Yes I have read the novel as well as this review long time ago...
The person who has given this review has complained mainly about K-D n Kunti's portrayal...
I wonder wat she would have said...had she read Palace of Illusions... 😆

By the way wen I read this review for the first time...I was like:
'Why is she complaining so much about K-D? The author can take creative liberty if she wants to'...

Finally watched the episode that I had dreaded for months...n in a VERY LONG TIME felt really really really bad for Karna... 😭

I just loved Pankhuri's performance...That feather-headed chirping was gone.
The dilemma...the confusion...the dignity...everything she portrayed really well... 👏
When she stood up to speak...her adolescent dilemna could be felt...yet she remained firm and uttered those infamous words...Great job Pankhuri... 👏
May be a little more pride will be better bur overall I liked it.

Now coming to Karna...I have to admit this...
In a very long time, I actually FELT Karna's pain. Gautam Rode is pretty good wen he is not screaming.Maybe...those tears were quite unlike Karna...but they made his pain more palpable to me.Some of Karna's dialogues were indeed heart-wrenching.

I did not like the curse part... 😭 bcoz it was somewat un-manly(no offence) or so I found it.
But every word of his had weight and meaning...
Finally when Lord Krishna announced that anyone can participate then Karna's shock and feeling of being betrayed and tricked was well portrayed by Gautam Ride...
Maybe at times...he was crying too much...
But I still liked his expressions of shock n pain.
Star Plus' dialogues were not that good...here the dialogues are apt.
Karna's shock to hear of such words from Panchali n her teary eyes on hearing Karna's curse...both were very palpable...
Musr say...well done to both Gautam Rode and Pankhuri.

The reaction of the Kings were so not needed...Shaleen's acting was not impressive but I liked how Duryodhan actually FELT for his friend. There was no pretence in his affection.

I liked Saurav too as Lord Krishna...though he lacks the aura of SRJ...he was pretty earthly and I liked that.

Overall...I feel this is the BEST Draupadi's Swamvar episode ever shown on television. Except a few things here and there, it was decently portrayed. I could FEEL for BOTH Karna and Draupadi...Karna's pain as well as Draupadi's dilemma...I felt like both are right in their places...

If Karna's portrayal doesnt hamper Draupadi...then I might find back my old love for Karna...
After watching that episode...I could actually feel each n every word of his...

I was waiting to read your review Amrita. And you have did it very nicely. I overall feel Pankhuri is the best among the entire cast, considering how closer are they to their originals. And Navi also if we excuse his random praises of Karn mahoday. There are good chances of me turning into an ArDi admirer with this show.😆 I can already hear Draupadi humming "Ek pardesi mera dil le gaya..." 🤣 But SidT cannot be trusted. Now I may watch this show for Pankhuri.😕
