a) I could be wrong (and they haven't mentioned this in detail yet) but I think it's finishing the third trial itself that would close the gates of hell.. Not sure if there's any physical act that the boys would have to perform to then close the gates. As for sinners not going to hell, they could actually make it so closing the gate means it's a one-way gate. Souls can go in but none of the demons can come out of hell back to earth.

Now ...its becoming more interesting...well do you remember kevin saying that the tablet has instruction about god's obstacle course..after which they will get further instructions...so first they had to finish the 3 trials..so i thought may be there is something more to do after trial...but going by the time left and number of episodes...i doubt anything else is there now...

b) For some reason, I doubt they would explore Samifer again... they did that in S5 and a bit of S6 so they might not go into it again simply to not be redundant... but it's an interesting theory.. what if Lucifer escapes the cage?

i acknowledge the fact that it would be like flogging the dead horse...if they take up luci again..but luci is known to have escaped his cage once before...and he is STILL a significant an dangerous player on board whom we can't ignore an dforget...or sideline..

c) Good point. People do change their 'destinies.' The Winchesters did, so did Castiel. It's the choices you make that determine your fate.

d) I too have thought about this. If they shut the gates of heaven along with hell then Cas would have to return... By now, he clearly knows that the angels agenda is so totally different from his, so he probably would not want to return. Would he have to give up his angelic status for that? I guess we'll see.

this is one of the reasons am thinking "the end" will feature..otherwise cas will not forego his powers so easily in middle of a war..when without powers he is just a baby in a trench coat...any way he needs power in present circumstances..

e) So see this is confusing to me... Physically, yes, Sam's health is getting worse and worse. But in the last episode, he himself said that the tials are restoring him, they are purifying him. So I guess it's soul vs. body here? I'm sure they'll clarify it soon.

but then again..soul v/s body has been dealt all through s6-7...so it would be redundant right?

f) So you're considering The End as in the end of the world? I think when Sam said they're nearing The End, he meant the end of the trials... not really the end as in Michael-Lucifer showdown.

no..no..i am just thinking the story development and the next stage of story...how it could all lead to the situation shown in "The End"...dean dying at the end...may not be necessary...it can be that dean leading a rebellion be an entire season's focus..😕 you never know..you are right he meant the trials...but after trials what?? it has to lead somewhere right??

g) So Joshu and Metatron being God... that I understand but Chuck being God is something I haven't been able to wrap my head around. Cas has, on several occasions, mentioned that the names of the prophets are seared into his brain and he clearly recognized Chuck as a prophet. So how can he be God? And yes, it's possible that God himself did that to elude the angels. But why? He's God, after all, why would he want to appear as a prophet?

well cas is STILL an angel of lower order...and we are talking about god...he might have hoodwinked the angel...and yeah the NAME is seared...but what is the guarantee that HE is CHUCK?? nobody has seen chuck before right?? who has ever been able to guess god's moves??

h) I think it's always been more about family more than free will anyway. The boys always choose family over anything... Same's true with Cas, as for him and the brothers, they are really family.

that's y the free will matters here...chosing family when you are being driven up teh wall to chose otherwise IS freewill isn't it??

j) Not closing the gates of hell is a serious possibility. As it's been foreshadowed a few times already... it's all about what they are willing to sacrifice to close the gates of hell? If it's Sam's life, Dean will definitely be against it. Would it be Swan Song all over again? Dean asking Sam not to, but Sam does it anyway.

exactly..the cost is very serious here...exactly dean will put his foot down on the issue..i too am worried that it would happpen so..but it would be like repeat...which i hope seriously they will avoid..but that's so so dean and sam's nature..am seriously worried..how about dean sacrificing himself to avoid sam doing anything stupid?? like role reversal of swan song?? cos he said he will go out with a gun in hand while sam should live a normal life..and to dean its pretty much suicide mission..

k) Crowley and Naomi's history bothers me too... they've talked about it a few times and I hope they elaborate on that soon. What's up with Naomi anyway? What's her real agenda?
hope they do..but looking at the platter now...its highly doubtful they will reveal it or not..may be they are gonna play it out slowly in the next season??? i guess Naomi is just another wannabe god...unlike cas had become for a while..but with a purpose.. abscence of a boss can lead to seat usurpation attempts right??
