Res 🤗 🤗
Shru...what a tasty treat to wake up to on a weekend morning. ..went very well with my steaming mug of adrak & elaichi chai. 😉Shru. ..please do bear with me this time, will be taking some time to un res for my comprehensive revert. Have work commitments today plus kiddos art class, plus my pending replies to comments (including your lovely ones) on my OS threads.(Holds ears)...you'll understand, na? I don't wanna give cursory comments on your updates.Un-ResShru...🤗 🤗Darling, what a swashbuckling historical tale of Romance, gallantry and derring-do this is shaping up to be. 🤗 You know that I love "Trial By Fire" the most among all your splendid works. Perhaps a close second being "Restored by Grace". But this piece has come galloping right in on that majestic steed you portrayed SwaSan riding on, into my list of favorites amongst your glittering works. 🤗 🤗Before I get down to the plot, just wanted to say that I loved the symbolism here. Sanskaar and Swara riding away from the palace in the stygian darkness of the night, and reaching a border outpost just as a new day dawns...the sky garbled in pink and gold. ...new hope, new beginnings, a new life for both of them. 😊And the name of the outpost: Moud. 😉 What a stroke of genius there, my dear sis, to show the crossroads on their lives. Lovely wordplay. 👏 I'm seriously telling you, we have a massive soul connect going on. My next drabbles set (based on drafts I'd written earlier but kept aside on editing for future use), has a song stanza, which has the word "mod". It was so surreal, seeing this wordplay in your chapter too. We must have been sisters in another life, I swear...Ok you probably think I'm nuts, for focusing on these little nuggets instead of the overall narrative, but as I've told you before, I do find these lovely details dovetailing and adding to the stream of the plotline. 😊I liked this feisty Swara. 👏 She wasn't prepared to just resign herself to being a hostage initially, she did her best to escape from Sanskaar. And she tried to persuade him to set her free, too ; but she hasn't yet realized (as Sanskaar has) that her sister would have poisoned the Gadodias and the Maheshwaris against her, painting her as a low traitor. God, Ragini is so vile!!Poor Swara...she feels completely shattered at Ragini's betrayal, my heart went out to her as she recalled the hatred pouring out get sister's eyes, the fact that she had wanted her dead. Luckily, she does also remember that Sanskaar refused to fall in with Ragini's machinations to eliminate herself. 😳 As well as the blazing look of concern in his eyes when he saved her from that attacker.Sanskaar has started developing feelings for her, which is quite obvious at the pang he feels when she shows an aversion or distaste for him. His lips compress, his stout heart does ache at the thought of her poor opinion...Shru...I have a doubt here. What did Sanskaar mean when he thought that she would think of him as a traitor, a heartless monster, with the half truth he was currently revealing...but yet he could not afford to reveal the full truth to her? Why does he think he cannot speak of the full truth? Does this relate to putting the pieces of the map together and locating the missing key? And finding the missing sword? Does he hesitate to share with her his suspicions of Lakshya? But Sanskaar didn't strike me as a man who would try to equivocation and temporize. ...so is there a further layer of mystery here?SwaSan's interaction with the old man and his daughter in law, in that sleepy hamlet was so well done. Swara trying desperately to convey a message by leaving behind her bracelet with the Gadodia crest and heraldry; and Sanskaar's cold, menacing reaction, disguised as an affectionate caress, when he discovers what she's tried. How long before he really looks at her with his heart in his eyes, and slides bangles lovingly on her wrist? 😳Shru...you do take requests from your pals for certain scenes na? You know how crazy I am about closing the circles and symmetry. I want a scene in a later chapter, with Prince Sanskaar adorning Princess Swara's arms with kangans. ☺️ Both of them gazing at each other with all the love and trust in the world...you'll give me that, won't you? Pretty please? 😉I just loved the way the old man talked to SwaSan. I'm certain he recognized who Sanskaar was. And the way he spoke glowing lying about his impeccable credentials, his patriotism and honor, would surely have given Swara something to ponder about. The best part was those words of wisdom: not everything is as it seems. Something which seems irrefutable, may be just a falsehood, cunningly garbed. Hope Swara sees things in the correct light soon. 😉Waiting for chap 9 darling. 🤗

Unres:
Shruti,
Great update. I am loving this pace and direction of this fanfiction. Really looking forward to more amazing updates.
Swara finally came out of shock and trying to reason with her saviour/abductor/kidnapper.
Sanskaar has an unwanted companion and he is trying to adjust his plans accordingly.
Loved every bit of SwaSan interaction you have given.
The old man with twinkling eyes and cryptic words reminded me of Dumbledore! 😛
The families have now been convinced that SwaSan eloped. I am dancing with joy!
Sorry for this short reply. I'm a little caught up with studies. However, I will be looking out for your updates. Please update soon. :)

really nice one. swara as was expected to do her best to run away from the captivity of prince sanskar, but she has been in too much shock to process all the information that she has seen. she is hoping that palace will be her salvation when it will turn out to be her death wish. i hope she wakes up to that at some point that running away from sanskar is one thing, and running towards the palace something else.
i liked how the old grandfather recognised who sanskar was. the subtle indication you had given, made me feel he would and also that sanskar would try to help them when he found out about the son. what was beautiful was the message that the grandfather gave sanskar about trusting him and subtle to swara, who i am sure will realise it at some point after your turning point.all the women taken in by ragini...i am not surprised. i am glad janaki along with sharmista at least raised some question, but ones that never last long. am i sure egoist laksh having being rejected by one sister for his brother, will now willingly marry the other one to rub it in and show the others he has moved on...which wouldnt be tough for him.sanskar will try to make it into the castle at some point to find the sword he was looking for. wonder if swara will be there by his side, trusting him by then.waiting for the next part.

Shrutiii...what a wonderful chapter 8 🤗🤗
Swara's condition...I feel for her...dealing with the fact that her sister is a viper who wanted her dead can be so overwhelming. I loved the touch with the reels of the past, a glimpse of Swara's thoughts...of how she landed where she landed. That culminated with the unmasking of two characters in her life. The first a friend, the second a part of her soul !!To add to that she's still undecided about the mad prince. Here's a friend turned stranger who saved her once from an unknown assailant, saved her again by not going through with her sister's plan yet chooses to hold her hostage and go against his family and state.Sanskaar in his element is very fun and exciting to read. He knows the best way to move forward, is prepared to be undetected and does his best to make sure nothing derails his plan. Even his unwilling companion. I knew Swara wouldn't make things easy for him, he'd probably lose respect for her if she did :) Loveddd how he's able to latch on to every thought she has on escaping and calls her out before it can take form in her head. The mermaid princess will have to do better to compete with this prince ;)He hates being a villain for her, but can't really do anything else, atleast not until she's in a better form of life. The fact that he's able to understand the fear and disgust he's instilling in her and how that in turn affects him is a masterclass of emotions.UGH DDD !!! How a sibling goes to such lows to get her way...sigh ! By tainting two royal beings, she's near cemented her position at MM. Her histrionics grated against my nerves. For the reactions of the others, I get how they are conflicted but it all stems down to why will DDD lie. She the sweet demure sacrificing nut has no reason to lie. sooo freaking smart !!I love the regal presence of both Janaki and Annapurna. AP will probably have to face the music, because she freed her son, but I have hope that she knows better or atleast has the faith in her son !!The interaction of S&S in Moud (btw love the name !!) is filled with so many lovely details that provide more glimpses into Sanskaar's underlying character. Whether his ability to spin tales effortlessly or remain vigilante and on point...everything indicative of his intelligence.Swara's efforts to alert her family, haha...that was quite a good plan. Though I'm sure had that succeeded it would only corroborate Ragini's version (eew). But lucky for her it didnt, and Sanskaar's reaction to it is priceless !!The old man's piece of advice. He evidently noticed more than anyone intended to. Sanskaar's graciousness, Swara's flustered self and probably the identity of the fallen prince. I hope Swara pays heed to his words and tries to look and understand her mad friend. The journey they are on seems like a long and ardous one...which will probably ease only if these two develop a relationship of trust... *Also seriously hoping she doesn't extend that courtesy to DDD and say...eh so u stabbed me in the back...what gives...sisters for life*Eagerly awaiting the next parts Shru...🤗
