Yaar fantastic brain sirf cvs ke pass hai and I am also confused but possibilities are :

1. He is trying to cover some truth ...now another question why ? may be Somehow he thinks it's better that truth does not come out at this moment

2. The kidnapper can use that red shawl again to frame Swara so may be that's why he is doing so
