Nonetheless...I got a question about Vrishaketu yesterday...n while answering I found out he is mentioned in KMG in Bhishma Parva. I had included wat Lakshmi had translated in Sanskrit...but I got a doubt. And hence wanted to clear it.

I dont like to answer about topics about which I dont know enough...and wen I realize my mistake, I immediately go back n edit my answer with correct facts...😛 Hence I am bothering Lakshmi so much today...

Lakshmi is knowledgeable about Sanskrit. If she can clarify, I'll edit the answer again. People who read Quora should not be misled by half-learned answers...😉

Hi, in the BORI edition, the 'interpolations' i.e. the later myths that were added to make the epic even more controversial are removed (Draupadi Vastraharana is one of the added parts. It did not occur.)

Then what is left of Mahabharata if draupadi is not insulted ...

BORI's Critical Edition has removed those incidents which were clear later additions. Those later addtions were either included in the main narrative, or written on the margin by scribes. Based on thorough research, these incidents were removed. In order to know how the removals were done,..

Coming to the difference in incidents, here are some of them:

1.) Draupadi doesn't reject Karna in Critical Edition, as the rejection appears in only a few manuscripts out of thousands, that are available. In BORI's Critical Edition, Karna doesn't participate at all.

2.) Draupadi's prayer to Lord Krishna is not mentioned.

Draupadi doesn't pray to Krishna this is not Mahabharata

3.) Lord Krishna saving Draupadi from Durvasa with a grain rice is removed.

4.) Urvashi's story of cursing Arjun is not mentioned.

So how does arjun gets lesson for using women

5.)Karna's Digvijay has been dismissed by BORI as later addition.

6.) Karna being killed by deceit(as is popularly believed), has been changed to a fair death of Karna by BORI(after years of research).
