What a bunch of freakin hypocrites this channel is!!! It's the most absurd thing that I've ever heard and if they so wished to have a darker skinned lead then they should have casted accordingly...do they take viewers as fools!! Completely ludicrous!

Why do you guys have such a problem with Suhani being darker or not being that dressed up?

SP is right that SSEL's premise is based on an ordinary-looking girl's life. What is so wrong if she is portrayed like that? Basically, what I can see here is that people don't want her to look 'too dark', presumably because the thought behind it is that 'dark is ugly'. Very hurt by this.

What is so wrong with Suhani not looking like a beauty queen? She is portraying an ordinary girl and I think it's perfectly normal for an ordinary girl to not be dressed to the nines always.

I agree with Megs_Megs that SP should have just cast a darker actress instead, but SP obviously thinks 'dark is ugly', 'cause they don't wanna cast actual dark people in the show as protagonists. I find it pretty insulting that they would never cast an actor who was actually dark in a show. Rajshri is not even that dark.

The reason Suhani is so popular is because people can relate to her. I don't understand why so many people have a problem with her being portrayed as a dark girl.

But I was reading that post about SP getting involved and saying that this story is about a dark girl and so her makeup must be according to that and I have no problem with that. My problem is that I dnt like when her makeup changes 1 min dark 1 min fair. if they want her to be dark always then I have no problem with that so be it. But the changing of makeup is confusing coz she is made deliberately dark and differently looking when there is a function so that she does not match up to the other. I dnt want suhani to be fair, I want proper makeup. She does not look her usual self in those functions why cnt they use her usual makeup in those episodes? I blame the ph for this coz they differentiate in her colour. On 1 person they use different types of makeup not correct. this show must decide what shade of dark suhani is.

This new makeup is at least 10 shades darker than any makeup in the last week's episodes...also, I didn't know that only pasty white skin tones were allowed to use lip gloss/lipstick and eyemakeup. seems all the glossy & mascara on that set is used for Dadi & RagMen...why cant a bride to be be allowed to at least put some clear lip gloss on her lips and she has very lovely lips too and beautiful big eyes & long eyelashes a tiny bit of makeup would not make her FAIR or a beauty queen, it would suit the occasion though...I just wish that Suhani's look for once rose to the occasion...and having a nice , up to date hairstyle also does not mess with the concept of SSEL does it? She can be dark skinned in fact I dont mind at all but it puts me off to see her being given the worst outfits on the show and the sidies walk around with kick ass dresses not all the time but most of the time...for once I want Suhani to be treated & dressed like the princess she is if I had any issue with her looks id have stopped watching the show but right now to me in the latest segments, Suhani does not look like the Suhani we've seen for the past 1 year. Something has gone wrong with her look.

Just because the guy is in love with her now, they suddenly want to take her few shades darker? I find that pathetic. Just stick to one colour... and keep it consistent... it looks super bad to see her changing colours each day... and how would audience just lap up change of her skin tone all of a sudden? If at all they want to make her more dark, then they might as well do it slowly, than like this sudden jerky way of pushing her into spray tan machine!
