of her being. And why wouldn't she? After all it was Sanskaar who had helped her stay strong in every weakest moment of her life. He was still there in front of her and she tried to mend their broken friendship. But her efforts didn't really pay off. She just couldnt take the ignorance from his side. It bothered her, not realizing the real reason yet. He gets even more frustrated and drops her back to baadi. She has a heart to heart talk with her mum. Slowly she recollects every moment with him, when she is alone in her room. Her sindoor dibbi falls and she manages to save it from falling and thats when the realization kicks in. She realizes that she has fallen in love with him. She recalls his confession, their sindoor marriage and reciprocates it by saying "I love you too Sanskaar" by watching herself in the mirror. If Sanskaar's confession was one of the best confession on Indian television, I think Swara's self realization of her love for Sanskaar was again one of the best realization I have ever seen in the history of Indian television. The most purest way of realizing the real feelings for him. She tries to confess in the most cutest way possible by using notes and sound recordings. But because now he is going through a denial phase, he is not able to trust that she actually loves him. He takes it as her sympathy. She confesses it out loud again, in front of everyone, yet he doesn't accept it. And the moment he hears the sound recording and is ready to open his heart windows for her and accept her love for him, the destiny yet again plays a cruel game with them by bringing kavita back in their life. They again go through the pain of separation and angst, dying thousand death every moment by not being able to stay with one another. They struggle to smile just to keep their loved ones happy but yet they do. They both knew it was impossible for them to survive without one another, but still they tried. God finally gave up on the amount of miseries their destiny had inflicted on them and reunited them at his own residence. The cutest and purest mutual confession ever. He finally reunited the two souls, who loved each other to death and who were yearning to be with one another.
So yes, SwaSan's love journey was the most beautiful journey ever that I have experienced and yes, it wasnt an OVERNIGHT business at all. Their journey had everything and I feel proud to be a part of their journey.
