My problem with the epi was not the attraction factor--that's been shown time and again. Not just when he was drunk, but at instances dating back as far as last October (or earlier--I haven't seen all). In fact that was a major annoyance too--for him to feel attraction and consistently deny it. Unnatural.

He wasn't going to address physical attraction in that milieu--but he did say that he misunderstood his feelings as friendship, that he didn't know enough to decode what he felt. Typical Yuvi--put the onus on her--"Why didn't you make me understand that what I felt wasn't friendship". DUDE! There's a limit to what a girl can do!

You're the only one who comes close to how I felt yesterday when I saw the episode. It's not that it fell flat for me, but, yes, it lacked build-up and I felt the disconnect and it affected a scene we've waited for for ages. Actually Sahil almost rescued it for me, but I'm not easy to please and lack serial-induced excuse-making for anything I don't like or that bothers me. And what also saved it to some extent was the segments we've seen of following episodes, where he is kinds romancing her (cute bugger) He's shown desire more than 2 or 3 times, if you ask me.

I agree with you. I always have had this problem with this show. It did not ever say "dusky is beautiful"

but the message was "its not beautiful but that ok because being nice matters more" . And a nice person in tv parlance means a doormat.

The only time they have shown him attracted to her is when he is drunk! There may be other moments but we never saw youvraj after those moments thinking about her. So for us it was romance bec of the background music but was it romance/ attraction for him ?

Also, i didn't like the fact that they neatly shift the blame to rohan (or dadi or soumya) whenever their is an issue between these 2.

Rohan creating the initial problem with fake divorce papers -ok his fault. But youvraj publicly humiliating her - that was all him. Letting his dadi and bhabhis treat her like crap - again all him.

So is he going to tell them to shut up now ? ... why bec he loves her? But wasn't she his friend before? didn't she deserve respect then ?

like sandiab said above - yuvraj is soon going to be back to his usual self - yelling, misbehaving with suhani. and she manaofying him. the only diff is that we will see more jhappis when they make up

It wasn't romance for him those times, but attraction, yes, I think. And that itself was never enough--as we had said before, we got it that's he's supposed to love her and in denial or unaware, but from WHAT WAS SHOWN, there was nothing definitive. Guys are attracted to girls they don't love too.

And while I agree on blame shifting, I don't think all of us absolve Yuvraj or find him blameless.

Big blot on a guy to fail to prevent abuse, add to it, in fact. But if he barely squeaks on his mother's behalf, he wasn't going to knock himself out for his 'friend'.

awesome point about the mother - he sees his mahaan dadi dissing his mother all the time. When has he ever ever spoken up on her behalf? So why will he do so for a girl he met a year back

I seriously want someone to point all this out to him and do his izzat-aarti :)

@bips: I think Rohan indirectly pointed out to him those flaws, when he overheard Rohan-soumya's argument. Which is why, that night we saw him crying to Sharad and Anuj about 'kabhi saath nahi diya'. I think he realized his short-comings to some extent.
