Hey Viji, 😳
Really enjoyed reading the second part.

I loved how you set up the backdrop and in turn, the mood... the sheer richness of the words you chose & the way you structure your sentences totally leaves me in awe.

I noticed you always seems to have a bit of Annapurna in your works & her formidable yet graceful persona fascinates me.. I wish there was a little more of her in this.

How sensitively you unpicked the exact reason for Sanskaar's suffering. His vengeance was something he deeply regretted & still hasn't forgiven himself for because he knows he destroyed 3 lives in the process... or at least catalysed that damage. And now, when that one person who'd helped him to pull himself out of that dark pit expects him to go back to his ways, I can imagine how broken he must be feeling. Especially when she's the one whom he has given up so much for, loved with all his being and on top of that, built up his hopes with reciprocations to his gestures.

Swara really needed to hear this from Sanskaar. This was the only way madam is going to reflect on what she did, how she was feeling about it and how she was feeling about him. How much I wish to see a scene where Swara reflects on her life, you have no idea! I hate it how we don't get to see anything on her thought process with regards to what is happening to her and not to other people in the show. I'm so pleased you allowed her that here.

The SwaRAgini interaction was so refreshing. I liked how Swara didn't trust Ragini's intentions straight away and how Ragini wasn't for once there to manipulate or seek her help. It was nice to see the subtle changes in Ragini- her pondering over and actually recognising that she does have a choice. The advice she gave to Swara obviously screams out regret.

Swara expressed her feelings through her singing & eyes. That was a really beautiful touch. Her music is obviously a huge part of her and it felt like she was leaving no stone unturned while manifesting her trust in her husband. I loved the way you redeemed (I feel trust was the base of Swasan and I can't overlook the fact that she didn't trust him, hence using this word.) Swara- I'd rather she trusted one part of his personality more than the other & I liked that she didn't use that to justify her actions. Instead, she recognised where she went wrong. Proud of Swara.

Gosssh the way she described his eyes. Damn. ☺️ I loved how they made up. 😉
PS: I'm sorry I don't know anything about classical music 😃, hence I'm not making any comments on the Raags. The way you describe them and link it to the characters' emotions sounds beautiful btw. Forgot to mention when I commented on the first part. 😆

Full of SwaSan☺️ and even Ragini looked good in that!😊
It was awesome . Loved it immensely👏

Hey Sakshi dear...thanks! 😊 Very glad you liked the chapter in general, and the SwaSan reconciliation and romance in particular. 😳

Yeah Ragini is slowly moving on the path to redemption. She's still battling feelings of envy and anger...but she has realized she needs to take some difficult steps to get back to the person she used to be.

Thanks yaar. 😳 Felt so nice to hear your feedback.

You've learned Hindustani is it? Or Carnatic? I learned the violin for about 6 years ---Carnatic instrumental.

Music is awesome na? One of the most lovely things in life. Love being another. ☺️

What a swasonlicious update
But why did u stop lady...my heart wanted more n more .I am still in swason land. You just nailed it.
This is the best explanation swara could give for her doubt.Ofcourse sanskaar doesn't know boundaries when it comes to swara n ragini maligning character of swara is reason enough to kidnap ragini although he didn't do it..but thinking on those lines can sow a seed of doubt in swaraz mind .Only this explanation can guarantee forgiveness from sanskaar
I love the quotes and references u make.I tell u this again n again but believe me now am short of words to praise u.What a marvelous piece of writing .Am just in love with ur works.
The pain of sanskaar n regret of swara was beautifuly depicted.I want swara to literally beg for forgiveness from sanskaar and I want sanskaar to show attitude and don't give up easily.
Viji eagerly waiting for third part
thanks for pm

My dear Samiya...🤗 🤗

Thanks so very much, dear friend. As always, your feedback made me feel very touched, and very humbled. It is such a privilege and a pleasure for me to have you read and comment on my writing. Always makes my day.

Glad I could take you to SwaSan dreamland. 😳 I was also there when I wrote this update. ☺️

I truly felt that this could be the only reason Swara could have a small, momentary doubt in her mind, for Sanskaar being the mastermind of the kidnapping. She knows how deeply Sanskaar loves her, how protective he is about her. Once before, when Ragini spoke all those vile words about her, Sanskaar got so infuriated, he almost tried to throttle Ragini. So to have a small seed of doubt, that Sanskaar could have wanted to teach Ragini a stern lesson, when she maligned Swara's reputation, was not impossible.

But like I put in the SwaSan reconciliation scene, Swara also realized that even if Sanskaar had been the kidnapper, he would never have let Swara be blamed for it. He would rather have confessed. Likewise, he would never have let her worry for a couple of days, about Ragini's disappearance, he would have rather taken her into confidence.

Anyway with the reconciliation, she also promises never to doubt him again, since she has observed his eyes so well, 😳 and can read them perfectly!!

I hope to have part 3 up by this weekend, dear. Will PM you as usual.

Shruti darling...🤗 🤗 A BIG Jhappi to you for that lovely comment.

Thanks for saying you liked the descriptions. You would have guessed I'm a big fan of Sunsets and Sunrises by now. 😊 I do love them, describing them in this TS (Sunset in Yaman Kalyan; Sunrise in Bhairav) also was to set the tone, since Raag Yaman Kalyan is an evening Raag, while Raag Bhairav is an early morning one, traditionally played at sunrise or just after.

He he...you liked the description of the concluding SwaSan scene in this one, huh? Well, I liked writing it, too. 😳 ☺️

I wanted to bring in that aspect of their Diwali interaction, because it seemed to me that Swara was really, at some level, aware that Sanskaar was behaving with her like a guy normally behaves with the girl he loves. In a slightly flirtatious, teasing manner. And her response certainly wasn't discouraging at all. 😛

I know, Shruti, I was also disappointed that she chose to doubt Sanskaar. I was majorly bugged with her, in fact. But then, I have rationalized it (and explained her side in this chapter), that she only felt Sanskaar could have kidnapped Ragini, to teach her a lesson for insulting/ maligning Swara. Basically, a small seed of doubt arises, since Swara knows how protective Sanskaar is, about her.

That's why, I also made her apologize to Sanskaar in that reconciliation scene, that she ought to have known, even had he done this kidnapping, he would have never let Swara be blamed for it. Nor would he have let Swara worry so much for those couple of days, he would have told her in confidence.

Glad you liked the music aspect of this chapter as well as the previous one. I wanted to weave that in convincingly. Quite often, music "speaks" to us more powerfully than words, na?

Am also very happy you liked Swara's description of Sanskaar's eyes. I enjoyed writing that bit, a lot. 😉

Oh, I love Oscar Wilde too. That man was an absolute genius. Have you by chance watched "The Good Woman", a film based on his play "Lade Windermere's fan"? If not, please watch it. It ahs so many of his witty quotes incorporated into the dialogues. I was grinning non stop throughout the film.
Starring Helen Hunt, Scarlett Johannson and a couple of others.

@bold: very very true. (feeling like a super girl now for being able to recall a quote while replying to you 😆) Like Aldoux Huxley said "After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music." So is it any surprise that Swara patched up with Sanskaar through music😳

No I havent seen The Good Woman. Will put it for download right away.

Hey Mansi...🤗 🤗

Thanks so very much, dear. Glad you liked this chapter.

I wanted to weave in the aspect of music in this TS, and hence felt that it would be very apt and lovely for Swara to convey her love for Sanskaar, through her singing.

Happy that you liked Swara's description of Sanskaar's eyes. I really enjoyed writing that part, too. 😳

Hope to have Chapter 3 up by this weekend.

Ragini...why she is the way she is...near to Lucifer as Sujatha says ...had me glued to the story. Sanskar...gosh, the guy has style but now you have given him a halo too..he is bigger than life..the conversation between him and Ragini, his last parting shot...'If you are opposed to Swara, you are my enemy today, Ragini...that sounded like something Mario Puzo of Godfather fame would write...

Rest later... got a conference call starting in 5 minutes.

Finally caught up with all my readings...

Ever since young, I have been brought up to listen to Carnatic music, my early remembrance of my grandmother is of her doing tiny, tedious but super lovely needlework with music flowing around her. She taught me the different aspects of Carnatic and Hindustani Raag. To her greatest disappointment, I could recite all the 'words' she had described but not a thing of the actual music stuck to my brains. I remember her lamenting to my mom, about my 'handicap'... 😉

Reading your 2nd update made me realize that music connects to the soul but it also connects your soul to you...

The yearning of Swara to get into Sanskar's good books, her explanation of why she was worried he might be the suspect made a tremendous impact on me...It was so well thought of and brought to life in your writings, it was haunting...Every single para was so vivid, I shed a tear or two sympathizing with Ragini...a feet to be applauded in my books as I simply deplore Ragini's character...

The sangamam of the souls of SwaSan...it was a Raag by itself...Todi might just be it...(after all Hindustani's Bhairavi corresponds to Carnatic's Thodi in terms of its aroha and avaroha)

Hey Jazzy...🤗 🤗

That was such an absolutely beautiful comment, I was feeling uplifted after I read it. Thanks yaar. Am very glad you know you liked both the chapters, and I loved getting your take on some of the aspects in each of them.

Yup, Sanskaar certainly has oodles of style and an aura too. 😊 I wanted to emphasize just how protective he is of Swara. They are having their differences at that point, he is feeling very hurt and betrayed by her doubts; but that is between them. He is, as always, set to defend her against anyone and anything else.

It made me really happy to know about your background of listening to Carnatic music. I'd learned the violin (Carnatic instrumental, though did learn a couple of pieces in Hindustani), for 6 years. Stopped formal classes in the last term of my 12th, when I had to devote all my attention to the Board exams. I still practice occasionally, but I'm quite rusty now. Always love the music though, both Carnatic & Hindustani.

That was such a beautiful line in your comment, Jazzy. Where you said that music connects to the soul, but also connects your soul to you. So true, and very, very beautifully put.

Thanks for all the lyrically beautiful words in your feedback about the 2nd chapter. 🤗

I wanted to portray Swara's possible reason, for the momentary doubt which arose in her mind about Sanskaar being the kidnapper. She knows just how protective he is of her, so his wanting to teach Ragini a lesson for maligning Swara, would not be completely impossible. But where Swara erred, was in not seeing that Sanskaar would never have let her worry so much; not would he have let anyone blame her for the kidnapping. That's what I made her tell him, during their reconciliation.

I'm so glad you could feel sympathy for Ragini---I wanted to show her slow path towards redemption in this TS. It won't be fast or easy for her, she still has to battle those pangs of envy and bitterness. But she is slowly realizing that she needs to find her way back to the person she used to be, rediscover the goodness within her. She had a lot of good, after all, before this fanatic obsession poisoned her mind.

And you're so right about the Raag: Raag Hanumatodi in Carnatic does correspond to Raag Bhairavi in Hindustani. For the last chapter, I am thinking of the Hindustani Raag Todi, which corresponds to the Carnatic Shubhapantuvarali.

Thanks a lot for this quote Shruti. 😊 I hadn't heard this one before, though I've read some Huxley. I'm going to file it away for use in a future SwaSan OS, if that's Ok by you. 😉 Perhaps for the car blast aftermath OS you wanted me to write later?
