it means by hook or crook😉

literally saam is reasoning, daam-price, dand-punishment and bhed-kill or destroy unity(divide and rule or finish enemy altogether whichever needed)
so to get things done, at first reason calmly, if it does not work, try buying the opponent out, punishthem or finally destroy them utterly. in shory---hook or crook as sonal said.😃

Thanks, Vishi. :)

Yeah, the background is annoying, but compared to another customized 🤢 inappropriately-worded 'prayer' I endured hearing repeatedly in a serial I dearly loved, this one is pleasantly soothing.😆

And no yaar, 'destroy' in this means 'kill definitively'. Even if there's a scope of the killed character coming back from the dead, this does not apply. That person should not be alive at the end of it.
Emotional trauma does not fit, they are all still breathing and extremely alive.

Also they use 'Saam, daam, dand, bhed' for use by both girls, but they use the drastically excessive 'will wipe out your existence' Ma Kali sentence for Swara, at least so far.
Even Ragini had not tried to kill Swara in a way that would guarantee death.
And Ragini's deeds in the past several weeks are seriously not of the vamp-level for mass-audience. Killing or trying to kill or the other things she's done are all extremely mass-forgivable in the contexts she has done them in.

And that 4-options ethical order of conflict was applicable by all to achieve whatever ends they hope to attain - it's not just for use by the good guys.
It's like during the Mahabharat war, rules were transgressed by both sides when they thought it necessary.
It's just that you should not use underhanded means without *first* considering if you might attain your objective by the other three methods. If you consider and think none of those are likely to work, then you can opt for the last. That's the ideal consideration that is presumably advocated.
