Concealed beauty - FF - Ch.4, p.8 - Page 4

Tentatively, Suhani reached out with her left hand, the tips of her fingers touching the outstretched white wing of the swan on the canvas. She traced it thoughtfully as her eyes skimmed over the rest of the painting. This swan was illuminated by a bluish light, giving at a more majestic hue, and three smaller ones were surrounding it, their heads bowed slightly. Though apart from that, this part of the portrait was held rather dark, the water was almost black.

But the background... the narrower the river became, the lighter it turned. Same with the trees left and right- their orange-yellow leafs turned brighter, more vibrant. It was beautiful. Yet...

There, at the far end, was- not a swan, rather a duck, its yellow feathers more like a muddy brown. It was turned away from the group of swans, though it looked like the others were already complete in their circle, anyway. No room for an extra. Its head was lowered. In sadness? Disappointment?

Whatever it was, Suhani couldn't shake off the feeling that the duck just didn't belong in this picture. It was a contrast to the beauty depicted. Unwanted. Outcast.

this was just beautiful lines i could just imagine suhani feeling like this when she finds out destroyed, lonely and an outcast, it shows hw insecure she will become so sad.

"This." Aman pointed toward the duck, well, a little to its left, and upon looking more closely, Suhani noticed the outlines of something. Wings? And was that a head? It was hard to see since the color was almost the same as of the river, but it was there. "Another swan, maybe it's ill or old and tired to stay upright and move. While the other swans are busy with themselves and the beauty with them, the duck is trying to help this one." Yes, it really looked like the duck was reaching toward it. "And they are both in the light whereas the other swans are in darkness."

"Inner beauty," she realized, astonished. Why hadn't she seen it before? God, it was so obvious! Why am I reflecting my own life to this amazing piece of art?

this was so brilliantly written i could just imagine the painting and hw beautiful it must have looked and i guess the swans are dadi and her gang lol fungly ppl on the dark side of life.

i loved how he made her remember the beauty of her beauty and that not everything can be tainted by her life experience. and i loved at the end of her conversations with Aman she was able to joke and didnt feel any pressure with him and was a little more brighter that's the thing about suhani its takes so little for her to get bright and make her happy and see her in a different way.

She can find someone else...

Don't tell me you actually love her.

It's already over.

Why ruin our lives for her?

She can find someone else

and this part wow i just loved it i cnt wait for Yuvraj to realise that suhani can have a happy life without him my day will be part watching that thought torment him.

Awesome...and Suhani comparing and connecting with the painting was so symbolic and sweet. And coming to Yuvraj...glad his senses are back...liked the agitation going on in his mind.

"Outer beauty attracts...but inner beauty captivates..." I hope people realize this...else we all are shallow induviduals. And it is this inner beauty that has captivated our hearts and is making us watch SSEL.

Yes, it will be truly heartbreaking once she finds out the whole truth. At one hand, we dread that moment and on the other, we really want it to already happen Let's just hope that she'll be able to pick herself up, again - or that someone will be there to help her through it.

Thank you 😳 I tried to visiualize the painting in my head before I started to describe it- it wasn't that easy. But the idea with the swan and duck - I loved it and is just fit so well^^ And yes, you guessed absolutely right 😛

Aman is good for her, very true. And Suhani's personality is it what makes it easier for her to connect with him, in a way. Maybe that's what she needs- someone who isn't involved in that mess that is her life and thus, makes her feel light and comfortable.
