Medha, I was dumbfounded for quite a few moments after reading it. I was craving to read something different and this one is just unique! I mean Wow! Nobody could've done it any better. It was the CONFESSION of the depraved actions of Ragini, not the JUSTIFICATION. You showed just so adequately how she has become ruthless and inexorable in her bid to get what she wants - even when she knows she never can. I loved the Biblical references you so wonderfully used. For a moment, I actually felt as if the main villain was Lakshya and not Ragini - that was extent to which you were successful in making the readers understand her psyche. And as for Lakshya, he reminds me of Claudio from Shakespeare's comedy Much Ado About Nothing - who is weak and gullible.

Looking forward to more such thought-provoking pieces from you.

Excellent insight into the mind of a character so convoluted that she actually believes that she is right and all others are harming her. She is one person who successfully manages to lie to herself and hence is able to portray such a convincing facade to others.
The day that curtain of innocence will tear and everyone will start accusing her, she will still believe that she is being unjustly hurt by others. Infact Ragini reminds a person of serial killers and other psychopaths who are so delusional that they assume the person they killed/hurt asked for it or enjoyed it.

She is too far gone into her insanity and usually their is no coming back for such characters (as they fail to even comprehend that they have done anything wrong) and they are institutionalized for life but this being a show, Ragini may realise the error of her ways.

Wow medha. ..just wow. I mean, you have taken up the toughest task...trying to portray Ragini's mental processes, while at the same time, not minimising her crimes. Kudos to you. It was spellbinding to read, I actually caught myself shuddering a couple of times.
I liked how you had made a reference to the one ewe lamb. But most of all, I liked how you portrayed Ragini as not being paranoid or whatever. And neither does she claim to be. She just candidly accepts her compulsion for what she did and is about to do.

The best part: even she sees how good Swara and Sanskaar are for each other. I almost felt a little sneaking pity for her, till she goes on to say how she will keep on trying to break either of them, coz it is what she has to do. "Have to play though I know I have lost" bit. Then I just wanted sanskaar--swara to come out all guns blazing, to defeat evil once and for all. In a way, once it is all over, I like to think that Ragini, at least the Ragini in your work, will also be a little relieved at her charade ending.

Once again, wow!

thank you so much for reading and commenting CogitoErgoSum...i'm getting a bit behind in replying to everyone personally...😊. Its nice to hear such words of praise from a writer of your calibre.

Wow... just Wow!! 👏👏👏This is such a powerful and evocative piece that I really felt like I was in Ragz psyche... Beautifully written and ending quote was perfect because that is what she is right? A Lucifer... Devil incarnate but in truth a fallen angel...

And loved the reference that it all started in the name of love for Sanskar and will end because of it...

Death would be a perfect end to the character... Or may be a complete mental breakdown and years in mental asylum... Nothing less seems sufficient. This character in some tangent reminds me of Urmila's character in 'Pyar tune kya kiya' movie... obsessed to the extent of becoming a psycho killer and ending up in asylum.

I know right? It was so compelling, that character. thanks.
