Soumya's eyes sparkled as she heard Yuvraj telling Sharad how he wanted to surprise her on her birthday. She knew she had always meant more to him than her best friend. Best friend ? Who was she kidding ? Smiling to herself,she bounced back to her room in high spirits.
Meanwhile just like any other day,Suhani was humming to herself in the kitchen as she went about preparing Yuvraj's favourite pasta. She idly wondered what he would do for her special day the next day. She grinned thinking that it would be a big thing if he even acknowledged it. The only thing that mattered to her was the every moment she spent with him and the every smile he directed at her.
After chatting with Pratima who had just come to give a helping hand,she set off to her parent's house to catch up with her family whom she had started to miss slightly. As she closed the door behind her,she did not see a pairs of eyes watching her as Yuvraj chuckled to himself.
He knew that Suhani would not have expected him to even remember which made his plannings all the more special. He had started to look forward to those simple but happy moments he had started to have with his Chaipatti. He wasn't sure why even her smiles and giggles warmed his heart like nothing else. He shook his head,not wanting to think about it too much.
He had booked a simple and elegant restaurant for just the two of them and had even bought her a simple pinkish gold saree simultaneously trying to reassure himself that it was just a one time thing. As he laid down to sleep that night,he realized that he missed her constant chattering and even those silly Amitabh Bachchan dialogues she recited and laughed as he recalled one of them.
As next morning dawned in a reddish gold hue,Suhani woke up and eagerly checked her phone to see if she had received any message from Yuvraj but just saw a brusque message asking her to pick him up from some nearby restaurant in the evening ,where he was meeting with a colleague. Slightly disappointed,she joined her family for breakfast where she received their wishes and gifts.
Meanwhile in the Birla house,Yuvraj started to get ready for the surprise he was planning for his wife. He decided that Soumya should drive him and leave with the car so that Suhani wouldn't suspect anything. Soumya who was wearing her favourite green dress accentuated by a slim gold belt,smiled at her reflection thinking that her dreams were finally coming true.As she went to meet Yuvraj,she could see how excited he was and how subtle he was trying to be. Smirking,she waved to Dadi and her soon to be bhabhis and left.
As they reached the hotel, Yuvraj gave her the keys and thanked her as she looked at them in a perplexed manner which gave away to anger as she realized that she was just going to be a chauffeur today. Fuming,she backed away the car and left.
Suhani who had just arrived then,prepared to enter the restaurant. She was dressed in the pinkish gold saree which her mother (on behest of Yuvraj ) had told her was lying on the doorstep which she had found quite weird but had overlooked then. When she entered,with incredulous delight,she saw some of her favourite Amitabhji's movie dialogue posters right from Sholay lining up the corridors leading to a door. As she opened the door,she could hear an instrumental of 'Kabhi kabhi mere dil main' playing in the background and in the center, a candlelight dinner for two was arranged.
Just as she was wondering if all this was a dream,a chorus of Happy Birthday was heard and Yuvraj came to sight. Spellbound and stunned,she looked at him to her heart's content as he came towards her and led her to the table.
When she saw that delectable grin on his face ,whose sole cause was the smiling surprised face in front of him,she realized that dreams do come true after all.
