Saku I am so so sorry that I have not left you comments on this excellent SS! I have read some parts already and dont want to do proforma comments and have been madly busy at work and also struggling to keep up with Dark Knight! I promise I will make up for it. I know we have agreed we don't need sorries and all but I genuinely feel bad this time! xoxo

Res 😈 (Winter Lady's wickedly happy grin) 😈

Un-Res

So, my very dear, beloved Sultana of Spring 🤗 🤗

You've left me feeling all bittersweet and full of saudade since yesterday night. 😳 Warm and blissful at the way this series ended, and somehow curiously hollow that it's finally ended. I won't have further updates in the Winter saga to eagerly look forward to, to keep reading between the lines and guessing the mysteries from the teeny hints and clues you keep secreting deftly in your dialogues!! 😉 Ah well, perhaps soon one day, you'll write the Summer series. Ansh's finding of his soulmate maybe? With Sanskaar & Swara guiding him? The little tornado certainly seems to be a dynamo! 😊

I loved the way the Finale started off, with the detour into a past of a decade ago. The bond of a very close friendship between Swara & Sanskaar, teetering on the brink of something more, was beautifully portrayed. Both Ragini and Kavita, canny, scheming girls both 🤢, understood very well what Sanskaar was feeling for Swara. That boundless adoration, that warm devotion. I am angrier than ever, at Kavita and Shomi for having separated the two of them for almost a decade! 😡

You captured Ragini very well here. The mask of bland innocence in place, but as you put it, an ugly and sly envy beginning to corrupt her heart and soul. She seems to have had an intense crush on Lakshya as a teen itself, and when he ultimately shrugged off his engagement in order to pursue Swara, it pushed her over the edge into vindictiveness, she was already teetering on the brink of.

Kavita--well, I disliked her in SQ 😊 and this scene just reinforced my distaste for the advice she gave Sanskaar then. Hypocrite! And then---you revealed that the original Kavita was just Vasundara's pawn. She had been brought in to worm her way into Sanskaar's affections, and thereby to strike at Durga Prasad. Sanskaar chose her as a means of escaping from the crown and the throne he so detested, but she landed up falling for him, didn't she. A poor excuse of love, but a sort of devotion, all the same. I wonder, had the real Kavita not passed, and had actually returned, what would have been her stand regarding SwaSan? Would she have found the courage to tap into the whatever reserves of goodness she had? Or would she just have been another Ragini? Tantalizing...😛

Vasundara really is a vile, conniving schemer. And the chutzpah of this lady, telling her son in an earlier chapter that she hates war, she always wants peace. Deluded to the core! She is responsible for the travails and hostilities now prevailing.

I liked the conversation between Sanskaar and Adya, first cousins, and future brothers in law (Sanskaar is always Uttara's elder brother by love, though not by blood). That line by Adya was wonderful--that he'd always fought battles as his mother's blind knight; now it was time he fought a battle for his father as well. Those Mahabharata references were lovely. 😊 How Adya realized he'd been a Dritarashtra to his mother's Shakuni; they were definitely not, and never had been akin to Chandragupta & Chanakya.

And the next section--My God. I just loved the determined, strong and feisty way Swara confronted Vasunara and Kavita. The way she said that Sanskaar was a part of her very heart and soul for all eternity, they would never, in reality, be parted. She would not grovel and beg for his life, since that would cheapen her love for him, and in any case, one doesn't beg for something that is so much a part of oneself. Valiant, courageous, wonderful words! 👏 👏 I just loved this flamingly brilliant Swara; who promised Kavita that if Sanskaar was harmed, she would unleash such a havoc and destruction on Kavita, that would destroy her entire being, her soul and existence! Amazing.

Loved the little bit about Ram & Yasho, the scene from the hospital after she gives birth to Sanskaar. She really does seem to have been a marvelous, extraordinary lady. And she had the gift of foresight, didn't she? I got goosebumps, reading that line about how she'd decided, were she to have had a daughter, she'd have named her Swara...So poignant, so beautiful. No wonder Ram had always felt, when he met Swara all those years ago when she was Sanskaar's best friend, that these two were meant to be.

And my dear, my dear Saku. 🤗 Finally, our mutual dislike, Lakshya heeded our desperate wishes for his semi-redemption, and decided not to plunge into a free fall of a bottomless crevice. 😊 Am so happy there is some honor, some intrinsic worth in him, though buried very deep! That touch was very good, Sanskaar leaving a message for him on a CD, explaining very clearly that Swara wasn't some sort of plaything he could demand from Sanskaar; and anyway, whatever step he took, Swara wasn't ever going to return to him, and would completely annihilate him for harming Sanskaar.

But what stood out for me, was the way Lakshya finally reacted when Sanskaar said he forgave him, for all his lowliest decisions, his envy, his covetousness, his worst mistakes. That must have stung and scarred so badly, to be forgiven in advance, by the brother he was going to sin so violently against. Thank God he had some measure of his soul left to salvage!

The next section, with the massive truth reveal! 😛 I'd of course guessed this long ago, but while it wasn't a surprise for me, the expose was deftly handled.
I loved the little clues as to Kavi's real identity you had strewn earlier, Saku. Masterfully done! In particular, the "Kav"-Lak dialogue, and also bits of the "Kav"-Adya dialogue. 😉 Plus of course, the fact of Ragini disappearing so conveniently after coming to see Lakshya in the hospital months ago, and never being around when "Kavita" made her entry. Vasu meeting "Kavita" in the hospital was a deft hint by you too---Ragini was there after undergoing her plastic surgery to resemble Kavita! Plus she also let slip in rage to Swara, about how she'd always loved only the crown and the throne 😊 the venom filled diatribe of the SQ Ragini. 😊

What I loved in this section, was Swara's stance towards Ragini, similar to what Sanskaar had told Lakshya. Though Swara can completely destroy and devastate Ragini, she shows her utter disdain by forgiving her. Telling her that she doesn't want to waste her heart and soul by hating her. Ragini is simply not worth the price of her carrying that emotional burden around!

And then, in this emotional maelstrom, our hero comes striding in---and completely catches Vasundara napping! Oh, how I loved this! The woman who thought she was a master strategist, a Queen of the chessboard, now realizes that the King has outmaneuvered her! And his revelation that Lakshya had anyway saved Adya (rushing to the flaming car to save Sanskaar); and even if he had not, Sanskaar had Akash standing by, was awesome! This man thinks of everything, does he not? 👏 👏 And Vasundara has all the time in the world, of a long and dreary jail sentence, to contemplate and reflect. One would wish she would get a measure of wisdom out of this introspection, but I doubt it!

As for the Epilogue---Really liked the warm, wonderful, festive occasion you wove around the magical couple and their lovely son, Saku. Of course, with another lovely kiddo, presumably a daughter, on the way. I just loved the way Ansh is so protective of Swara, adoring her, literally worshiping her, every bit as much as his Dad does! And that little line about how Sujata is so very close to him, brought a small tear to my eye! She truly is Sanskaar's MOTHER in every sense of the term. How much love she lavished on him, and now she's getting to do that with her beloved grandson. So moving. And "Uttu Bua" telling Ansh that he has to compete with his formidable Dad, for the title of "best Big brother", and Ansh's and Swara's rejoinders to that, were so warm and funny, too. Felt extremely real and relatable. Exactly how these conversations go in real life. 👏

All in all, a wonderful end to a marvelous series, Saku. I am going to miss this like crazy. I am putting in my demand here, for some more chronicles set in spring and summer! I want to read more about Ansh Sanskaar Maheshwari! 😊

Loads & Loads of Love,

---Viji

Sakura,

Chapter 12

Love: This part did justice to its title. The purity of SwaSan's love for each other was reflected in each and every sentence you had written. Beautiful!❤️ This breeze of spring before the winds of winter were truly heartwarming.

Prisoner: You have a talent to leave one with chills after every update. From the start it felt like a trap set by Kavita, but it still me *shudder*. And leaving this part as a cliffhanger and not following it immediately with the finale was cruel. Fantastic work! 👏😛 It would truly have been the end, if only Kavita (*cough*Ragini*cough*) and Vasundara had assessed their enemy more closely.

Finale:

Predictions: This was actually a really good insight into Ragini. It sort of made a lot of sense to me regarding Ragini's actions from then on. It is easy to look from the outside and wonder over the happiness that is inside and wishing to have it for oneself. Very well done here. I simplt loved it.

Trap: Brilliantly written! Absolutely fantastic. The way Ragini and Vasundara play with Swara's mind. I loved reading every line and Sakura you have a way with words and the dialogues!!!!!! 👏
This one line: "It is a rare incident, where the king is checkmated while the queen survives the board. Tell me what is the use of such a queen?' It was like a final nail into Swara's carefully constructed coffin. Such a captivating sentence with such tremendous meaning. Too good!

Declined farewell: I really liked how you showed Swara trying to show indifference over Sanskaar's death to make sure Ragini does not get the satisfaction of watching a wailing and sobbing Swara. It was fabulous to read this. And then ofcourse some tears do try to find their way out but our formidable queen knows never to surrender. Oh those thoughts had me on the verge of tears. and that last line, my heart broke along with hers. 💔

The righteous knight: Adya. I felt so bad for him. Poor guy. His mother hurting the girl he is in love with, his mother hurting his own dad, his mother feeding him with lies. Ah. It must have struck hard. But yes, he had indeed fought a lot of battles for his mom, one last battle, this one for his dad, indeed.! Fabulous last paragraph!

His son... The King: Finally some RP-Yasho interactions. RP loves unconditionally just like Sanskaar no? Poor guy. Yasho wanted a daughter called Swara.? This lady is amazing! Truly. Poor RP, always a bystander, never a warrior. 😆

The sword of Albion: Loved it!! Thank god this guy came to his senses. I really enjoyed this whole part. Don't know why? There is something about a person realising one's mistake and redeeming themselves or atleast trying to. 😛

Truth: Nothing is a more fitting punishment than to forgive an enemy when they want a fight. That was truly amazing. I really enjoyed Ragini suffering. Sadistic me.! 😈 Swara is truly a QUEEN who deserves the crown she wears. 👏

Checkmate: Finally the end. Sanskaar would obviously not let anything happen to his sister's love. Brilliant checkmate! What a finale!

Wings of spring: I actually hoped for this reaction from Swara. Those must have been the most agonizing moments to think that Sanskaar was dead and then finding him alive. *shudder* Can't even think what she must have gone through. 👏

Epilogue: Ansh!! ❤️ That was the most awesome portrayal of a five year old toddler. So freaking cute. I couldn't stop smiling and laughing while reading the epilogue. He is going to be the best elder brother indeed. Such an amazing end to this winter series. Justice to the whole series with this epilogue. Left me with a blissful sense of the coming spring. 😃

I bow down to your amazing talent in writing such wonderful stories. Please consider publishing your work. It really kills me to realise that this is the end of such brilliant work. Please continue writing. Will be looking forward to more of your work.

Awaiting the spring series! :)
