Chapter 9:-
Today is RagLak's sangeet ceremony at Ragini's house. All the women from the nearby areas have arrived. Ragini's family members are also present. Swara is Ragini's younger sister and Jagadhara Devi Gadodia is her mother. They are not very rich but have a very strong self- respect. Swara is studying her bachelors degree and her mother used to work in a cement factory but now, due to her growing age, she stopped working. Hence, Ragini started working to feed her family. All the women are very happy. They are singing, dancing, enjoying to the fullest while Ragini is lost in her thoughts. She is tensed about her future with Lakshya.
Swara (to Ragini)- Di, come let's dance.
Ragini doesn't realise that Swara is talking to her. She is still lost in her thoughts.
Swara- Di?? Are you okay?
Ragini comes back to her senses in a jerk.
Ragini- Shona, when did you come? Weren't you dancing? Do you need something?
Swara- Di, what's wrong? Aren't you happy with this marriage? You always loved Lakshya jiju. Now when he is going to be yours forever, why are you tensed?
Ragini- No Shona, I'm fine.
Swara- Really? Then why are you so lost in your thoughts?
A lady- Arrey Shona, don't you understand? She is lost in the thoughts of her Lakshya. You'll understand at the time of your marriage.
Swara- Aunty, spare me!
Swara blushes and runs away. All the women start laughing. This time Ragini also laughs. For a second, she forgets everything. Suddenly, Lakshya enters and starts looking for Ragini.
Lakshya- Ragini? Ragini, where are you?
Swara sees him screaming Ragini's name. This is the first time she's seeing Lakshya so she doesn't realise that he is the groom. She thinks he is from the groom's side so she decides to confront him. She goes to him and blocks his way.
Swara- Hello? Who are you? How dare you come inside my house like this? Don't you know boys are not allowed to enter the sangeet ceremony?
Lakshya- Sorry? Your house?
Swara- Yeah, of course. This is my house.
Lakshya- But wasn't this Ragini's house? I've come here with her a couple of times.
Swara- She's my sister. Are you from the groom's side?
Lakshya- Oh, so you are Swara. Well, I'm not from the groom's side but I'm the groom himself! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to talk to my bride. May I?
Swara literally starts shivering out of nervousness.
Swara- I'm...I'm sorry, jiju. I didn't know it was you. I'm really sorry.
Lakshya- Whatever! Now, let me go. I need to talk to her.
Swara- Sorry jiju, I can't let you go. Boys are not allowed.
Lakshya- Accha? Am I allowed inside if I buy you something you need? A chocolate or something? Anything you want me to buy you in return of letting me in? Think Swara, think. Let me go inside for 5 minutes and I'll buy you anything you ask for. You'll be in profit, little shorty!
Swara- Hey, don't call me that!
Lakshya- Alright, I won't call you that. Just let me in.
Swara- Alright, buy me a chocolate then.
Lakshya- I promise I will. Let me meet her first.
Swara- No! Chocolate first. Can't you wait for a few minutes to see her? After few days, she'll be yours forever. And then you can see her as much as you want.
Lakshya- Uff! Fine, let's go.
Swara- Yayyy! You're the best, jiju.
Lakshya (in mind)- Irritting Ragini's irritating sister! Well, Swara is less irritating though.
Swara and Lakshya enter a nearby shop to buy chocolates. Swara buys lots and lots of chocolates. Lakshya pays the bill and then they return to the sangeet ceremony.
Swara- You can't enter from the front door. I'll open the back door for you. Enter from that door and immediately run to Gu (she was about to say Guddi but then stops in the middle because she knows about the past)...I mean Ragini Di's room. I'll send her to you.
Lakshya- But don't tell her that I'm here, okay? I wanna surprise her.
Swara- Okay, but make sure that I don't become an aunt before 9 months.
Lakshya- Chup, Swara! Such a naughty girl you are.
Lakshya and Swara both start laughing. After a while, Swara raises her thumb up and leaves. She opens the back door and Lakshya immediately runs to Ragini's room.
Lakshya (in mind)- Swara, how stupid you are! You think I've come here to romance with your sister? Wrong! I've come here to remind her that only 5 days are left for the death of her happiness. An aunt? Forget 9 months Swara, you won't become an aunt even after 9 years!
Ragini was watching the dance performances when Swara comes with a juice tray in hand. She intentionally spills the juice on Ragini's dress.
Swara- Ouh! Sorry di, I didn't do that intentionally. I'm so sorry.
Ragini- Arrey, don't be sorry, Shona. It happens. I'll just be back.
Swara- Where are you going, di?
Ragini- Washroom.
Swara- Washroom? Why?
Ragini- Shona, what's wrong with you? I'm going to the washroom to wash the juice off my dress. I can't wear it like this.
Swara- Exactly di, why don't you just go and change the dress itself instead of washing the juice off?
Ragini- May be you're right. I'll be back.
Swara- Okay, di.
Saying this, Ragini goes to her room and Swara smiles. Ragini enters her room and locks the door. She opens the cupboard and takes out another dress. Lakshya was hiding behind the curtain. He is confused as to what Ragini is doing. Why is she taking out another dress? Ragini is about to open the dress she was wearing when suddenly, Lakshya comes out.
Lakshya- Wait, wait! Don't open your clothes.
Ragini literally jumps out of fear. She immediately turns around feeling embarrassed.
Lakshya- You must be thinking what I'm doing here, right? Don't worry, I have no intensions of doing something with you. I just came here to remind you about our marriage. 5 days to go, Ragini Gadodia. 5 more days and you're mine! You'll no longer be Ragini Gadodia after that. You'll be known as Mrs. Ragini Lakshya Maheshwari. But so sad of you, you'll have to see your husband sleeping with other girls.
Ragini gets frustrated this time. She turns around to face Lakshya.
Ragini- Let me tell you this Mr. Lakshya Maheshwari, I'm getting married to you for your welfare and not for your property. I never said that I wanted to marry you, did I? Did I ever flirt with you? Did I ever touch you like Tina used to do? Did I ever sleep with you? And what am I supposed to do if you sleep with other girls? Cry for you? Get jealous? You've already slept with more than 15 girls. So do you want me to sleep with other boys as well?
Lakshya couldn't hear this. He pushes her. She hits the wall and he pins her against it holding her arms tight, blocking all her ways to go out. His eyes literally turn red out of anger. Ragini gets scared and starts crying.
Ragini- What are you doing? Let me go.
Lakshya- Don't you dare say that, do you get it? I may be an a**, I may be sleeping around with anyone and everyone out there but I won't let any man even touch my wife. No matter who she is! For now, it's you and hence, I'm not letting anyone come close to you. I was an a** and I'll be the same forever but you, my girl, will have to live your life as per my wish and that is your punishment.
Ragini- How could you say that, Lakshya? How could you say such things to a girl?
Lakshya- Come again! Did you just call me Lakshya? Wow! You've started calling me by my name even before marriage. Have you forgotten that I'm still your boss?
Ragini- But soon you're gonna be my husband too. And do you expect me to call you sir even after that?
Lakshya- Ragini, I won't spare you!
Ragini- So, what's new in that? You never did. You've already hurt me a million times. My heart has been broken so many times that it doesn't feel no pain now. All thanks to you, Lakshya Maheshwari!
Lakshya- I hurt you? When did I?
Ragini- You did, too many times. Not only unintentionally but also intentionally! You broke the trust that I had on love. And there's still time. If you don't wanna marry me, why don't you just talk about it to your dad? Why do you hurt me for no reason? I'm not dying to marry you either. You're not the only guy left to marry.
Lakshya gets angry hearing this.
Lakshya- Accha? Then I'll marry you for sure. Because I will take revenge on you anyhow.
Then, Swara knocks at the door.
Swara- Di, Jiju? Open the door.
Lakshya leaves her arms and lets her go. Ragini wipes her tears and walks to the door. She opens it and Swara enters.
Swara- Arrey, did I disturb you guys?
Ragini looks at her angrily.
Ragini- Shona!
Swara- Oops! Sorry di, but I have a request.
Ragini- What is it?
Swara (to Lakshya)- Jiju, hug di from behind and I'll click a picture of you both. My friends will die of jealousy when they'll get to know that my jiju is so handsome.
Lakshya looks at Ragini and smirks. Ragini looks at Swara angrily.
Ragini- Shona, what's this? Don't be so childish!
Lakshya (to Ragini)- Arrey Ragini, it's okay. Let's do it. After all, she is my only sister in law. I'll have to complete her demands, right?
Ragini doesn't say anything. She keeps looking down. Lakshya hugs her from behind and she starts breathing heavily by his touch. Lakshya notices this.
Lakshya (whispers to her ear)- Do I affect you so much Ragini, that a mere touch of mine gets you breathing heavily?
Ragini (whispers looking down)- No, you don't affect me at all.
Ragini feels embarrassed. Lakshya keeps his hands on Ragini's bare belly and presses her belly with one hand slightly. Ragini flinches.
Ragini- Ouch!
Lakshya smirks seeing Ragini's condition. She was breathing so heavily that even Swara could notice it.
Lakshya- Are you sure I don't affect you?
Swara- Hey, you both! I'm still present here. Once you get married, you'll have plenty of time to do all this but not now! Not before marriage.
Swara starts laughing. RagLak are both quiet because they know nothing like that is gonna happen after their marriage. Swara then clicks a picture of RagLak and pulls Lakshya out of the room.
Swara- Lets go, jiju. If somebody comes to know that I helped you in this, I shall be dead.
Lakshya (to Ragini)- See you soon, Mrs. "would be" Ragini Lakshya Maheshwari.
Swara and Lakshya walk to his car.
Swara- Jiju, di is getting married. I feel left out. Find someone for me as well. How old has your brother grown up now?
Lakshya- Wait a second, how do you know I have a brother?
Swara gets nervous.
Swara- Ragini di told me.
Lakshya- And how does she know?
Swara- May be your dad told her.
Lakshya- Yeah, that may be possible.
Swara- Do you have his picture?
Lakshya- Yeah wait, let me show you.
Lakshya shows Sanskaar's picture to Swara in his phone and she goes crazy.
Swara- Oh my god! I don't care about his age. I've fallen for him.
Lakshya- Hahaha you're mad! He doesn't stay here. He stays in Mumbai.
Swara- So what? I'll shift to Mumbai after marriage.
Lakshya (in mind)- Oh! So both the sisters are in the plan. Ragini chose me and Swara chose Sanky. Such greedy people they are!
Lakshya- Hahaha Swara, I'll see you on Haldi ceremony then. Good night.
Swara- Good night jiju. And don't worry, I'll take care of your girl.
Swara winks at Lakshya and Lakshya leaves fom there.
