Alka is in USA with Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu for concerts. Either today or tomorrow is the last one. Hopefully back for shoot for next weekend's episodes.

Aditya with some crazy new hairstyle!

Aryananda missing from the sets in this episode and no explanation given! Is she ill? Whatever it is, here's wishing her well and hoping it gets resolved soon.

Voting lines open from today! I wonder if I can bring myself to vote out some of these contestants considering they are all just kids!

Vishwaja and Pratyush. Chahe Raho Dur Chahe Raho Paas, and Kal Ki Haseen Mulakat Ke Liye. In my view Vishwaja totally overshadowed Pratyush in this. Pratyush sounded nasal in this. Also I wonder now whether a direct competition between boys and girls at this age is fair. Girls' voices have already started maturing while boys' voices haven't yet opened up and far from maturing. In any case, this performance got the SSN, for whatever it's worth!

Pranjal. Once again they made him start with a Bangla song. But the feel and rhythm was so different from his main song Tum Pukaar Lo that it felt totally out of place! I think this song suited him and he did really well. It can be quite difficult to sing such a slow song and he did justice, I felt.

Rituraj. Thankfully no HR prank drama. Na Jaa Kahin Ab Na Jaa. Quite a difficult song but he did very well right from the start. The secons song he sang was Aaj Mausam Bada Beimnaan Hai. Another great performance. He also got a 3rd song: Tera Pichha Na Chhodunga. A peppy number where he did well. All in all, Rituraj was one of the highlight of the episode! But surprisingly no SSN or DHD. And no judges' comments!

Sayisha. Main Tere Ishq Mein and Ab Ke Sajan Saawan mein were announced. She sang the second one first. HR was spot on in his comments - sur, modulation, volume, expression, everything was amazing! This girl is blessed!

Soyab with Salman. Disguised as a request from Dharmendra. Jay Yamla Pagla Deewana. He sang well but the magic of the original was missing, I felt.

Mani. Thankfully they have toned down the backstory a bit. Apne to Apne Hote Hain. In his genre but very well done. Hitting the high notes quite well.

Faiz with Arunita. Saathiya Nahin Jaana, Aaja Teri Yaad Aayi and a short solo for Faiz on Dreamgirl. Looks like Faiz is finally overcoming his apprehension in duets. He sang very well today. He should continue this form now. Faiz was also excellent in the medley section in both his songs.

Chetanya with Danish. Did they infuse more pathos into this song than the original? A typical performance of this duo. BAU.

Others:

Arunita. I wonder if she really was able to very cleverly divert Aditya's question about PD towards Dharmendra or was that editing. After that, Dharmendra's praise for her singing was genuine. Thankfully, good sense came him just in time and he stopped short of calling her pretty! By the way, she was not on the set throughout the performances of Soyab and Mani. Whatever we saw of her reactions were clearly edited in.

I see all 8 on First cry. Aruna didn't get a chance today and Aryananda was absent.

But how does the voting work if firstcry has different set of kids than sonyliv? The extra kid gets votes on both days? Or at a disadvantage?
