Dear Nandita karna had no restriction on donation to Brahmins. Indra came disguised as Brahmin to seek his kavach and kundal

Ved vyas father was Brahmin, mother satyawati was not a Brahmin so he was intercaste just like karna adoptive parents were.

Also as per manusmriti there are 4 pure castes and then intercastes which are mix of 4 pure castes. Suta means Kshatriya father and Brahmin mother.

Suta is not a race. You are right in your explanation of difference between caste and race but suta does not mean charioteer race. Suta is a caste of people who could be charioteers like karnas father, sena
Pati like keechaka, yudhishtir had suta ministers in his court. Karna also gets to be king.

SidT is wrong when he shows that sutas were only allowed to be charioteer. No duryodhan could not have made karna king if there was this restriction. Karna was insulted more for being a charioteer son than for being a suta. Bheem in rangabhoomi insults karna that how dare a charioteer son challenge a prince. But draupadi does refuse to marry him because of his caste as she wanted marry someone equal ( Kshatriya) or higher (Brahman) but only in some versions. Southern India version draupadi doesn't say anything because karna fails in the challenge and in bori edition karna does not participate at all so no question of any insult there

Vidur was considered part of family but addressed as kshatta which was his caste name. He was never called Kshatriya

To clarify my point

Karna was denied certain privileges because of his caste. All versions are pretty clear on that I have read. But he or his family or sutas were not ill treated as what is being shown in this serial. SidT is showing crap.

Dear Nandani in fact Sutas could have also become Kathavachak. The entire story of Mahabharat as we know is Utshrava a Sut telling to sage Shaunak. And it is mentioned that when Sut Utshrava was narrating this story he was given a higher seat than the sages there.
Actually if you read any katha, it would start as "Sut ji kehte hain" or suta says, this clearly shows that the Sutas were the kathavachaks.

I personally feel that since Sutas were the children of a Brahmin mother and Kshatriya father, so they had an option of choosing either of the professions but in a very lower order, like being a low rank soldier in an army (or may be charioteer) or a religious story teller (which is essential part of any Puja but the Brahmins do much more)

Had being a charioteer such a menial job Sri Krishna and king Shalya would have never agreed to it. (The former would not have been asked by Arjun, and the latter would have never agreed how so much ever he was indebted by the Athithi satkar)

You are right in saying that caste system had become stringent by then, but it was only till the choice of profession, the untouchability had not entered the society by then.

I don't remember the exact verse, but there is a mention in Mahabharat about the Shudra sevaks serving food to the guests at the palace of Yudhishthir.

karna donated indra his his coat mail and earings ...it was not any food...food donation is the biggest donation...but he never could do it to Brahmin becoz he belongs to lower caste to them...he only allowed to donate gold...there is an incident in a regional version of Mb..where after his death karna went to bhaikuntha as a guest of lord Vishnu...then he was given many of golds...but as he was hungry he said to lord Vishnu that I am hungry and why are you giving me gold???then Vishnu said to him that you were daanveer but you did not donate food in ur life...you donated only gold...then karna started crying and said that no bhramin wanted to take food from me...lord vishnu granted him a life as a Brahmin and he returned back to earth for 15 days..(he had some name also but I forget it)..donated foods and got his moksha...this is a very simple story of the importance and greatness of food donation...but it also depicts that shudras were not allowed to donate food to the Brahmin and khastriya.

There is no caste named as suta in Hindu religion..their is only 4 castes those are bhramhin, khastriya, bhaisya and shudra...others are either sub caste or race..

And almost all the community in out country (except few in extreme north east region all are male dominated society...here ppl always known to his father's caste most...mother's caste come later...and if a person have a Brahmin father and khastriya mother or vice versa and he is in ist gen then he/she is not considered as inter caste ...its comes after 3 gens atleast.

And yes sutas were always very good friends of royals...even adhirath was good friend of dhritrastra ...sanjay too was good friends of him...kheechak was commander general of king Virat...there are many suta ppl who were great narrator...karna himself was a king ...but those were all exceptional cases..those does not depicts the over all picture of the whole society...hindu caste system Is always liberal...so ppl can mould it as per their mindset...

And SidT is off course the greatest person on earth...nobody know what is his source of knowledge... I never knew that ppl of low caste were not allowed to live on earth!!!!!!this is too much 😆 karna himself will become shocked in heaven after watching his SidT version story..

You are wrong in this regard, the society is male dominated but caste of a person is not decide by fathers caste.
You can see the example of Yayati's children.

Suta was definitely not a caste, but as definite is the fact so sutas were not Shudras by caste or else a Suta would never have been given a higher place to sit than the Brahmins without any objection
