A married female- lead (genuine-married, fake-married, contract-married or any other variety of 'married') has exactly two options of attire -
regular-style sari, or sasuraal-tradition attire.

Anything else, and either the female-lead's screenspace is reduced, and other female-characters get more screenspace - or the serial gets closed.

What we prefer is not really the point, doesn't add up to enough millions of viewers. The cosmopolitan preferences usually ensure a track and/or series gets closed due to inadequately massive viewership. :(

Whereas conservative viewership can manage to give a series good ratings if the series shows the sort of scenes and attire etc that they prefer. :)
