Pawan is such a great friend...absolutely lovely !! He's such a perceptive fellow...whether it is instinctively knowing that Sanskaar is head over heels in love with Swara or realizing that he needs to rest before they head out on a new mission !
😆 about sending him to get clothes for Swara...i burst out laughing aloud...and loved how Lord Pawan diffuses the situation between the two hot heads and craftily also plays cupid by knowing what would bring to leave that argument aside...beshttt fraand he be !! Him being impressed with Swara's ability to take on Sanskaar brought a smile to my face...that's what made it clear that he will be a great friend to Swara as well...i can totally imagine them together pulling Sanskaar's leg !!
Loved the touch where before Pawan's interference she actually calls him out for taking decisions for him...I think i read in your response to the other Shru about a man's assumption that he knows best...even if it is true at times...hahaa...loved how that manifested here and how in the prev chapter he was cognizant enough to tell her about the opiate...but here he's like ofcourse it's better to send you back :P...ummm Sanskaar...ask your lady love please...it's killing her as much as it is killing you to think it/say it !! And that in turn is leading any attempts at conversation to back fire...sigh...the whole meal that followed was laden with that atmosphere !
I think until now Swara has still not acknowledged to self that she's in love with Sanskaar...she feels dread at the thought of parting from him and even names it being dependent on him...but there is a deeper emotion...that she needs to confess to herself first...maybe PKJ will coax that out of her ?
🤣 @ Veer and Varun's fight for Swara...Horsie jealousy is as endearing as human interactions !! That and Pawan's conversation with her is so amazing...like you mentioned in your PM...Swara does need a friend...and who better than Pawan :) The way he gives her a view into their past...and when he compares the horses to their masters, it was so tongue in cheek :P Well done Pawan...shows how deep their friendship runs that he takes such liberties.. (i couldn't stop laughing at the Lakshya part...can totally imagine him huffing and puffing)..
Swara did so well with Sushena...to give him that peace of mind in times of suffering was such a wonderfully regal thing to do...especially since as a woman in those times, I'm sure she would have felt squeamish about his condition...but she not only managed to calm his soul by his words, but all the while made sure she was doing the task of feeding him...such a lovely gesture ! By giving him that honour and dignity, atleast assuaged some of his pain... and loved how you segued that into the other soldiers coming up to her and giving her that respect...the way you've brought home the point that some soldiers have way better values than the noble bred (DSR..ugh)...is fabulous !! And Sanskaar feeling pride in his men as well as her is so heart warming *see this is why you shouldn't talk about her leaving*
Eagerly waiting for the next part Shru...hopefully it follows the Prince with his old Swara who he coaxed into smiling with his story about stones and windows and break-ins...awww...

I loved writing the waking up together and him holding her, hands in her hair, having calmed her all night- there was a sensuality I felt there without any overt sexual overtones intended or conveyed really. Just as you said- pure and simple love, the "real" type.
Sanksaar is truly capable of Herculean feats no? He cannot help but overthink as he loves so much and it is all about her for him, not about himself. If only they were each a little less selfless but then, they wouldn't be them and we wouldn't be this mad over them too! What a conundrum! I like the heart bubbles 😆
I was waiting for the Pawan praising- and you didn't disappoint 😆 But he was hilarious no? I used perceptive for him in another comment too!! *hi5*! Yes, he sees a lot! and also makes more happen too 😉, such as a shopping trip. I LOVED the idea of macho Sanskaar sending his macho warrior friend to knock on doors asking for clothes 😆. Pawan had to draw the line there!! I mean Sanskaar- hadd hai! I wanted a Swa-Pa bond too 😉😳 - there is so much potential for fun there!
YES!! Me and Lanny discussed that- feminist pet hate (although I am a slightly different kind of feminist I guess!) but men thinking they know it all even if they do, I get annoyed with. So here, Sanskaar giving her the choice to drink something drugging made sense but of course the decision he is making is entirely justified and he cannot be running to her to ask everything but her getting annoyed as she really doesn't want to go but doesn't know how to say it made sense too:). Yes, that whole undercurrent lingers now- both stressing about her leaving is now embedded.
Very correct- Swara HASN'T verbalised that love she so clearly feels, even to herself. She hasn't really consciously connected those dots. When they left the Haveli she was sort of taken aback as she mistakenly thought she had more time and then the nastiness that ensued of course wasn't conducive to analysing those feelings that have been building, and whilst when she saw him fight Devendra's men she did sort of have the gut feel of love, she is now yet to formally acknowledge this to herself. Let us see how I manage to weave that.
I couldn't resist a Varun here! It was to be Vayu but in dedication to my beloved VK, it became Varun 😳. I liked the idea of the horses competing and then also that leading to an easy common topic for Swa-Pawan. And haha- yes, animals do take on characertistics of their masters- my sister swears by this- they have 2 dogs! And she has very effectively pointed this out for me with multiple examples 😆 And the Lakshya joke 😆- he isn't even spared in the third person!
Throughout the comments on this chapter, I have loved everyone's appreciation of the scene with Sushena. I know so many never thought I would have Susanna's life ended but kya karein, I have this streak of realism and to me all rounded stories need to have some tragedy too so my way was to make such a man have a good end and I so wanted to show how Swara is a really regal soul despite her age and inexperience. Much like Sanskaar- she has intrinsic qualities in her that make her a natural at things. Sanskaar is in so much trouble - own conflict, horses like her, best friend does and now even the army! 😆 and Prince feels she needs to go! 😲
I hope I won't disappoint you all with the next Chapter. I too feel we need some lightness but of course there are still underlying issues lurking .
Loving the doubling up of P&J, reading Varun waala made me even more 😳😳😆- if my husband reads this even more than usual eye rolls will follow 😆
