The msg of the show is that if u are a dark skinned girl that u should smile when your skin colour is mocked and try and be the perfect maid. And if u are fair u will get lots of love coz that all it takes to make u a good and trust worthy person. And if u a fair girl in a serial u wil be the only 1 who will be shown even if the name of the show is suhani si ek ladki coz ppl must not ever want to see a dark girl be a real lead in a show.

yes they are showing how vain and shallow dadi is, with wanting fair and pretty girls as DIL. even if it is a secondhand one like somaya.

dadi doesn't value her own DIL, for what really i dont understand. but she hated suhani for being dark skinned. she doesn't see anybody below the colour of their skin. our culture tells us to respect our elders, but i would never respect anyone as vain and shallow as dadi. and i do believe that TV serials too should not promote respect for such characters no matter how old they are. dadi is a shameful representation of the older generation. a woman who no respect for people, relationships or the institution of marriage.

but it also shows Suhani who is not a great beauty, but more beautiful than any great beauty. her kind heart, innocence and unconditional love and care for her family. makes her incredibly beautiful and one cant help but fall in love with her.

besides the three wicked witches and somaya, everybody in the family loves suhani. even yuvraj though he has not yet realised it. he doesn't want to see suhani hurt in anyway and that says that he cares for her even loves her

all fair people in this serail got brains and can understand what is happening except for Suhani..
