Adding my two cents...as she is people pleaser I always see her poking nose in others affairs and even commenting...she needs to maintain distance to get self-respect...taking todays example, what was the need of going after Yuvraj, she had already waited for a day, so an hour so doesn't matter, but no she has to go, do all the stupide talks non-stop ( I just can't stand this, may be influence of western culture)...
From today, giving up watching the show ( only updates)...by watching for first ten minutes it became clear that Soumya is going to be the apple of BH.

Yes, really! It's like she can't stand people being angry with her. Hello! You can't please everyone ALL the time. Also, she should evaluate whether someone's anger towards her is valid or not. I mean, why exactly is Yuvraj SO angry? She doesn't know the truth, so why does he expect her to be suspicious of Soumya??

Personally, I think she should walk away when he starts throwing his tantrums, because there has to be a LIMIT to anger. He can't be on his power trip ALL the time.

I don't know what these cvs thinking bout star plus serials are meant to inspire girls and teach the, they can do anything

This serial shows us you're piece should always be dependant on a man the way suhani repeatedly goes on about her life is yuvraajs etc and how she is shown to have no goals of her own is such low thinking

High time cv give us a female lead who is not a damsel in distress all the Time. Someone with confidence. Someone to show us women we can do what we want!!

I'm getting so sick of this show I've stopped watching only read the updates it's not worth 30 mins of the time everyday.

Exactly. She has herself said that Yuvraj is her life and her top priority. It's good to give your marriage importance, but you shouldn't lose your own self and personality in your so-called love for someone.

@bold- I think SP's tagline is ironic- Nayi Soch. What a joke. It should be "Regressive Soch". Suhani just sits at home and works as the Birlas' maid for free when she can go out and contribute to the economy. In SP's view, an ideal woman is someone who sacrifices and erases herself for her family. Sorry, I don't want to be such an 'ideal' woman. Disgusting! 🤢🤢

I don't think so, but maybe her desire to please, earn affection is just part of her nature, but carried to extremes. I don't think she is unusual in a serialistic way, if you get me--idiot writers of Indian serials just think sacrificing superwomen are what ideal women should be. Nonetheless, your points are v valid in light of Suhani's moronic blindness and inability to take offence or fight back when her self-respect (rather than snaky's--didn"t she tell off her in-laws? ) is dealt blows, repeatedly, relentlessly. Again, this is supposed to be glorified Indian womanhood (I swear, I have watched in horror as my friend's mother wept tears of appreciation at just this kind of sainted shit).
Can't remember all your post, so let me re-read.

Yes, I too want Suhani to react with anger at the Birlas and herself for her naivete and foolishness. She should grow up. Otherwise, there's no point in watching this show. 😔

One can win others' affection without becoming their slave. There is a difference which Indian TV shows fail to understand. In their view, an ideal woman is a slave. 😔🤢 Well, if your friend's mother appreciates this, I can see where they get their audience from. We are clearly not it. Indian TV's idea of womanhood is a cautionary tale of "What not to be" to every woman, I would say. I don't take notes from them, for sure.

i agree with what you have said and nothing much to add to that.
I remember in one of the episode her dad says that he has never discriminated between her and Bhavna but that's within his protection though. She went to school/college, maybe there were instances which let her subconciously adopt the people pleasing behaviour just to compensate that she wasn't fair. Like when Dadi & RagMen insult her repeatedly, how can she not even react?! Once possibly twice she could have let it go considering their age/seniority at BH but every time?! She needs to know when to be assertive! I dislike the message she's sending out.
How inconsistent is her character?!! She can defend everyone and even lie for them yet she can't stand up for herself esp when she has no fault of her own. she should let her feelings out sometimes, why must she sacrifice herself?! She is more worried her mother-in-law's health would deteriorate than her own dignity, she was almost raped but that is not even in her mind anymore?!
& the inferior complex part relating to both Shoumya & Yuvraaj, she must have felt grateful that someone supposedly so pretty and popular decided to be friends with her or something otherwise friendship is both sided but Suhani has absolutely no say in this relationship and she just tagged along. similarly with Yuvraj, he could have chosen any girl but she thinks Yuvraj loves her so the same things- mostly feelings of gratitude which in their relationship translates into being her maid and obey every single orders or he'll just act like an AYM!
i don't even know if i'm relating with your post anymore, just random train of thoughts šŸ˜†

I don't really understand where her self-esteem issues come from, because otherwise, she seems to be completely satisfied with her complexion. Maybe it's a subconscious issue where she feels she needs to be extra-nice to people to compensate for her complexion?? 🤢🤢 Disgusting. I am dark too, but I never behave in the slavish manner she does and people respect me and treat me well, Thank You very much. What an eyewash.

I think she is just a very submissive woman who has been taught by her mother to take any kind of shit but keep her husband and in-laws happy. How can she not care about almost being raped?? She almost drowned today and she is still not shaken up. Near death experiences literally motivate people to change the whole direction of their lives, and this girl is back to her Somu Jaap in minutes.

I think she really wants to be loved and if she feels someone loves her, she allows them to do just about ANYTHING to her.

@bold- that seems to be exactly it. She needs to stop letting people treat her like crap. Have some self-respect woman! Love is supposed to give you strength not make you weak & tear you apart! She is too blind at the moment i don't even know what they have done with her character here! It's high time she needs to stop her incessant Somu Jaap though, had she been more aware of people around her, all these could have been prevented.

Absolutely, Annie! šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘ Suhani's love for her husband, her in-laws and her best friend has weakened her to the point that a 1 month old baby probably has more of an independent identity than her. So many of us identify with Suhani and to run her character down like this is just irresponsible and nasty. 😭

When I see Suhani's character being trashed like this, I feel like every woman, no matter what size, age or colour is being mocked. 😔😔
