They're visible to me.

In my Outbox, on any page with one or more PMs sent to vijay, I don't see his picture or name next to the topmost PM sent to vijay. I only see his Indian flag.

If vijay has read the PM, the Indian flag appears faded, and if he hasn't read the PM, the Indian flag appears unfaded.

Next to other PMs sent to vijay, I see everything: his picture, name and Indian flag.

If I search my Outbox for vijay so that only PMs to him are listed, PMs that had only the flag (when all PMs were visible) now appear with everything because they're no longer the topmost PM to vijay on the page.

This peek-a-boo effect is specific to vijay and no other members.

sir, post the clean up,

links to specific posts (not pages) have also gone haywire. For example, in one of my topics, there was a post on pg 65 and now it is on page 49 after the clean up but the link of the post now just takes me to the last page of the thread instead of the actual post.

Is there someway to fix it (apart from searching and doing it manually from my end)?

Today a user I blocked managed to quote me - can you ensure that does NOT happen?

I do not like to deal with such kind of people who attack me for fictional characters.

The user is @vismaya and it happened in the YRRKH forum, in the Gen 123 Frustration Thread.

And btw, in that thread, there are users over there who have been repeatedly directly/indirectly attacking me or my views on the Gen 3 male lead and the viewbie mods are just silently removing it. Still the users repeatedly kept on doing it.

When I became active in that thread, someone literally asked about my upbringing and whether that person is alive or not. Can you please tell me if that kind of question is okay to ask?

Vijay, I understand and respect that you have introduced this new copy and pasting feature to ensure more safety, but it's causing a lot of problems. For example, I am not even able to copy and paste sentences of a few words into a post, like when I want to update an index, I have to type the whole sentence (not my own posts, but posts by other members within the same thread). Is there any solution for this?

I agree it’s really annoying me I can’t even double quote anymore or copy text into other places which is really sad

On the first part of your post - that is a tech issue so I leave that to Vijay. Vijay I believe a blocked user should not be able to quote someone so can you look into this?

On the rest of your post - yes the viewbie mods are silently removing it because that is the only part of the action that is public. There is more that goes on behind the scenes that an user is not privy to and that action cannot be shared.

On the last para - I hope you reported it and the mods will deal with it.

bangtanARMY, I quote people who have Blocked me, all the time. Even now that India Forums has made it nearly impossible to copy any text or link ... where there's a will, there's a way.

Nevertheless, when I'm tempted to respond to bait, there's a deterrent from not being able to capture text with the Quote function, and knowing that the person I'm quoting won't get a notification. I have to stop and think about what I write and whether I should put in the effort, or just let go.

Sometimes, the person who Blocked me is asking for help. Why shouldn't I help? If I wait until another person asks for the same help, and I'm seen only helping the other person, won't that escalate the conflict with the one who Blocked me?

If I'm expected to use a template to make a request, and someone who Blocked me happens to be the person who posted the template for the benefit of the whole forum, should I just not make a request? I have gotten around this problem dozens of times, and I've never seen a complaint about me copying the template that I couldn't Quote because I was Blocked.

If I see a false statement misleading everyone who reads it, should Blocking prevent me from correcting it right there? vismaya's remark that you have "issues" was insulting, but if s/he sincerely believes that you're misrepresenting what happened in fiction (Did he invade her space or did she go to his room in a dream?), it should be sorted out right in that topic with vismaya citing exactly what you posted.

I suggest that instead of asking Staff to invent more sophisticated barriers to prevent quoting, you can go on reporting insulting remarks to the DT. Yes, it's frustrating when posts are removed and the offenders just make more. It's natural to suspect that the offenders didn't get a warning. But the opposite is worse: when members attack you for what the DT said to them, while the DT is unwilling to remove content that could endanger someone in real life: body-shaming ... telling LGBTQ+ members not to conceive children ... fantasizing about sexual touching of a sleeping/drugged person ... advocating hefty fines and prison time as punishment for religious conversions ... Blocking and no-copy features will not eliminate dangerous content or even discourage members from insulting each other. With hundreds of members posting every day, India Forums will never be 100% free of unpleasantness, but if we can learn to ignore provocations and report only the stuff that could harm someone, that will help the DT to prioritize.

Some members want Blocking to mean that members can't even see each other's posts. My personal experience is that I've never needed to Block anyone, and four out of thirteen people who ever Blocked me have Unblocked me. Unblocking is good for an active forum, and it might not have happened if they couldn't get used to what I have to say.
